Driver flown to Massachusetts hospital after crash on I-93 in New Hampshire
Multiple lanes were closed on Interstate 93 for hours on Wednesday after a crash that seriously injured a driver in New Hampshire, state police said Thursday morning.
The condition of the unidentified driver, who was flown to a Massachusetts hospital after the crash, was not known on Thursday.
The drivers were not identified on Thursday pending an ongoing investigation and notification of next of kin, state police said.
At 9:21 a.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a report of a crash on I-93 southbound in Windham, state police said.
A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a 2024 silver Jeep Compass struck a 2015 yellow Peterbilt tractor-trailer before driving off the left side of the road and hitting an embankment.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The crash impacted traffic for approximately three hours.
All aspects of the crash remain under investigation.

5 hurt as ambulance, police SUV crash blocks apart in Manchester
Five people were injured in nearly back-to-back crashes near Elliot Hospital involving an ambulance, a police SUV and two other cars Wednesday. An AMR ambulance and a Volvo wagon collided around 11:40 a.m. near the entrance to the hospital and the intersection of Tarrytown Road and Nelson Street, Manchester fire officials said. The ambulance was responding to a call when the collision caused the driver to lose control and the rig rolled over. Manchester Police said the ambulance was entering the intersection with its lights and siren activated when the accident happened. The two medics in the front seat of the ambulance were trapped inside, but fire crews helped them remove the front windshield so they could get out. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Police said the driver of the Volvo reported no injuries. While crews were working at that crash scene, a Ford Explorer driven by a Manchester Police officer collided with a Jeep Compass near the intersection of Valley and Jewett streets, just a few blocks over and near the other side of the Elliot. The Jeep rolled over and crews had to extricate the driver and a passenger who were trapped inside, fire officials said. Doors were removed from the driver's side of the Jeep. Police said the officer and the two occupants of the Jeep were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the people involved were not released. Multi-vehicle crash on Maine Turnpike after deer struck, killed, state police say
A deer strike led to a multi-vehicle crash involving a fuel truck on the Maine Turnpike, state police said Wednesday. Minor injuries were reported, state police said. The deer did not survive. At around 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, troopers responded to a multi-vehicle crash at mile marker 13 southbound on the Maine Turnpike in York, state police said. An initial investigation found that the driver of a red Mitsubishi Mirage struck a deer in the center lane and the vehicle became disabled. The driver got out of the vehicle and moved to a safe location off the roadway, state police said, as the vehicle could not be moved from its position. Shortly after, a commercial vehicle carrying fuel crested the hill behind the crash scene and was unable to stop in time, state police said. The truck struck the disabled Mitsubishi, causing it to be pushed into the median. The impact also caused the commercial fuel truck to veer to the right and collide with a BMW crossover vehicle. Both the truck and BMW came to rest off the right side of the roadway. Authorities limited southbound traffic to one lane for approximately one hour and 15 minutes while emergency crews responded to the scene. The Wells Fire Department, York Police Department, the Maine Turnpike Authority, National Wrecker Service, and Troop K Commercial Vehicle Enforcement also responded. This is a developing story. Serious crash involving bicyclist shuts down road in Bellingham
A serious crash involving a bicyclist is expected to shut down a Bellingham road for most of Monday afternoon. Bellingham police posted on social media that officers and firefighters were responding to the serious crash involving a bicyclist in the area of South Main Street.
