Who Is Derek Dixon? The Oval Actor Accusing Tyler Perry Of Sexual Harassment
Tyler Perry has been sued by The Oval actor Derek Dixon for $260 million, alleging sexual harassment and assault, among other complaints.
Filmmaker Tyler Perry has found himself in hot water with a fresh lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment. Derry Dixon, who is an actor on Perry's The Oval, has alleged that the filmmaker made sexual advances after inviting him to his Atlanta home in January 2020. The actor, though, rejected Perry's advances. In his lawsuit, Dixon claimed that he met the director at an event in 2019, and in his words, Perry picked him out of the crowd and asked for his phone number for a possible role.
As per Page Six, things took a different turn when Dixon visited Perry's home in 2020, where he drank too much and slept in one of the director's guest rooms. The court documents reveal Dixon's claims that Perry got into bed with him and started touching his thighs. Although he rejected the advances that night, Perry remained interested.
Things escalated after getting cast in The Oval when Dixon started receiving sexual messages. The actor is seeking $260 million in damages over workplace sexual harassment, sexual assault and battery, and quid pro quo.

The Map That Leads to You star Sofia Wylie under fire for ‘shade' against BLACKPINK, KATSEYE's Sophia gets dragged into row
The red carpet of The Map That Leads to You's premiere recently turned viral for very different reasons than the makers would have expected. Actress Sofia Wylie turned up the heat with the comments for K-pop group BLACKPINK. What was probably meant as praise for the team turned into criticism online, or maybe it was an intended diss. The group's fandom is not taking it well and has also lashed out against KATSEYE member Sophia, who dropped a like on the video where Sofia Wylie was heard saying that the K-pop stars are 'giving nothing' these days. Sofia Wylie goes up against BLACKPINK, here's what happened Talking to MTV, she said, 'KATSEYE is my bae. I love KATSEYE. I watch every one of their videos. They just performed at Lollapalooza. My girls are going crazy. And BLACKPINK, I love you. Even though you're giving us nothing right now, I love you still. Always.' Sofia Wylie's remark about 'giving us nothing' has hit the fans the wrong way. Many are calling it a dig at the group's members' dancing and singing, as well as the overall vibe during the team's ongoing tour, which has been inviting some criticism on the internet. Others are linking it to how the quartet has released only 1 song after a wait of 3 years, and that the American actor probably meant that BLACKPINK had not given back to their fans, instead of it being about their performance. But that is about to change as reports of the singers releasing a new album in November are already making the rounds. It is not known what Sofia Wylie's real intent was, but fans are definitely not happy with her words. On the other hand, KATSEYE's Sophia is said to have liked the video, inviting another wave of criticism from the fans to her Instagram, where they're taking her reaction as an agreement to the diss. Instantly, the younger singer's account was flooded with bad comments and painting it as 'jealousy'. None of the involved artists has spoken about the incident since.

From Sylvester Stallone to Gloria Gaynor: Donald Trump announces Kennedy Center Honors nominees and himself as host
Donald Trump, on Wednesday, announced the first group of Kennedy Center Honors nominees under his leadership as chairman of the center. The list includes country music legend George Strait, Rocky star Sylvester Stallone, singer Gloria Gaynor, rock band Kiss, and actor-singer Michael Crawford. The POTUS also said that he would host the awards program. He further pledged to 'fully renovate' the Kennedy Center's infrastructure, aiming to make it a 'crown jewel' of American arts and culture. 'We're going to bring it to a higher level than it ever hit,' he said, noting that the venue will be featured in next year's celebrations marking America's 250th anniversary. Trump avoided the Kennedy Center Honors awards program during his first term after artists said they would not attend out of protest. This year, the Republican president has taken over as the Kennedy Center's new chairman and fired the board of trustees, which he replaced with loyalists. In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump teased a name change for the center, formally the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and said it would be restored to its past glory. 'GREAT Nominees for the TRUMP/KENNEDY CENTER, whoops, I mean, KENNEDY CENTER, AWARDS,' Trump wrote. He said work was being done on the site that would be 'bringing it back to the absolute TOP LEVEL of luxury, glamour, and entertainment.' 'It had fallen on hard times, physically, BUT WILL SOON BE MAKING A MAJOR COMEBACK!!!' he wrote. In a statement on its social media feed, the Kennedy Center said it was 'honoured' to host Trump, who was visiting for the third time since January. 'Thanks to his advocacy, our beautiful building will undergo renovations to restore its prestige and grandeur,' the venue said. Trump complained during a March visit that the building is in a state of 'tremendous disrepair.' Historically, a bipartisan advisory committee selects the recipients, who over the years have ranged from George Balanchine and Tom Hanks to Aretha Franklin and Stephen Sondheim. In the past, Trump has floated the idea of granting Kennedy Center Honors status to singer-songwriter Paul Anka and Stallone, one of three actors Trump named as Hollywood ambassadors earlier this year. Anka was supposed to perform 'My Way' at Trump's first inaugural and backed out at the last moment. The Kennedy Center Honors were established in 1978 and have been given to a broad range of artists. Until Trump's first term, presidents of both major political parties traditionally attended the annual ceremony, even when they disagreed politically with a given recipient. Prominent liberals such as Barbra Streisand and Warren Beatty were honored during the administration of Republican George W. Bush, and a leading conservative, Charlton Heston, was feted during the administration of Democrat Bill Clinton.

