345 Park Ave., site of deadly New York City office shooting, to reopen on Monday
The building at 345 Park Ave., was once filled with the everyday buzz of office life, but returning to normal following the rampage that took the lives of four people, including an NYPD detective, will take much longer.
The NYPD says the crime scene has been fully processed, allowing the building's owner to reopen its doors for business. Blackstone officials say employees do have the option to work from home.
Investigators say the gunman, Shane Tamura, was targeting the headquarters of the NFL when he unloaded 47 rounds from an assault rifle before turning the gun on himself.
Those killed were NYPD Det. Didarul Islam, who was working a security detail, Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner, Rudin Management employee Julia Hyman, and security officer Aland Etienne. At a vigil Friday, Det. Islam's heartbroken family spoke glowingly about him.
"To the world, he was an NYPD officer who served with dedication and heart, but to us, he is our big brother, someone we could always count on," cousin Ashfaqur Rahman said.
Three of the victims have been laid to rest. A funeral for Etienne will be held on Saturday.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his two children's education, saying he was "The kind of father every child dreams of" and "His deepest wish was to give them the future they deserve."

5 soldiers shot by Army sergeant at Fort Stewart in Georgia, officials say
The alleged shooter, identified as 28-year-old Quornelius Radford, was tackled by other soldiers and arrested, according to authorities. Five soldiers were shot and wounded on Wednesday at a U.S. Army base in Georgia by a fellow soldier in a workplace shooting that prompted a lockdown, officials there say. In a post on its Facebook page, Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield said the shooting occurred in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area shortly before 11 a.m. local time. The alleged shooter was identified as Quornelius Radford, a 28-year-old automated logistics sergeant from Jacksonville, Fla., assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team. Radford joined the Army in January 2018 and has no deployments, according to the Associated Press. At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Brig. Gen. John Lubas, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, said Radford was quickly "subdued" by fellow soldiers before law enforcement arrived. "Soldiers in the area that witnessed the shooting immediately, and without hesitation, tackled the soldier, subdued him and allowed law enforcement to then take him into custody," Lubas said. "These soldiers without a doubt prevented further casualties." All five of the wounded were transported to the hospital in stable condition, Lubas said. Three of the soldiers required surgery, and all are expected to recover. Lubas said that Radford used a personal handgun, not a military-issued weapon, and that the incident remains under investigation. President Trump was briefed on the shooting, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp wrote on X that he was "in close contact with law enforcement on the ground," adding that his family was "saddened by today's tragedy." It means that any unauthorised person caught entering the property can be arrested for a criminal offence and charged with a fine or prison sentence. 'Our neighbourhood officers in Cowley have obtained a closure order for a property associated with persistent anti social behaviour. 'You can report anti-social behaviour either online or on 101.'
