Dunelm slash 30% off 'stylish and comfortable' garden lounger ahead of UK heatwave

Daily Record3 days ago

'This chair is so comfortable we bought a second one to keep at my daughters.'
Now that we are well and truly into the summer months, many of us are hoping to spend as much time outdoors as possible - if the weather permits it. With many people deciding to spruce up their gardens this year to be ready for family gatherings and an incoming UK heatwave, one must-have item is suitable chairs.
While ordinary garden chairs can be practical and do their job well, for those who want to make the most of the nice weather and take their relaxation to the next level, purchasing a lounger may be a better choice. Whether used for sunbathing or enjoying a book, a lounger lets you stretch out and fully relax.
Included in the massive Dunelm summer sale, the popular Amsterdam Charcoal Lounger has been given a 30 per cent chop to its price tag. Normally retailing for £79, shoppers can now buy the comfortable seat for £55.30.
However, shoppers will need to be quick as Dunelm's sale is set to end at midnight this Sunday - June 22.
Made with a 'breathable' mesh fabric and accompanied by a removable pillow, this grey lounger is said to be ideal for camping, fishing, beach trips and picnics. However, shoppers also say that it is "perfect for lounging in the garden", reports Liverpool Echo.
Adding to its practicality, the lounger is foldable and lightweight, so it can easily be taken to any destination. For added comfort, shoppers can also adjust the lounger until they find their perfect lounging position that they will refuse to move from for the rest of the day.
Designed to be both stylish and durable, Dunelm states that this 4.7 star rated lounger will bring 'effortless comfort to any setting'.

Alternatively, shoppers can also get the Helsinki Lounger from Dunelm. Available in coral, aqua, Ashley blue and charcoal, this comfy lounger is priced at £35 and is promised to come with a quick delivery. Constructed with durable materials, this lounger was built to withstand outdoor conditions.
Alternatively, Amazon is selling its Basic Lounge Chair for the reduced price of £48.99 (RRP £53.89). With over 45,500 ratings, this popular lounge chair comes with a pillow and has a weight capacity of 136KG. Made with a powder-coated steel frame, this chair is said to give users a stress-free weightless feel.
The Amsterdam Lounger is a popular product amongst Dunelm shoppers as it currently boasts a 4.7 star rating. Additionally, none of the customers went lower than four stars when leaving their reviews.
One delighted shopper said: "Very comfortable reclining lounger Well constructed, all weather covering. Perfect for relaxing in garden. Tempted to buy a second one. Consider good value."
With another writing: "Fantastic lounger very comfortable and stylish. Love that the armrests are thicker than my last loungers, a lot more comfy and roomy. Relaxing in these is lovely and the material keeps you cool."
However, they did go on to add: "I dropped my rating by one star due to the fact that these don't recline back enough for my liking, just a few inches more would make them perfect."
Another shopper also gave a mixed review, saying: "This is the same chair as the Helsinki but with a smart cushioned cover. Pros: Very very very comfortable, no bar under our knees (important for shorties), easy to fold, folds very flat, neck cushion makes good lumber cushion, smart. Better, smarter and cheaper than the expensive ones at the garden centre.
"Cons: very wide so takes up more space, the locking mechanism doesn't lock very tight but can be wedged tight without damaging it."
However, another five-star reviewer added: "This chair is so comfortable we bought a second one to keep at my daughters, great colour, extremely comfortable and easy to store as folds up well. 10/10."

