Raipur: The central govt will transfer crop insurance claims worth Rs 152.84 crore to the bank accounts of 1,41,879 eligible farmers in Chhattisgarh on Monday. The amount will be transferred through the nationwide direct benefit transfer (DBT) system.
The total amount includes Rs 10.25 crore for 33,943 farmers from the Kkarif 2024 season and Rs 142.58 crore for 1,07,936 farmers from the rabi 2024-25 season.
The claim payments are being made under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and the weather-based crop insurance scheme. The payment will be done using an automated system during a programme in Rajasthan. Union minister for agriculture and farmers welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan will chair the event, with Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma as the chief guest.
The programme will begin at 12 pm.
Chhattisgarh farmers can join the event virtually. Necessary arrangements have been made at the offices of the deputy director of agriculture at the district level and the senior agricultural development officer at the block level to facilitate their participation.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the economic security of farmers is his govt's top priority. He said that schemes like PMFBY play a crucial role in helping farmers recover from natural disasters and crop losses, adding that his govt is determined to make farming profitable, expand irrigation facilities, promote modern technology, and diversify crops to take the state's agriculture to new heights.

While the Delhi govt passed a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore for the 2025-26 financial year, officials said the chief minister clarified in the meeting that there was enough money in the coffers to fund the projects and the centre was also open to the idea of helping the city wherever required. "She issued clear directives that all capital projects outlined in the budget must be implemented without any delay, and their progress should be reviewed regularly. All senior officers must continuously monitor these initiatives and take immediate, effective action to resolve any issues," said an official who was part of the meeting. "The CM highlighted that the Delhi govt passed a record budget of Rs 1 lakh crore to ensure that no project faces financial constraints," the official added. The meeting was called to review the progress of ongoing development projects, public service initiatives, and administrative reforms. "During the meeting, the CM stressed that the capital's progress towards a 'Developed Delhi' will not be impeded by financial constraints, and noted that her govt had an adequate budget while the Centre was also providing full support," said an official, adding that the CM clearly mentioned she would continue to review the projects regularly to ensure their timely completion. She also expressed satisfaction with the success of the digital governance system and emphasised promoting it further, along with ensuring the full implementation of the e-office system. She said that 119 of 199 departments had adopted the system, while the remaining ones would also join the e-office system soon to ensure the complete digitalisation of offices.

State industry minister Shashi Panja, in a statement on X, said, "A bitter pill for BJP to swallow! For years, they've run a one-sided smear campaign painting Bengal as 'industry-averse.' But now, data from their own ministry blows their lies to pieces." "In the last six years (up to 31 July 2025), 44,040 companies were incorporated in Bengal, while only 1,742 companies shifted their registered offices out of the state. Under CM Mamata Banerjee, Bengal has witnessed a wave of development the BJP can't match. So, they resort to peddling lies, half-truths, and propaganda to hide their own miserable record," it added. BJP's Amit Malviya, citing the numbers, on X wrote: "Registering an office is not the same as running a thriving industry. The real story is written in boarded-up factories, fleeing companies, collapsing investor confidence, and Bengal's plunge from industrial pride to economic cautionary tale under Mamata Banerjee."
