Expert picks & predictions for Monday's Wizards vs. Raptors game
'The Wizards are 3-4 ATS over the last seven games and I like this as a fade spot on them. Washington has not covered back-to-back games since the contest prior to and after the All-Star break. I think Toronto gets its revenge after Saturday's heartbreaker and covers with margin.'

Ravens made a slew of roster moves, including adding two tight ends and waiving a kicker

Baltimore signed two tight ends and added Brent Urban among eight roster moves made by the Ravens on Saturday afternoon Baltimore announced eight total roster moves on Saturday and Sunday, with the shocker being the release of undrafted rookie kicker John Hoyland. In all, the Ravens signed Brent Urban, Scotty Washington, and Baylor Cupp, while releasing Hoyland, tight end Sam Pitz, and linebacker Diwun Black. Signed Brent Urban Selected by Baltimore in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft, Urban will enter Year 12 in the league looking to help bolster one of the league's top defensive line groups. Urban played in 13 games last season and made 20 tackles. He helped the Ravens rank as the NFL's top run defense. Signed TE Scotty Washington A big, physical tight end, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Washington was on Baltimore's practice squad the last two years and will return with Isaiah Likely rehabbing a surgically repaired foot. Signed TE Baylor Cupp The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Cupp is a former top recruit who played collegiately at Texas A&M and Texas Tech and spent last year on the Chiefs' practice squad. Waived K John Hoyland Hoyland had been part of a two-man competition with Tyler Loop to replace Justin Tucker as Baltimore's kicker, but he appears to have lost out to the sixth-round pick from Arizona. Waived TE Sam Pitz The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Minnesota Duluth product caught 71 balls for 940 yards and 17 touchdowns during a four-year college career, including a 33-360-2 line in 11 games last year. Waived LB Diwun Black Black (6-3, 246) logged 23 tackles (19 solo), including six tackles for loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles during his lone season at Temple. Signed free agent RB D'Ernest Johnson Johnson spent his first four seasons in Cleveland and the last two years in Jacksonville. He has 214 career carries for 989 yards and three touchdowns. He'll join Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, Keaton Mitchell, and Rasheen Ali on the Ravens' depth chart. Waived T Ozzie Hutchinson Hutchinson (6-4, 305) signed with Baltimore following the 2025 NFL draft after he appeared in 41 games during his stint at Albany (2019-23), earning second-team All-CAA honors in his final season.

49ers special teams coordinator provides update on kicker competition

While the San Francisco 49ers have been working their way through their 2025 training camp at their SAP Performance Facility in Santa Clara, California, most of their starting jobs are already figured out. However, arguably their biggest spot that's yet to be decided is their kicker, with Jake Moody and Greg Joseph both vying for the job. With Moody making 3-of-4 attempts (miss from 48 yards) on Saturday and Joseph making 4-for-4, Joseph has now made one more kick (22) than Moody has (21) in 24 attempts each through the nine training camp sessions. After Saturday's practice, special teams coordinator Brant Boyer shared his thoughts on the battle. 'Well, I think they're really close," Boyer said. "I think that they're both doing a great job. There's not a ton of separation there. Both of them rebounded from some days that they could have kicked better, and I thought they kicked pretty solid today. It's just a matter of who's going to execute when the game comes down to it, and they're competing. They're doing everything we're asking them to do, and we're looking forward to see how it's going to shake out.' Moody, 25, was San Francisco's third-round pick (No. 99 overall) in the 2023 NFL draft out of Michigan, where he earned All-Big Ten honors twice, All-American honors twice and the Lou Groza Award (given to best kicker in college football) once. As a rookie, he was great, making 21 of his 25 field goals (84%) and a league-leading 60 of his 61 extra points (98.4%). However, he struggled last year, going just 24-of-34 (70.6%) on field goals. Joseph, 31, signed with the 49ers this offseason after stints with the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Washington Commanders and the New York Jets since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018. In his career, he's made 116 of his 141 field goal attempts (82.3%) and 112 of 124 extra points (90.3%). Last year, he spent time with the Giants, Commanders and Jets and made 16-of-20 field goals (80%) and all 11 extra points. With both kickers performing roughly the same through two weeks of practices, the upcoming preseason showdowns with the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers could really swing the battle one way or another. The 49ers should be hoping that Moody steps up and delivers with his new mechanics, as having the younger kicker that they can rely on for years to come would be a great building block.