Anyone suffering from heatwave urged to do one thing before going to bed

This Morning cleaning guru Lynsey Crombie, aka the Queen of Clean, shares her simple trick for tackling yellow armpit stains as a result of sweat and deodorant build-up Summer is a season filled with stain danger, from the potential for ketchup or barbecue sauce to drip out of our burgers on to pristine clothes, not to mention constant applications of SPF that leave clothes with cream marks to the heat, making people sweat through their clothes. Thankfully This Morning cleaning guru LYNSEY CROMBIE aka Queen of Clean knows all the tricks for tackling stubborn marks ensuring that you can breeze through the heatwave looking and feeling clean and fresh. Here she shares her tips: FAKE TAN FIASCO If you're a regular fake tan user, you'll be all too familiar with the orange tint it can leave behind on your toilet seat. To lift the stain, you'll need to use products that help dissolve the dyes and oils in fake tan that stick to surfaces like ceramic or plastic. A cream cleaner, such as Cif lifts the pigment while giving the bowl a gentle scrub. The mild abrasives break down the staining without damaging the toilet seat surface. A damp Magic Eraser is ideal for quick fixes as the melamine foam acts like ultra-fine sandpaper, great for buffing away stains without harsh chemicals. For really stubborn marks, acetone nail polish remover cuts through the oily residues in fake tan - just be sure to test on a small patch first. SAUCY STAINS Summer BBQs are super-relaxing, until BBQ sauce or ketchup drips on to your favourite white top. Scrape off excess sauce using a blunt knife to avoid rubbing it deeper into the fabric. Flip the item inside out and rinse under cold running water to push the sauce out from the back, this helps lift the stain rather than spread it. Cold water also prevents the stain from setting. Turn the item right-side out, add a blob of washing-up liquid directly to the area, and pop in the wash as normal. Washing-up liquid cuts through the grease and sugar in BBQ sauces. The 15 Minute Clean: The Quickest Way to a Sparkling Home, £14.99, is available on Amazon, currently on offer for £12.29. SWEATY ARMPITS Underarm stains from sweat and deodorant build-up can turn hard and crispy, and washing alone doesn't always do the trick. Before washing, spray the underarm area (from the inside of the garment) liberally with white vinegar. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then wash as usual. The white vinegar breaks down the salt, sweat, and aluminium in deodorants, softening the build-up so it can wash away cleanly. GREASE IS THE WORD Grease, from bbq burgers or mayo can be tricky to zap, but not if you act fast! Apply lemon juice to the stain. Lemon is a natural degreaser - the acid helps break down the oily residue. Then sprinkle bicarbonate of soda or corn starch on top - they both act like sponges drawing oil out of the fabric and absorbing the loosened grease. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes, rinse with cold water, then wash as normal. SUNCREAM SAVE Suncream can be a real pain to get out of clothes and the longer you leave it the worse it'll get. If you are out and about when the stain occurs, gently blot to absorb as much as the cream as you can. Or use hand sanitiser to cover the stain - this will stop if from spreading. At the beach? Cover the stain with sand to dry it out. As soon as you can, rinse the stain from the reverse under a cold water tap, to help push it out of the fabric. Then try: White vinegar: This can help break down the oil base of the suncream - simply cover the stain in the vinegar then leave for 30 minutes. Eucalyptus oil: This has magical stain removal qualities and it smells incredible. Coat your stain in the stuff, leave for 15 minutes. After applying either white vinegar or eucalyptus oil, wash the garment at the hottest temperature that's safe for the fabric, and check for the stain again before you dry. Once the item has dried you won't get the stain out. So if there is still a trace of the stain repeat this process again. Avoid the tumble dryer because any trace of the stain will become permanent. Instead air dry on the washing line or on a clothes airer.

Three ways to pack your fridge with fresh vegetables for as long as possible

Shield yourself from the sun with a parasol from Dunelm which is our Deal of the Day SUN SAVERS Three ways to pack your fridge with fresh vegetables for as long as possible Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SORTED fridge can help save you money. It won't just look tidy, it will cut down on food waste which is bad for your purse and for the planet. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up With a bit of organisation, you can save food from going off, see what needs to be eaten and be inspired to freshen up your meals. GET IN THE ZONE: If you use each part of the fridge in the right way, you'll keep food fresher for longer. Keep ready-to-eat foods on the top shelf, from leftovers to open jars. The middle shelf is perfect for milk, cheese and yoghurt. While on the bottom shelf, store raw meat and fish. Put a tray underneath to catch any dips. Keep fruit and veg in the salad drawers. If you can adjust the humidity, go high for leafy greens and low for fruit. The fridge door is warmer, so is perfect for sauces and fruit juice. MIX AND MATCH: Some fruit and vegetables give off high levels of the natural ripening chemical ethylene, which means they can spoil produce placed nearby. Sophie Trueman from food waste campaign Too Good To Go, says: 'Apples are a major culprit along with pears, bananas, mangoes, plums and nectarines, so it's always best to try and store fruits like these away from each other so they ripen at a steadier pace.' Dunnes Stores fans go wild for NEW must-have summer staples Not all fruits and vegetables are sensitive to ethylene. Cherries, pineapples, grapefruit and blueberries can all be safely stored together or next to those that produce this gas. BERRY GOOD IDEAS: Store berries in the fridge as soon as buying them. Ideally, keep them in a breathable container lined with kitchen roll to absorb excess moisture. You can also line your salad drawer with paper towel to stop things getting soggy. Wrapping vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, green beans and carrots in foil will keep them crisper for longer. Keep salads and herbs away from the back of the fridge, where they could freeze and turn to mush. All prices on page correct at time of going to press. EXCLUSIVE Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have rented out ENTIRE Italian island for six days for their glamorous wedding

