ADCMC successfully concludes Annual ‘Business Continuity and Alternative National Service Forum - Murona'
Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Emergencies, Crises, and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) successfully concluded the annual 'Business Continuity and Alternative National Service Forum – Murona', an event that brought together public and private sector entities to elevate crisis management capabilities across the Emirate.
Aligned with ADCMC's mission to enhance preparedness and ensure seamless service continuity during emergencies and disasters, this year's Forum was focused on several key themes – including the significance of business continuity, strategic role of alternative services in maintaining operations, and innovative methods of delivering such services. Participants Explored the best practices, shared inspiring success stories, and gained insights from prominent companies such as ADNOC and SEHA. Furthermore, it featured a series of panel discussions exploring the Alternative National Service Program.
His Excellency Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of ADCMC, emphasised ADCMC's commitment to strengthening and mmaintaining Abu Dhabi's preparedness for emergencies, crises, and disasters, in line with the Emirate's vision to position itself as a leading model in emergency, crisis, and disaster management. H.E. also highlighted that the Centre is dedicated to ensuring compliance with the National Standard for Business Continuity Management System by conducting comprehensive audits and verifications. This approach enables it to identify and resolve any non-compliance issues, ultimately enhancing the Emirate's resilience.
His Excellency stated: 'The forum brought together government entities and companies to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in crisis management. By leveraging past successes and the lessons learned, participants were able to derive innovative and effective strategies. This approach not only enhances procedures but also fosters deeper cooperation among all stakeholders.
H.E. emphasised the ADCMC's dedication to encouraging government entities to activate the Alternative National Service Program, which plays a vital role in ensuring business continuity and uninterrupted delivery of essential services during emergencies. H.E. added: 'The program is an integrated system designed to strengthen security and stability by fostering seamless collaboration among various stakeholders.'

With its advanced infrastructure and comprehensive range of services, the facility will provide round-the-clock care for ADNOC's workforce, residents, and emergency medical cases arising from nearby locations. Burjeel Holdings will oversee all clinical and administrative functions of the hospital. The facility includes a broad range of outpatient specialties—such as general surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, occupational health, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, and cardiac and pulmonary unit. It also houses a fully equipped emergency department with a minor operating room, licensed pharmacies, and a dedicated blood bank. The Das Hospital builds upon the foundation of the former Das Medical Center, significantly enhancing healthcare provision on the island. DFI announces programming and awards for 2025 Doha Film Festival
Doha Film Festival to have four competition strands with total of over USD 300,000 in prize money to reward artistic excellence. Doha Film Institute (DFI) has unveiled the programming and awards lineup for the upcoming Doha Film Festival (DFF), reaffirming its dedication to championing bold, original storytelling and amplifying underrepresented voices and diverse perspectives in global cinema. The announcement was made during the 78th Cannes Film Festival, marking the 15th anniversary of DFI, which was first launched in Cannes in 2010 by DFI Chair H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa. Set to take place from November 20 to 28, 2025, the festival will offer over $300,000 in prize money and feature a vibrant official selection across four competition categories: the International Feature Film Competition, showcasing compelling new works by emerging and established filmmakers; the International Short Film Competition, which highlights innovative storytelling in short form; the Ajyal Film Competition, judged by a youth jury offering generational insight; and the Made in Qatar Competition, celebrating the creativity and talent of filmmakers based in Qatar. The festival promises a multifaceted experience, with industry sessions, community screenings, youth-focused programming, and a variety of events that will transform Doha into a global hub for filmmakers, artists, and audiences united by a passion for thought-provoking cinema. The International Short Film Competition, overseen by a three-member jury, will award Best Film – Narrative or Documentary ($20,000), Best Director ($12,000), and Best Performance ($7,000). Meanwhile, the Made in Qatar Competition will honor local talent with awards for Best Short – Narrative or Documentary ($15,000), Best Director ($10,000), and Best Performance ($5,000), further reflecting DFI's strong commitment to supporting homegrown storytellers. The Ajyal Film Competition, continuing its tradition within DFF, will feature a youth jury aged 16 to 25, who will present awards for Best Feature – Narrative or Documentary ($35,000) and Best Short – Narrative or Documentary ($12,000). An Audience Award, accompanied by a certificate and trophy, will also be presented during the festival. DFF will activate iconic locations throughout Doha, with Katara Cultural Village set to host red carpet events and premieres, Msheireb Downtown Doha serving as the central hub for industry activities, and the Museum of Islamic Art providing an intimate venue for short film screenings.
