Former England captain Owen Farrell seals Saracens return
The former England captain called time on his 16-year stay with the Gallagher Premiership side at the end of last season.
But fly-half Farrell has agreed to leave Racing 92 and return to Saracens after a disappointing, injury-disrupted campaign with the Top 14 outfit.

He told the club's official website: 'Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously.
'Having watched from afar this season, it is clear to see that the club has incredible potential, and I can't wait to get back in the mix for the 25/26 season.'
The 33-year-old ex-club captain has signed a two-year deal at the StoneX Stadium to rejoin a club with whom he won three European Cups and six Premiership crowns.
Farrell made his Saracens debut in 2008, 11 days after his 17th birthday, and amassed 256 appearances before heading for France.
He has won 112 England caps and made six Test appearances for the British and Irish Lions, although he has not been included in the squad – coached by his father Andy – for this summer's tour of Australia.
Farrell has not played Test rugby since the 2023 World Cup, initially taking a break to prioritise his mental wellbeing, before his move abroad made him ineligible for selection.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is hoping the vastly-experienced stand-off will play a role in what he believes will be an exciting future for the club.
McCall said: 'Owen has Saracens in his DNA. His competitive spirit is woven into the fabric of this club and we are delighted he has chosen to come home.
'He returns to a young group full of potential, players eager to learn, play and push for success. We know he will love being part of where this group, and this club, are headed.'

However, FIFA have already totted up aggregate crowds of more than 250,000 for the tournament and are fully expecting it to catch light in the later rounds with big showdowns lined up. They saw gates in excess of 60,000 for Inter Miami's opener and 80,000-plus in the Rose Bowl to watch PSG beat Atletico Madrid. Chelsea was a big disappointment on Monday in Atlanta but it was played at 3pm local time on a normal working day and yet there is an expectation they will keep daytime games in next year's World Cup. However, Los Angeles getting through did mean a lower gate because if Mexican side Club America had won that play-off for the final spot there was an expectation they could have sold out the stadium in Atlanta three times over. There has also been decent TV viewing figures with Channel 5 reporting peak audiences in excess of 560,000 even for Bayern Munich 's 10-0 win over Auckland City. Even though the Chelsea game was a serious blow, FIFA expect the final and semi finals in the 82,500 capacity Met Life Stadium to be a huge attraction. They still see the Club World Cup as a work in progress, it will take time to catch on and to grow. But the feeling is that it has so far been a success rather than a flop despite the stay-away fans and public criticism of players being forced to play too many games. The newlyweds have been a pair since their college days, when Peyton was an aspiring tennis player and Johnston trying to win a pro contract in football. They met at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, with Peyton following her footie star beau to Nashville SC and CF Montreal before joining him in Scotland when he signed a five-yer deal to join the Glasgow giants in 2023. Peyton, 23, was a prominent player on Wake Forest's tennis programme for several years. Their plush hotel even had a tennis court for the two to enjoy a rally against one another. Peyton broke into the top 100 of the college tennis rankings in his first year and had made it to the qualifying stage of some professional events on the ITF World Tennis Tour. But she hung up her racket after her uni days were over. She posted on Instagram: "For 14 years, this sport has proven to be one of the toughest, but also one of the greatest. "I am thankful to have met all of the wonderful people in my life that will continue to be my best friends in the future. Gareth Southgate targets return to manage national team
Former England manager Gareth Southgate has applied to become the new head coach of Poland's national team, according to reports. The 54-year-old stepped down as England manager last July following his side's defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final. Southgate was linked with replacing Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager in October. However, he ruled out the prospect of making a quick return to management and made it clear he is in 'no rush' to find his next role after his resignation with England. 'I won't coach in the next year for sure, I'm certain of that,' Southgate said in October. 'I need to give myself time to make good decisions. When you come out of a really big role you need to give your body time, you need to give your mind time. 'I'm enjoying my life, so there's no rush. I'm fortunate that there are lots of opportunities presenting themselves.' According to Polish daily newspaper Przeglad Sportowy, Southgate has now submitted an application to become Poland's new head coach. The report adds that Southgate has also 'personally expressed his desire to take over' Poland's national side. Poland are looking for a new head coach following Michal Probierz's resignation last week. The decision came after Robert Lewandowski, Poland's record goalscorer, said he would not play for his country while Probierz is in charge after he was replaced as captain by Piotr Zielinski. 'Taking into account the circumstances and a loss of trust in the coach, I have decided to resign from playing for the Poland national team for as long as he remains in charge,' Lewandowski said in a statement on social media. 'I hope I will still have another chance to play again for the best fans in the world.' More Trending Probierz opted to step down as Poland's head coach and said in a statement: 'I have come to the conclusion that in the current situation the best decision for the good of the national team will be my resignation from the position of coach. 'Performing this function was the fulfilment of my professional dreams and the greatest honour in my life.' Probierz was appointed as Poland's head coach in September 2023 but his side finished bottom of their group at Euro 2024.
