A SUPERMARKET giant is adding more than 100 products to its Aldi Price Match.
Sainsbury's said it will now price match the discount retailer on 800 products - more than any other retailer.

The newly expanded range spans everything from summer picnic essentials to everyday bathroom basics, all priced to match Aldi.
Shoppers can now pick up dips like houmous and tzatziki, quiches, sausage rolls, and even ice cubes at unbeatable value, perfect for garden parties, barbecues, or sunny days at the park.
But the value doesn't stop at picnic fare.
Sainsbury's is also cutting prices on a broad selection of household staples, including shower gel, handwash, cotton pads, and period care, making everyday savings more accessible for families.
Richard Crampton, Sainsbury's Commercial Director for Fresh and Convenience, said: 'With household costs going up, we're working hard to help budgets stretch further.
"Our biggest ever Aldi Price Match means customers can save on summer favourites and daily essentials without compromising on quality.'
For the first time, the initiative also extends to alcohol, including red, white, and sparkling wines.
Bottles of Prosecco, Cava, and even Champagne are now included, just in time for summer celebrations.
This expansion comes as other major supermarkets scale back.
Tesco and Asda have both reduced the number of items in their Aldi price match schemes this year, leaving fewer savings on offer.
While Sainsbury's had also trimmed its list earlier in the year, this latest move marks a strong return to value-focused competition.
The Aldi Price Match is just one of several ways Sainsbury's is helping customers save.
It also offers Nectar Prices on over 9,000 products, personalised Your Nectar Prices, and its Low Everyday Prices programme, all designed to bring down the cost of the big shop.
Together, these initiatives saved customers £2 billion in 2024 alone.
It comes after a number of supermarkets have scaled back their Aldi price match schemes, as they struggled to keep up with the ultra-cheap supermarket.
Back in February, Asda said it would no longer run the offer and instead launched a new "Rollback" scheme which saw it reduce the cost of over 4,000 products.
In the same month,Sainsbury's said it would reduce the number of products offered in the scheme.
Tesco also removed over 100 products from its Aldi Price Match scheme.
Morrisons also runs an Aldi and Lidl price matching scheme for its customers.
It comes after Sainsbury's price squeeze earlier this year, when the retailer quietly cut its Aldi Price Match list by 75 items, dropping from 681 products in November to just 606.
The move followed a similar rollback from Tesco, which also scaled back its own price match offer.

WHAT IS PRICE MATCHING?
Price matching has become common practice among the 'Big Four' supermarkets as the cost of living crisis has sent shoppers on the hunt for cheap goods.
Morrisons price matches with Lidl and Aldi and will update prices to match the cheapest on a weekly basis.

Ocado price matches with Tesco on over 10,000 products, and will automatically give shoppers a voucher for the difference if they buy a product which is cheaper at the rival.
This includes promotions and Clubcard prices and is up to a maximum value of £10.
The items can vary and are either identical branded goods or similar and comparable own-brand items.
Items which are price matched can be seen when shopping on the Ocado website as they are marked with a red £ symbol.
It comes as world events such as Russia 's invasion of Ukraine and the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic have sent the cost of everyday goods skyrocketing in recent years.
While prices have cooled over the last 18 months, many shoppers are still feeling the pinch.
Supermarket loyalty schemes - which has one?
MOST UK supermarkets have loyalty schemes so customers can build up points and save money while they shop.
Here we round up what saving programmes you'll find at the big brands.
Iceland: Unlike other stores, you don't collect points with the Iceland Bonus Card. Instead, you load it up with money and Iceland will give you £1 for every £20 you save.
Lidl Plus: Lidl customers don't collect points when they shop, and are instead rewarded with personalised vouchers that gives them money off at the till.
Morrisons: The My Morrisons: Make Good Things Happen replaces the More Card and rewards customers with personalised money off vouchers via the app.
Sainsbury's: While Sainsbury's doesn't have a personal scheme, it does own the Nectar card which can also be used in Argos, eBay and other shops. You need 200 Nectar points to save up £1 to spend on your card. You need to spend at least £1 to get one Nectar point.
Tesco: Tesco Clubcard has over 17million members in the UK alone. You use it each time you shop and build up points that can be turned into vouchers - 150 points gets you a £1.50 voucher. Here you need to spend £1 in Tesco to get one point.
Waitrose: myWaitrose also doesn't allow you to collect points but instead you'll get access to free hot drinks, and discounts off certain brands in store.

