Their fancy hotel had a tennis court on site
Johnston was a key part of Brendan Rodgers' squad that won the Premiership title and the Premier Sports Cup.
He missed from the spot in the Scottish Cup final penalty shootout, handing Aberdeen victory.
But he and his missus were all smiles again at their wedding just over a week ago.
And now they've been sunning it up in St Lucia, residing in the stunning Sugar Beach Viceroy Hotel.
Johnston posted a series of pictures from their time away together on his Instagram account, with the caption "Honeymooned :)".
Plenty of fans replied to the post to say congratulations or to comment on how stunning their holiday looked.
One Hoops die-hard even remarked: "A slice of Paradise."
The couple got engaged last year in July in the height of the summer.
Johnston proposed at the iconic Turnberry golf resort, with the course's famous lighthouse in full view.
That was on the back of another luxury holiday not unlike their honeymoon this year.
Celtic transfer special - Nygren in and Kyogo to return
But last off-season they headed for the sun-soaked Amalfi coast rather than the Caribbean.
The newlyweds have been a pair since their college days, when Peyton was an aspiring tennis player and Johnston trying to win a pro contract in football.
They met at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, with Peyton following her footie star beau to Nashville SC and CF Montreal before joining him in Scotland when he signed a five-yer deal to join the Glasgow giants in 2023.
Peyton, 23, was a prominent player on Wake Forest's tennis programme for several years.
Their plush hotel even had a tennis court for the two to enjoy a rally against one another.
Peyton broke into the top 100 of the college tennis rankings in his first year and had made it to the qualifying stage of some professional events on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
But she hung up her racket after her uni days were over.
She posted on Instagram: "For 14 years, this sport has proven to be one of the toughest, but also one of the greatest.
"I am thankful to have met all of the wonderful people in my life that will continue to be my best friends in the future.
"These past fouryears have been difficult, but fun, and I loved this university with all of my heart."

Presenter Aggie MacKenzie pays tribute to 'incredible' and 'fierce' Kim Woodburn Woodburn, whose death following a short illness was confirmed by her manager, would visit dirty homes with MacKenzie on the Channel 4 show, and proceed to clean them, with the duo sharing tips as they went Aggie Mackenzie Kim Woodburn (Image: Channel 4 ) TV presenter Aggie MacKenzie, who rose to fame presenting How Clean Is Your House? with Kim Woodburn, has paid tribute to her co-presenter, describing her as "incredible" and "fierce", after she died at the age of 83. Woodburn, whose death following a short illness was confirmed by her manager, would visit dirty homes with MacKenzie on the Channel 4 show, and proceed to clean them, with the duo sharing tips as they went. In a statement, MacKenzie said: "Kim was a tormented soul, but now she's finally at peace. We clashed often. Behind the fierce persona was deep pain and incredible strength. "She survived because she had to. I hope she's resting now. She was an unforgettable woman." The highly camp show, with its dramatic music and Woodburn's scolding of the offending homeowners, proved a huge hit, turning the two into overnight stars. The show, which ran from 2003 to 2009, led to book deals and other endorsements, with Woodburn appearing on various reality shows. Article continues below Woodburn appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017 and was among the line-up for E4's Celebrity Cooking School in 2022. A statement from her manager said: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness. "Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person. "Her husband, Peter, is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate. "We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career. "We kindly ask that Kim's husband and close friends are given the time and privacy they need to grieve. "We will not be releasing any further details." Her husband added in a post on Woodburn's Instagram account: "My wonderful, beautiful, Kim passed away last night. God bless, my love." She finished in third place on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, when Loose Women star Coleen Nolan won and Irish pop twins Jedward were second. The twins, whose real names are John and Edward Grimes, said in a tribute to Woodburn: "Rest in peace Kim Woodburn, you're forever our Celebrity Big Brother friend. "We grew up watching you and to share those memories together, you will be truly missed for the TV gold you created for all generations. "You had our back when we got bullied in CBB and we will never forget that. There will never be another Kim Woodburn." In an Instagram post, the duo posted a picture of them hugging Woodburn on the show. The cleaning guru was regularly challenged over her angry outbursts and controversial attitude during her time in the Big Brother house. Nolan and Woodburn fell out during the show, and Woodburn appeared on Loose Women in 2018 in an attempt to settle their feud but things quickly turned nasty between them. Woodburn broke down as she discussed her traumatic childhood, before walking off the set and branding Nolan "lying trash". The clash sparked more than 3,000 complaints to regulator Ofcom, with the majority being about how the Loose Women panel treated Woodburn. During 2009's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! she was among the final three left in the jungle, with TV chef Gino D'Acampo crowned the winner. She had spats with several campmates, retired boxer Joe Bugner in particular, although the two later bonded. But she also took on some stomach-churning tasks in the jungle, chomping down on a kangaroo's testicle during one challenge while campmate Katie Price could only look on. She also managed to down a witchetty grub smoothie in a cocktails trial, after vomiting it back up on the first attempt. Article continues below Her autobiography titled Unbeaten: The Story Of My Brutal Childhood was published in 2006. She described a miserable childhood spent living between her parents, a succession of children's homes and a convent, before making an escape just before her 16th birthday. But it also described happier times as an adult, including her "wonderfully happy marriage" and becoming Britain's "queen of clean".

