Local trade school closed after severe storms cause power outage
A local trade school is closed today due to a power outage by Sunday's storms.

The Warren County Career Center (WCCC) announced on social media that they are closed on Monday.
They said this is due to a power outage caused by last night's storms.

'Duke Energy is estimating that power will not be restored to our Main Campus until this afternoon,' WCCC said on its Facebook page. 'Daytime adult education classes are canceled.'
They said today is a remote learning day for students, 'who will complete asynchronous lessons via Canvas.'
WCC said that classes are expected to resume on Tuesday.

‘The Wire' actor's son released from ICU after being thrown 300 feet during tornado
A young man who was severely injured when a tornado hit and destroyed his Henry County home has been released from the ICU. Malachi Chaney, who celebrated his 19th birthday over the weekend, remains hospitalized at Grady Memorial Hospital, but his family says he is slowly recovering. The family's home was destroyed, and Tray Chaney said his son was thrown 300 feet. Tray Chaney told Channel 2 Action News that he was able to explain to his son for the first time on Wednesday what happened. 'I explained to him, as his father, that he's my hero,' Tray Chaney said. 'We went to war with a tornado and survived.' Showers, storms on the way for north Georgia as system forms off Atlantic coast
Our rain chances are going up in north Georgia, and the reason is a system we are watching closely in the tropics. It's the time of year where there can be the development of activity in the Gulf and the Atlantic off the East Coast. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Overall, the risk for tropical development along the southeast coast is low, at 10% in the next two days and 10% over the next seven days. Severe Weather Team 2 will be watching it carefully over the next few days, as showers and storms gather along the Atlantic coast. We will feel some impacts, at least indirectly, from this system on Wednesday and Thursday as tropical moisture spins back toward north Georgia. We will have showers and storms in our forecast.