In the history of Cadbury's Chocolate, the price of one item has come under the spotlight more than any other. Once just 10p, a Freddo can nowadays set you back 30p or more. The humble frog-shaped chocolate bar has been hit by another price change – this time to its multipacks. Cadbury Dairy Milk has reduced its multipack by 20%, while the shelf price has stayed the same. The Freddo 5x18g and Freddo Caramel 5×19.5g packs have now been replaced by 4x18g and 4×19.5g packs respectively, according to The Grocer. But the price remains the same, at £1.40 each. The change has been noted at Tesco, where the five packs disappeared earlier this month, only to reappear as four packs. Morrisons are selling the old five packs and new four packs, both at £1.40. Sainsbury's are still flogging the old multipacks while they are out of stock in Asda. Cadbury's owner Mondelez confirmed the weight of the multipacks has taken a hit due to 'significant higher input costs'. In a statement to The Grocer, they said the cost of crucial ingredients such as cocoa and dairy had gone up considerably. They added: 'Meanwhile, other costs like energy and transport, also remain high. 'This means that our products continue to be much more expensive to make and while we have absorbed these costs where possible, we still face considerable challenges. 'As a result of this difficult environment, we have had to make the decision to slightly reduce the weight of our Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo multipacks so that we can continue to provide consumers with the brands they love, without compromising on the great taste and quality they expect.' Cadbury has made similar changes to other multipacks. More Trending In March, Twirl packs shrunk from 10×21.5g a piece to 9×21.5g. The Freddo bar was actually first invented and sold by MacRobertson's, an Australian confectionery company. It was desinged in 1930 by an 18-year-old named Harry Melbourne, and it was sold as part of the children's range. Freddo frogs came in four varities back then, milk chocolate, white chocolate, half milk and half white chocolate, and milk chocolate with peanuts. The frog-shaped chocolate bar became part of the Cadbury range in 1967 when Cadbury bought MacRobertson's. However, the chocolate treat didn't launch in the UK until 1973. They were sold for a few years before production was stopped in 1979. 15 years later, in 1994, Freddo made its return to shops, and a caramel-filled version known as Taz, was also launched at the same time. In the 90s Freddo bars were sold for 10p and this price remained in place until 2005 when it started to increase. While Freddo price have been going up and up and up – at roughly 2p a year – they do sometimes come back down. Sainsbury's lowered the price of the frog back down to 10p for Nectar customers to celebrate Cadbury's 200th anniversary. The supermarket chain typically sells a Freddo for 40p, whereas Tesco sells stand alone Freddo's for 30p. The product in question is the Dairy Milk Little Bars multipacks which are now being sold as packs of four instead of packs of six. A pack of four chocolate bars costs £1.40 on Tesco's website despite a pack of six of the same chocolate bar costing the same price last month, reports The Sun. Taking to the review section on the Tesco website, one customer said: 'Advertised as new, only thing new is you get 4 instead of 6!! For the same price. Disgusting!' Another commented: 'Stop reducing how much is in the packet and charging the same price!!!' A third noticed the difference in pack size: 'Taken 2 bars out. STILL SAME PRICE. Were 6 now 4. Disgraceful.' Someone else shared: 'Was a six pack now a four pack for the same price, a third less chocolate, unacceptable shrinkflation'. The Sun explained that another pack of Cadbury chocolate bars – Freddos – had reduced from five bars to four as well as Cadbury Dairy Milk multipacks which went from nine bars to seven. The Liberal Democrats want government legislation amended to legally require large supermarkets to inform shoppers when the quantity of goods within a pre-packaged product has decreased thereby increasing the price per unit of measurement. Details of the changes would need to be attached or placed alongside the product for a 60-day period, according to the amendment tabled to the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill. Supermarkets would be forced to tell their customers if they want them to 'pay more for less' under the proposals designed to tackle 'shrinkflation'. Digestive biscuits, butter, crisps and chocolate bars were among the items found to have decreased in size while their unit cost increased, according to 2024 research by Compare the Market. Cadbury told The Sun: 'We understand the economic pressures that consumers continue to face and any changes to our product sizes is a last resort for our business. Shoppers will be able to pick up a range of products from the lockers. New Ikea click and collect lockers are set to be introduced at a Tesco in Kilmarnock. The lockers will be based at the Tesco Extra West Shaw Street store where an existing clothes donation and recycling point is based. ‌ Shoppers will be able to order a range of products from the Scandinavian homeware and furniture firm, when the lockers are built in the car park. ‌ Ikea installed its first batch of UK lockers last year with the service now being rolled out across the country. Bosses had applied to East Ayrshire Council for permission to install the lockers and related illuminated signs, both of which were approved with conditions by planners. A report on the application reads: "The proposed lockers will measure 10.2 metres long, and 2.6 metres wide (3.37 metres inclusive of the roof overhang/canopy and signage. "The lockers will measure 2.24 metres high (3.12 metres high inclusive of the signage). They will be of aluminium construction and painted externally in a mixture of grey, yellow and blue. "The lockers will feature a user-interface touchscreen on the front elevation, and an integrated overhead canopy."