Meghan Markle insists her personal Instagram is for fun, not for promoting her brand
Meghan Markle insists her personal Instagram is for fun, not for promoting her brand "It's my space and my channel for joy" Meghan Markle (Image: Netflix ) The Duchess of Sussex has denied that her personal Instagram account, where she shares behind the scenes footage of family life, is a tool to promote her business. Meghan said returning to social media at the start of the year was "a great way to get my voice back", and she uses it for "authentic" sharing such as her twerking video. "It's my space and my channel for joy," she added. The former Suits actress went back on Instagram in January, first with footage of her running around a beach and writing 2025 in the sand, and then a montage from her Netflix show With Love, Meghan. The duchess has made numerous posts about her jam-selling venture As Ever, mentioning her As Ever Instagram account, but has also released photos and videos of the Sussexes' life with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. On Lili's fourth birthday last week, Meghan shared footage of herself twerking in a labour room while heavily pregnant with her daughter. Article continues below On the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, entrepreneur Grede asked Meghan about her return to social media, saying: "Are you thinking about it in the way that so many of us do as also a business tool?" Meghan replied: "Not for my personal account, no." Grede challenged her, asking: "Really?" Meghan said: "For my personal account? ...No." Grede told her: "Well that's the one we're all following." Meghan replied and laughed: "Well long as you're following As Ever too. "No, I think for me it was great way to get my voice back... It's my space and my channel for joy – that is the intention of my handle." Meghan's personal account @Meghan has 3.8 million followers. Her @aseverofficial account has 847,000 followers, and is linked into her @Meghan bio, as is her ShopMy collection. The duchess said of her personal account: "I think if part of it is just being able to authentically share in real time the things that are happening that I think someone might be able to last with, or enjoy or be inspired by." She said she wanted to post in a way that was "not overproduced". Addressing the recent twerking video, which showed her dancing to the Baby Mama song in a bid to bring on labour with Lili, Meghan described it as a reminder of a "real authentic fun life". The duchess said it felt liberating to be back on social media where she can share things on her own terms. "That wasn't yesterday. That was four years ago so it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still whole life, a real, authentic, fun life that's happening behind the scenes," Meghan said. "I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms." Article continues below She added: "It feels liberating."

Meghan warns ‘a lie can't live forever' in cryptic message over public narrative
The Duchess of Sussex has said that, were she able to rewrite her public narrative, she would simply "ask people to tell the truth". In a recent podcast interview, Meghan Markle alluded to a "lie" that has persisted for eight years. "A lie can't live forever," she stated. "Eight years is a long time, but not forever." Eight years ago, in 2017, Meghan was an actress who had just begun dating her now-husband, Prince Harry. As their relationship progressed, she prepared to transition into life as a member of the royal family. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Emma Grede (@emmagrede) The year also included Meghan's first meeting with the now- Princess of Wales and the beginnings of the Prince of Wales 's fall out with Harry after William urged his brother not to rush into the relationship. Enterpreneur Emma Grede asked Meghan on her Aspire podcast: 'I want to say this to you in the best way, because I wonder if you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything that you would do differently?' Meghan replied calmly: 'Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth.' The duchess gave no specifics about to whom who she was referring, but later referred to a 'lie' told eight years ago. Grede, a founding partner of Kim Kardashian 's shapewear brand Skims, said: 'You're very measured about it. I would just get so angry if I felt like everyone was lying about me all the time …' Meghan said: 'Peaks and valleys… Of course, I've gone through those chapters and you do a lot of work, you do a lot of self work and go, what's the why? It's happening for a reason.' She added that her 'dear friend' tennis champion Serena Williams told her 'a lie can't live forever'. The duchess said: 'She told me years ago, a lie can't live forever. Eight years is a long time, but not forever.' In her 2021 Oprah interview, Meghan said she could not be expected to stay silent if 'the Firm' 'is playing a part in perpetuating falsehoods' about her and Harry. She also publicly singled out Kate as having made her cry in the run-up to her wedding and said it was important for people to 'understand the truth'. It was a disagreement over flower girl dresses, but according to Harry's memoir this happened in 2018 in four days before the wedding, with Meghan saying the Palace failed to correct reports which said she left Kate in tears. In the YouTube footage of the podcast, which was peppered with numerous ad breaks fronted by Grede, Meghan acknowleded her life now was 'very different' from when she was an actress. She also addressed her recent twerking video, which showed her dancing to the Baby Mama song in a bid to bring on labour with Princess Lilibet, describing it as a reminder of a 'real authentic fun life.' The duchess said it felt liberating to back on social media where she can share things on her own terms. 'That wasn't yesterday. That was four years ago so it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still whole life, a real, authentic, fun life that's happening behind the scenes,' Meghan said. 'I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.' She added: 'It feels liberating.'
