No visa, no passport: Pakistani man lands in Jeddah instead of Karachi after boarding wrong flight
The passenger, Shahzain, has now sent a legal notice to the private airline, accusing it of negligence and seeking compensation for the ordeal, ARY News reported.
According to Shahzain, he boarded the wrong aircraft after presenting his ticket to the crew. 'Two planes were parked at the domestic terminal gate, and I was unaware of the mistake until it was too late,' he said. He claimed that no airline staff informed him of the error despite checking his boarding pass.
He only realised something was amiss two hours into the flight. 'I questioned why the plane had not yet reached Karachi. This caused panic among the crew, who then blamed me for the mistake,' he said, adding that he was later told it would take two to three days to arrange his return.
'I was told that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) would conduct an inquiry, to which I assured [them of] my cooperation,' he was quoted by ARY News as saying.
The legal notice sent to the airline demands reimbursement for the unexpected travel costs and compensation for the distress caused. Shahzain maintains that the airline is responsible for failing to verify his documentation and for allowing him to board an international flight without travel papers.
The incident has drawn the attention of the Pakistan Airport Authority, with the Lahore Airport Management reportedly holding the airline accountable.
A senior airport official said the passenger's arrival in Jeddah was due to the airline's 'negligence and carelessness,' and that a formal request for action had been submitted to the relevant authorities, the report added.

A key eyewitness to the Pahalgam terror attack has told investigators that he saw the gunmen fire four rounds in the air in 'celebration' after killing 26 civilians in the meadows on April 22, The Indian Express has learnt. The 'star protected eyewitness', who the National Investigation Agency tracked with help from the Jammu and Kashmir police and the central intelligence agencies, had been confronted by the three Pakistan-based terrorists in the Baisaran meadow minutes after the attack, it is learnt. Last month, the NIA had arrested two locals – Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad – for allegedly harbouring the attackers. 'They disclosed the identities of the three armed terrorists and confirmed that they were Pakistani nationals affiliated to the Lashkar-e-Toiba,' an NIA spokesperson had said. As its probe proceeded, the NIA found a local – now the star witness – who was able to share key details of what transpired in the minutes after the attack. He is learnt to have told investigators that the gunmen stopped him while they were leaving Baisaran after gunning down the civilians. 'He was asked to recite the kalma, and once he started speaking in his local accent, they spared him. They started celebratory firing – four rounds were shot in the air,' said a source, who is familiar with his statement. On the basis of his statement, the investigation team seized four used cartridges from the spot. The man is also learnt to have told investigators that he saw Parvaiz and Bashir – the two arrested locals – allegedly standing near a hill and looking after the belongings of the attackers, which the gunmen eventually collected from them. Investigators have also questioned Parvaiz and Bashir at length, based on which they now know what transpired in the run-up to the attack. 'Parvaiz has claimed that a day before the incident, all three attackers came to his house around 3:30 pm and asked for food. They were carrying weapons. His wife served them food, and they sat for around four hours, asking questions related to security arrangements in Baisaran, tourist gathering spots, routes, and timings,' a source in a central intelligence agency said. Before leaving, the men asked Parvaiz's wife to pack some spices and uncooked rice, and gave the family five notes of Rs 500. 'Afterwards, they met Bashir. They asked them (the two locals) to reach Baisaran around 12:30 pm on April 22 and left for a seasonal dhok (hut) at Hill Park,' the source said. Sources said one of the attackers is believed to be Suleiman Shah, who was involved in the killing of seven employees of a firm constructing the Z-Morh tunnel on the Srinagar-Sonamarg highway on October 20 last year.

26/11 Mumbai attack: Delhi court grants NIA time to respond to Tahawwur Rana's plea
A Delhi court on Tuesday granted time to the National Investigating Agency (NIA) on a plea filed by 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana seeking regular telephonic conversations with his family. Special judge Chander Jit Singh posted the matter on July 25. On Tuesday, legal aid counsel Piyush Sachdev appeared for Rana during the in-camera proceedings. The court, in the meantime, allowed Rana's plea for a bed and mattress in prison on the ground that he was aged over 64 years and suffered from some medical ailments. The prison authorities had opposed Rana's plea saying rules prescribed beds to only those inmates who were 65. Live Events NIA also informed the court that it provided Rana's complete medical history to the prison authorities. On July 9, the court extended the accused's judicial custody till August 13. Rana is a close associate of 26/11 main conspirator David Coleman Headley alias Daood Gilani, a US citizen. He was brought to India after the US Supreme Court on April 4 dismissed his review plea against his extradition to India . On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists went on a rampage, carrying out a coordinated attack on a railway station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish centre, after they sneaked into India's financial capital through the sea route. A total of 166 people were killed in the nearly 60-hour assault.