Kennedy Center Honors recipients 2025: From George Strait to Michael Crawford - who will be awarded by Trump
George Strait (left) and Michael Crawford (right) (AP images) US President Donald Trump on Wednesday has named the first batch of Kennedy Center Honors recipients under his leadership as the center's chairman. The list includes country music star George Strait, 'Rocky' actor Sylvester Stallone, singer Gloria Gaynor , rock band Kiss and actor-singer Michael Crawford . Trump said he will personally host the awards program. He also announced plans to fully renovate the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, calling it a future 'crown jewel' of American arts and culture. 'We're going to bring it to a higher level than it ever hit,' Trump said. The upgraded venue will feature in next year's celebrations marking America's 250th anniversary. Trump added that he didn't want to host the program but was invited to do so and agreed. Trump, who avoided the event during his first term after some artists boycotted in protest, has since taken control of the institution. Earlier this year, he replaced the Kennedy Center's board of trustees with his own appointees. In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump jokingly referred to change the name for the center to 'Trump/Kennedy Center' and promised to restore it to 'top-level' luxury and glamour. The post read, " Great Nominees for the Trump/Kennedy Center, whoops, I mean, Kennedy Centre awards. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like You will never turn off your computer again. They will be announced Wednesday. Tremendous work is being done, and money being spent, on bringing it back to the absolute top level of luxury, glamour, and entertainment." "It had fallen on hard times, physically, but will soon be making a major comeback!!! President DJT." In a statement on social media, the Kennedy Center said it was 'honored' to host Trump, who was visiting for the third time since January. 'Thanks to his advocacy, our beautiful building will undergo renovations to restore its prestige and grandeur,' the venue said. During a visit to the building in March, Trump had criticized the venue's condition, calling it in 'tremendous disrepair.' Trump said he was 'about 98% involved' in selecting this year's honorees, rejecting some candidates he considered 'too woke' or too liberal. He described the artists, including several of his favorites, as 'great people.' Traditionally, a bipartisan advisory committee has made the selections, but it is unclear how the process was handled this year. The Kennedy Center Honors, established in 1978, have recognized a wide range of artists, often with presidents from both parties in attendance. Past honorees have included both political allies and opponents of sitting presidents. During his first term in 2017, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump skipped the event after several recipients, including Norman Lear, said they would not attend in protest of Trump's proposed arts funding cuts. Since returning to office, Trump has taken a more direct role in the center's governance, including influencing programming decisions and pledging to end performances featuring drag artists. These moves have drawn criticism from parts of the arts community. In March, the producers of Hamilton withdrew plans to stage the musical at the center in 2026, citing Trump's leadership changes. In July, House Republicans added an amendment to a spending bill, later signed by Trump, to rename the Kennedy Center's Opera House in honor of Melania Trump. The change has not yet been implemented. Maria Shriver , a Democrat and niece of the late President Kennedy, called this move as 'insane.'
