Ahmad Idham betting it all on "Impak Maksima 2"

16 Jun - Ahmad Idham is betting all his chips on his upcoming new movie, "Impak Maksima 2", after his recent film, "Sahak Gangster" didn't do well in cinemas.
The director, who made his filmmaking comeback last year following his departure from FINAS, stated that he is ready to retire as a director if the film doesn't do well in theatres.
"Impak Maksima 2 is the most critical work of my life. The film will determine my direction in the industry from now on," said Idham. "If it fails, I'm not sure there will be any more investors willing to give me a chance and it also means that I may no longer be relevant. And if that's true, I have to think about another career after this, so this film will be the deciding factor."
Idham said that he does worry about the fate of the movie, but understands that it is part and parcel of being in the film industry.
"That's why I always tell young artistes, from the first day they enter the industry, they need to have a long-term plan," he added.
Taking the example of Yusof Haslam, who directed hit films like "Sembilu" and "Maria Mariana" before moving to producing, the filmmaker said that Yusof is lucky to have two sons who inherited his filmmaking talent.
"I have to be realistic too. As great as we are, there is an end point to it," he added.
Idham came back to the industry last year by helming "Anak Perjanjian Syaitan 2", "Saka Perawan" and "Reeza GTR". Aside from "Impak Maksima", he also directed "Sahak Gangster" this year.

SUPERMAN TV Spot Shows James Gunn Swapped Out Divisive Flying Shot After Fan Backlash — GeekTyrant

When the first Superman TV spot dropped, it didn't take long before fans on social media found something to pick apart, specifically, a flying shot of David Corenswet's Man of Steel that just didn't sit right with some viewers. The flying shot is a close-up of Superman's face as he comes out of a barrel roll to avoid some rocks of mountain. Fans were saying the look on Superman's face was "goofy", while others blamed the VFX. Now, it looks like James Gunn decided to make a change. In a newly released TV spot, that same flying moment has clearly been updated. It looks much slicker and is better composed. It captures Superman mid-air, and it's undeniably a visual improvement. And yes, Gunn confirmed he made the swap, though he wasn't exactly thrilled with the original shot to begin with. 'It was a TV commercial and it wasn't a finished visual effects shot,' Gunn explained in response to the initial backlash. 'So the part of him flying, it was a photograph of his face and him flying. It was a photograph of a drone flying in front of an actual background. So all the pieces were real, but it was incorporated in kind of a funky way.' He went on to admit the first version just wasn't up to his standards: 'I didn't love the shot, so it's not even the shot that's in the movie. Sometimes I'm pretty strict about when I'm going through a trailer and looking at each of the shots, but sometimes the commercials, I forget to look at this closely. So that one kind of got by me.' When a fan later asked him on Threads, 'Hey James, how come you removed the barrel roll shot?! It was dope dude! It was a unique way of seeing Supes in flight,' Gunn clarified: 'I didn't remove the shot. I changed out a particular take of the shot.' Gunn is no stranger to fan engagement, and while he's not one to cater to every internet hot take, it's clear he's paying attention. Whether or not these changes will win over everyone remains to be seen, but they do hint at a filmmaker who's actively shaping his vision for the film, with one eye on the fans and the other on the final cut. F1 Star Damson Idris Reacts To Simone Ashley's Scenes Being Scrapped

F1 actor Damson Idris has reacted to the news that Simone Ashley's scenes have been cut from the film. Damson stars opposite Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Kerry Condon and a host of real-life Formula One stars in the new sports drama, which centres around a retired racer who becomes a mentor for a fledgling star in the field. Last week, it was revealed that while Bridgerton star Simone was originally due to appear in F1, her scenes didn't make it into the finished movie, aside from a few shots in which she doesn't speak. Asked for his thoughts on Simone being cut, Damson told BuzzFeed UK: 'First of all, I love Simone, not just as a person, but also as an artist. I think she's stupidly talented.' He then clarified: '[Simone's] role was more of a cameo kind of role. It was sort of a love interest situation that happened. 'But, as with many movies, you know the director's cut. I mean I've been cut out of movies, and these things happen.' Damson added: 'The joy of it is that, I know she's gonna work with not only [F1 director] Joseph Kosinski again, but definitely with me again.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Seasoned (@seasonedbf) Joseph Kosinski told People last week of Simone's absence from F1: 'It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use. 'There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make into the final cut.' He quickly celebrated the former Sex Education star as an 'incredible talent', 'incredible actress' and 'incredible singer', adding that he would 'love to work with her again' in the future. Simone previously told Elle in an interview published earlier this month that her part in F1 was a 'very small' one, but that she was still 'very grateful to be in that movie', describing the filming process as a 'crazy' experience. 28 Years Later Director Danny Boyle Reveals Meaning Behind That Truly Wild Twist Ending Seth Rogen Says Audition Tape For This Box Office Bomb Would 'End My Career' If It Got Out 'People Are Going To See Something They've Never Seen Before': How Pixar's Next Hit Film Was Made
