Miami Grand Prix 2025: Formula One
With a sellout once more expected, this weekend's Miami Grand Prix is building on an appeal to a younger, diverse audience that is a key part of Formula One's burgeoning success in the US. Making its mark on the calendar with a grand, spectacular party in the Florida sunshine since the inaugural race in 2022, Miami is considered something of a showcase.
The opening blast of the three meetings now held in the US is a shop window for the sport with three teams, Racing Bulls, Sauber and Ferrari boasting special liveries for the event this weekend. The flamingo pink of the RB is very much making a splash but the clunky corporate blue addition to the Scuderia's scarlet has fallen very flat with fans.
Naysayers may have disliked Miami's emphasis on being a show, of presenting a weekend of entertainment where the food and beverages (or F&B as it is bafflingly, for the uninitiated, referred to here) were as fundamental as the racing. Where the atmosphere went hand in hand with the competition. It was perhaps the first of the 'event' races F1 wanted to promote and like it or not, it has succeeded with numbers around this race telling their own story.
The atmosphere in the general admission – campus – area of the increasingly popular and affordable tickets away from the high-end hospitality which dominates all the media, is one of unadulterated enjoyment, shot through with the glorious absence of world-weary cynicism. There is an air of, whisper it, hedonism; not all racing must be accompanied by sombre beard-scratching from a grassy bank in the rain.

Chris Evans' CarFest moving to Silverstone for 2026
The event, which usually takes place at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire, was set up by Virgin Radio UK host Evans, 59, in the 2010s to showcase live music and motoring track shows. From next August, the event moves to Silverstone, the Northamptonshire motor racing circuit that is home to Formula One's British Grand Prix and where scenes from Brad Pitt's F1 movie were filmed. Evans said: 'This move opens up possibilities we've never had before, more space, more cars, more ways to surprise and delight our audience and most importantly, an opportunity to raise even more money for UK children's charities. This year's line-up includes music from rock band The Boomtown Rats and Scottish outfit Travis and talks with a number of chefs, wellness experts and more. Silverstone chief executive Stuart Pringle said: 'Silverstone has evolved into a year-round destination for world-class events, and we are thrilled to be working with CarFest for next year's event. 'For more than a decade, CarFest has inspired a devoted community of fans, becoming a true highlight of the British festival calendar. As the ultimate summer celebration, blending music, motors, food, family fun, and unforgettable experiences, CarFest is a perfect fit for Silverstone.' CarFest has run annually since 2012, with the exception of 2020, when it was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. The 2026 CarFest at Silverstone will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 27-30, with tickets and further details to be announced soon. CarFest 2025 is taking place between August 22 and August 24 at Laverstoke Park Farm.

A brand new Formula One racing simulator is coming to London this summer. From August, speed demons will be going head to head in the F1® Box, a new arcade game in Stratford. The new experience promises to have cinematic PvP (Player v Player) arcade-style gaming, immersive, high-intensity game play, and impressive audio and visual production. As for the equipment, the venue includes 12 full-motion racing sims all going head to head with 4K screens and two back-to-back races in twenty-minute stints.

Scotland's best food influencers crowned as Scot who 'makes easy recipes' tops list
One of the foodies recently shared a 50p chilli garlic pasta recipe. The top Scottish food influencers in 2025 have been crowned. A total of 40 food experts on social media were singled out. On Saturday, August 16, FeedSpot shared a roundup of the "top 40 Scottish food influencers to follow on Instagram". Various bloggers who specialise in different types of food content are included on the list. Placing first on the roundup is Holly Dingwall, who has around 563,000 followers on Instagram. Dingwall posts recipes and other food-related content on Instagram under the username @foodieholly. On the social media platform, the influencer describes herself as a "Scottish foodie". Dingwall also states that she specialises in "creating easy, delicious, unique recipes". One of Dingwall's recently shared recipes is for 'garlic parmesan steak pasta'. She describes the dish, which includes ribeye steak, rigatoni, and heavy cream, as "delicious". Meanwhile, the number two Scottish food influencer in 2025 is Renu Bhardwaj. Bhardwaj, whose Instagram handle is @hey_renu, has approximately 161,000 Instagram followers. The influencer states that she focuses on "easy budget recipes", as well as "high protein" dishes. Bhardwaj is also the author of the book Celebrate Diwali, which includes advice on how to prepare a Diwali feast and tips on crafts to do with children. Among the recently shared recipes on Bhardwaj's Instagram is one for '50p chilli garlic pasta'. The low-cost recipe is described as a "quick lunch that hits the spot". Coming in at number three on the experts' list is Rachel Fox, who posts under the name @topscottishscran on Instagram. The food blogger currently has around 60,400 followers on the platform. Fox refers to herself as a "Scottish food and travel blogger". In addition to sharing restaurant recommendations across Scotland and beyond, the influencer posts various lifestyle content. Placing fourth on FeedSpot's roundup of the top Scottish food influencers is Hannah McNab, who is known on Instagram as @hannahscranz. At the moment, McNab has a following of approximately 51,900 on the app. The content creator describes her account as a "digital scrapbook". As well as food, McNab posts about travel, Formula One racing, and more. Rounding out the top five Scottish food influencers in 2025 according to the experts is Ailish Buckley, who posts under the handle @allthingsailish. Currently, Buckley has around 35,300 followers on Instagram. Elsewhere, coming in at numbers six, seven, and eight respectively are the accounts @millennial_menu_, @scottishfoodgirl, and @edible_in_edinburgh.
