Underwriter cashes in for returning James Doyle at Ayr
Paddy Power cut Underwiter to 8-1 from 12s for the same race at Royal Ascot and Doyle said: 'I was very pleased with him, obviously that was my first look at him today.
'He did everything very professionally on the way to the start and through the run he was very relaxed, did everything the right way round.
'I kicked myself a little bit as I was told he was very relaxed so I got into him early, but he skipped away and then spent a furlong looking around.
'I didn't expect him to pick up that well. He'd done his breeze and a few other bits, but he was very professional. I was able to teach him a little and that will hopefully stand him in good stead.
'We've plenty more to come out and we'll try to slot them all in. We were successful with Electrolyte up here and he was just touched off in the Coventry, so Archie has a good handle on these speed horses.'
Doyle was out for just over a month with a broken collar bone and paid tribute to the staff at Peter O'Sullevan House in Newmarket.
He told Racing TV: 'There's never a nice time for anything like that to happen, but it was frustrating watching the Guineas and the French Guineas and things like that, but it's only four weeks since my operation so it's a testament to the guys at Sir Peter O'Sullevan House, I really appreciate it.'

Bundesliga pair can make most of favourable draw Three teams – Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City – are above Bayern Munich in the outright betting for the Club World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 13, but the Bavarians are the value selection at 13/2. Having wrapped up the Bundesliga in early May after exiting the Champions League in April, Bayern should be a touch fresher than other market leaders. They were also unlucky to exit the Champions League in the quarter-final stage against Inter Milan, having dominated both legs with 40 shots recorded in total. Their squad is talented and deep, with Jonathan Tah arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in time for this tournament, while star attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala will be raring to go after recovering from an injury that meant he missed the last few weeks of the season. Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are worth a wager at 13/10 to reach the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup. Dortmund endured a tricky 2024-25 season but they are in a better place under Niko Kovac and finished the campaign strongly with seven wins and a draw from their last eight games. The fact they have secured Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland in time for this tournament shows they will be taking it seriously and the 2023-24 Champions League runners-up find themselves in one of the easier groups with Fluminense, Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns in Group F. Brazilians could surprise a few Bettors will have to work hard to find value in the group betting but Palmeiras are a good pick at 9/5 to win Group A, while Saudi side Al-Hilal are worth backing to make it out of Group H at 11/10. Al-Ahly are a force in African football but could struggle in this section and it is asking a lot of new head coach Jose Riveiro to get them out of the group just weeks after taking charge. Palmeiras qualified for the Club World Cup thanks to their 2021 triumph in the Copa Libertadores but they were also Brazilian Serie A champions in 2022 and 2023. Chelsea-bound teenager Estevao is a star in the making and will want to show what he is about, while Facundo Torres and former Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid ace Paulinho are serious dangers in attack. Palmeiras are an organised group who play at high intensity and they could be in for a good campaign. Five-time Club World Cup champions Real Madrid are unsurprising favourites to win Group H but they could be joined in the last 16 by Al-Hilal, who can finish above Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca. In Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Joao Cancelo, Malcom and Salem Al-Dawsari, the Saudi Pro League outfit have genuine quality in their ranks and the appointment of former Inter boss Simone Inzaghi as manager could be a masterstroke. Experience Kane targets more silverware Kylian Mbappe is 5/1 favourite to be Club World Cup top goalscorer but the Frenchman was not even Real Madrid's leading scorer in the past season's Champions League. Instead, the value is with Harry Kane at 7/1. Starved of silverware at Tottenham Hotspur, the England frontman will be eager to add to his Bundesliga success with Bayern Munich in 2024-25 and the Germans should go far in the tournament. Kane netted 26 goals in 31 appearances in the German top flight this past campaign, averaging a goal every 92 minutes, and only Raphinha and Serhou Guirassy (both 13) bettered his tally of 11 goals in the Champions League despite Bayern exiting in the quarter-finals. Given Bayern's opening match is against New Zealand Northern League side Auckland City, the Three Lions hitman has a great chance to get going with goals in this tournament.

‘Monster' Royal Ascot horse outruns a car in blistering workout under Ryan Moore – as bookies scramble to slash price
EVERY punter knows the famous story of how legendary racehorse Frankel famously outran the 7.13am train from Newmarket to Cambridge. But it looks like a new legend could be made after a 'monster' Royal Ascot runner appeared to show more zip than a car in a 'blistering' piece of work. Millionaire runner Satono Reve impressed all those who saw him on the July track at Newmarket on Wednesday morning. Trained by Noriyuki Hori, the international raider looked a machine when extending under the watchful eye of his master trainer. Footage of his work showed a car in the distance fail to get up close to the six-year-old as he absolutely flew past those near the post. And his workmate, a local horse trained by James Horton, was soon left trailing in his wake. But it was Moore's role in the saddle that really got tongues wagging ahead of Satono Reve's intended run in the star-studded Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes next Saturday. Satono Reve has won seven of his 11 career races and amassed more than £2.5million in prize money. British punters may not know much about him but he has form against Ka Ying Rising - officially the best sprinter in the world. Paddy's Paul Binfield said: "There's been a bit of interest for the Japanese raider this morning and while it's hard to equate winning a Grade One at Chukyo with the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, the volume we've seen has forced us into evasive action and the Hori-trained runner is into 6-1 from 8s." Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes added: "Satono Reve placed behind superstar Ka Ying Rising on both his previous trips abroad, and punters are excited to see how that translates at Royal Ascot." Punters absolutely loved what they saw. One said Satono Reve 'burned up the turf' while another added in response to the footage simply: "Monster." Cumbernauld Colts boss has target date to play on new Broadwood pitch as side prepare for 'outside' friendlies
John Doyle on the Lowland League side's pre-season schedule Cumbernauld Colts boss John Doyle is hoping his side can get their first game on the new Broadwood pitch before they kick off their Lowland League campaign on July 26. The pitch at the stadium is being relayed this summer and owners North Lanarkshire Council have told the club - and groundsharing Hamilton Accies - that the surface will be ready in time for the start of the new season. Colts will play their home friendlies on the outside public pitch at Broadwood while the works are going on, but Doyle is hopeful their final friendly on July 19 against local rivals Cumbernauld United for the pre-season Cumbernauld Cup will be played inside Broadwood. He said: 'Broadwood outside is not ideal preparation. You would want to get a few games on the new surface and find your feet on it before the start of the season, but it is what it is. 'We are hoping to play our last friendly on July 19 against Cumbernauld United on the pitch, but it is still to be confirmed yet that the pitch will be ready in time. 'We hope that will be the first time we get to use it and we will get to train on it that week in the build-up to our first league game of the season. 'The council haven't told us a date but they have guaranteed it will be by the first league game of the season, which is July 26.' Colts announced their pre-season friendlies will kick off on June 26 with a clash against West Park United, kick-off 1.30pm outside at Broadwood. That is followed by a trip to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy on June 30, kick-off 8pm, and a clash with St Mirren B is scheduled for July, although details for that are to be confirmed. Shotts Bon Accord will come to Broadwood on July 12, kick-off 2pm, and Colts will then visit Camelon Juniors on July 15, kick-off 7.30pm, before finishing up with the clash against Cumbernauld United on July 19. The club will announce exact details on that in due course.