It's the luxurious, extravagant event that everyone's been waiting years for - and one that some people still can't believe is happening - the union of Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. After a two-year-long engagement, the day is almost upon us, as the power couple are set to finally get married next week in Venice, Italy, in a summer extravaganza. The guest list is thought to have less than 200 people, with suspected guests including A-listers like Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and even members of the Trump family. The Amazon boss has booked the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, one of the largest and grandest buildings in the historical center of Venice, as part of the multi-day-long extravaganza of celebrations. Up until now, little has been known about what may be dubbed as the wedding of the year - but a source in Italy has exclusively revealed to the Daily Mail all of the intimate details that you need to know. According to the insider, Bezos' $500 million superyacht, Koru, will be moored off the coast of San Georgio Maggiore island, which is home to the famous Basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore, a 16th century Benedictine church. They shared that the island is 'off-limits to visitors' from June 24 to June 29, with the mayor believing that the wedding will take place on the yacht - although The Misericodria, an iconic event space in Venice, has been boked out from June 26 to June 28. It's unclear if the space is related to their wedding, but the insider added that a private tender service is said to be taking guests from the island to the yacht. In addition to the private tenders, the source revealed that around 60 of Venice's water taxis are reserved for the week, with some of the 400 gondolas on the island out of commission as well. The insider also confirmed that Venice is expecting '200 guests who will stay at local hotels,' although it's unclear which ones. Some of the most expensive and high-end hotels in the Italian city include The Aman, where you can book a room for over $2,700 per night, and Hotel Cipriani, which goes for over $2,000 per night. Once their guests arrive, they will be treated to a few luxurious surprises, of course. The source confirmed to the Daily Mail that local bakery Rosa Salva Venetia will be providing pastries for the extravagant weekend. The delicious menu items at the bakery include tiramisu, flaky, cream-filled pastries, and fritelli, a traditional Italian fried treat. However, Rosa Salva Venetia will not be providing the wedding cake for the loved-up couple. The insider also confirmed that Venice is expecting '200 guests who will stay at local hotels,' although it's unclear which ones Our source claimed that a celebrity wedding planner, who is not working this event, has heard that guests will receive 'opulent' gifts just for attending the nuptials. And it looks like all of this opulence is thanks to Sanchez herself, as her hubby-to-be revealed in a 2023 Vogue interview that he wouldn't dare get involved with wedding planning. 'Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?' Bezos told the outlet when he was asked if he had a big part in the preparations. During the interview, the future Mrs. Bezos listed Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino as some of her favorite designers, but didn't share anything about which one will make her gown - or gowns, for that matter. Separate sources recently told the Daily Mail that the festivities are expected to cost anywhere from $15 to $20 million. Many things went into the estimate of the total cost, including transportation fees, her wedding dress and catering. While their wedding is rapidly approaching, a psychic who has accurately predicted a number of monumental world events told the Daily Mail earlier this week that believes the pair will be divorced by 2029. Athos Salomé, 38, from Brazil, is often referred to as the 'Living Nostradamus' due to his numerous accurate predictions - including his forecasting of the coronavirus pandemic, Queen Elizabeth II's death and the Microsoft global outage. The insider shared that the island is 'off-limits to visitors' from June 24 to June 29, with the mayor believing that the wedding will take place on Jeff's yacht (stock image) He said that their wedding will go forward as planned, he believes their 'motivations' are 'far from romantic love.' 'The marriage is more of a contract for image, power and legacy perpetuation than a celebration of affection,' Salomé told the Daily Mail. 'Lauren embodies the archetype of the idealized woman in Bezos' new public phase. The union will last for a while, but it is not eternal,' he continued. The clairvoyant revealed that he's 'certain' their marriage has an 'end' - and claimed that it will be between 2028 and 2029, if not sooner. 'It will be a clean divorce, without scandal. A meticulously planned separation, protected by confidentiality clauses and image strategies,' he explained.
