Sana Yousaf, a 17-year-old Pakistani social media influencer and advocate for women's education and cultural heritage, was shot dead inside her home in Islamabad in what police are probing as a possible case of honour killing. Known widely for her vibrant TikTok and Instagram presence- where she had nearly 500,000 followers- Sana Yousaf hailed from Upper Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and had gained popularity for her videos promoting Chitrali traditions and women's empowerment.
Media reports claimed that Sana Yousaf was allegedly killed at point-blank range by a relative who had visited her home in Islamabad's Sector G-13. The suspect spoke briefly with her outside the house before entering, firing multiple shots and fleeing the scene, reports claimed.
Her body was sent to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for autopsy. No arrests have been made so far but authorities have launched a manhunt and are considering multiple motives.

Sharmistha Panoli granted interim bail by Calcutta High Court
The Calcutta High Court on Thursday granted interim bail to influencer Sharmistha Panoli , arrested for allegedly posting video on social media with communal comments. The court had denied bail to the student on Tuesday. Panoli, a 22-year-old Pune law student, was arrested in Gurugram by Kolkata Police on Friday night after a social media post allegedly containing derogatory remarks went viral. The video, posted on Instagram, triggered widespread backlash for allegedly insulting a religious community and the Prophet Muhammad, despite Panoli issuing an unconditional apology and removing the content. On Saturday, a Kolkata court sent Panoli to judicial custody till June 13. On May 14, she posted a video in response to a Pakistani social media user who had questioned India's stance following the Pahalgam terror attack. With no response to the notices, a court in Kolkata issued an arrest warrant. Panoli was detained in Gurugram and brought to Kolkata on transit remand. Police also seized her phone and laptop for forensic analysis, looking for evidence of further offensive or manipulated content. In response to criticism of the arrest, Kolkata Police stated, 'All legal procedures were duly adhered to. All attempts were made to serve notice, but she was found absconding on every occasion. Consequently, a warrant of arrest was issued by the competent court… We urge all concerned to refrain from spreading unverified or speculative content and to rely on authentic sources.'

Panoli was arrested on May 30. The high court directed Panoli to furnish a bond worth Rs 10,000. The 22-year-old, who was taken into custody by Kolkata Police from Gurugram last Friday, had been sent to judicial custody by a local court in Kolkata till June 13. However, her legal team moved the high court seeking relief, arguing that the case was a matter of free speech and that Panoli had already removed the controversial video and issued an apology. Her counsel, Md Samimuddin, said the court directed the state to ensure Panoli receives basic amenities while in custody, noting that such provisions were currently lacking. 'The High Court has also instructed the authorities not to register any fresh FIRs on the same cause of action,' he added. The arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by Wajahat Khan Qadri at the Garden Reach police station in Kolkata.
