Kevin Durant made some bold revelations while appearing on the Mind the Game podcast with LeBron James and Steve Nash. After the podcast went public,
Kyrie Irving
, who was one of the topics of discussion, said that he would be addressing the former's claims on his streaming channel and talk about his time with the Brooklyn Nets.
Irving has now stated that the Nets never wanted him, but wanted to get Kevin Durant through him, which of course, is turning heads.
Kyrie Irving said Brooklyn Nets never wanted him
Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden came together for one of the most successful seasons the Brooklyn Nets had. Unfortunately, they could not win the championship because of a series of reasons, including injuries, and now it seems like something else.
"I wish that we got a chance to get to know them beforehand because they wasn't f***ing with me like that...
Kenny Atkinson wasn't f***ing with me like that. The Nets didn't want me like that. They wanted KD."

It's not a secret that at that time Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were somewhat of a package deal. So since the Nets wanted KD, they also had to get Irving. The nine-time All-Star also picked up on the fact that Durant implied he wasn't committed to winning.

The Dallas Mavericks guard said that he has long understood that not everyone is going to share the same thought process as him, but that didn't mean he wasn't all in.
"When he said this, emotionally, I was like, okay. We're all committed to the goal at the end of the day, but sometimes not everybody's going to follow what you want them to do. I wish I had my soundboard for this, but not everybody's going to do what you want them to do."
He further added:
"Not everybody's going to be committed the way you want them to be committed. And it's not like K is asking me for this, but I asked for this commitment before I committed to Brooklyn from him, which was a beautiful thing."
What was supposed to be a golden era for the Nets with KD, Irving, and James Harden ended up being nothing more than a pipe dream, with Irving finally leaving the Nets in 2023.

Achraf Hakimi rape trial latest: Will PSG soccer star, Morocco footballer go to jail?

French prosecutors on Friday called for Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi to face trial for the alleged rape of a woman in 2023 which the Moroccan international denies. The Nanterre prosecutor's office told AFP that they had requested that the investigating judge refer the rape charge to a criminal court. "It is now up to the investigating magistrate to make a decision within the framework of his order," the prosecutor's office told AFP in a statement. Hakimi, 26, played a major role in PSG 's run to their first Champions League title, the full-back scoring the opener in the 5-0 rout of Inter Milan in the final in May. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Greece: New Container Houses (Prices May Surprise You) Container House Search Now Hakimi, who helped Morocco to their historic progress to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, was charged in March, 2023 with raping a 24-year-old woman. Hakimi allegedly paid for his accuser to travel to his home on February 25, 2023, in the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt while his wife and children were away on holiday. Live Events The woman went to a police station following the encounter alleging rape and was questioned by police. Although the woman refused to make a formal accusation, prosecutors decided to press charges against the player. She told police at the time that she had met Hakimi in January 2023 on Instagram. On the night in question she said she had travelled to his house in a taxi paid for by Hakimi. She told police Hakimi had started kissing her and making non-consensual sexual advances, before raping her, a police source told AFP at the time. She said she managed to break free to text a friend who came to pick her up. Contacted by AFP after Friday's development Hakimi's lawyer Fanny Colin described the call by prosecutors for a trial as "incomprehensible and senseless in light of the case's elements". "We, along with Achraf Hakimi, remain as calm as we were at the start of the proceedings. "If these requisitions were to be followed, we would obviously pursue all avenues of appeal," she continued. According to Colin, her client had "been the target of an attempted extortion". "Nothing in this case suggests an attempted extortion," Rachel-Flore Pardo, the lawyer representing the woman, said. "My client welcomes this news with immense relief," she told AFP. "We will not tolerate any smear or destabilisation campaign, as is unfortunately still too often the case for women who have the courage to report the rape of which they are victims," she added. Who is Hakimi? The son of a cleaning lady and a street vendor, both Moroccans who have lived in Spain since the 1980s, Hakimi was born in Getafe, a southern suburb of Madrid. Hakimi came through the youth system at Real Madrid before joining Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2018. He went on to make 73 appearances for the German club. He moved to Inter Milan in 2020 and then on to PSG in 2021 where he has established himself as an integral part of the team. Chandigarh's ‘Swayam' self-defence academy shut down, training now limited to schools

1 2 Chandigarh: In a concerning development for women's safety initiatives in the city, Chandigarh Police's renowned 'Swayam' self-defence academy, which empowered thousands of young girls and women over the past seven years, has remained shut since Aug 2024. The closure marks a significant shift in how self-defence training is now being imparted across Chandigarh. Launched in 2017 with the aim of equipping girls with physical and mental tools to defend themselves, 'Swayam' quickly became a symbol of empowerment in the city. Through martial arts, Wushu, and other practical self-defence techniques, the programme reached every corner of the city, from economically weaker sections to schools, colleges, and the IT sector. Between 2017 and 2024, a total of 978 self-defence programmes were conducted, training 1,33,471 girls and women. Alongside this, 739 awareness programmes were held, reaching 92,560 participants. In total, the initiative reached 1,717 groups with a combined 2,26,031 attendees, making it one of the most expansive public safety training efforts in the region. Under the 'Swayam' banner, participants didn't just learn to protect themselves, many went on to excel in sports and competitions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Moose Approaches Girl At Bus Stop In Yaroslavskaya Oblast - Watch What Happens Happy in Shape Undo From 2018 to 2024, girls trained through the program brought home 917 medals, including 319 gold, 298 silver, and 300 bronze, even clinching 3 gold and 1 silver medal at international levels. However, since the academy's closure in Aug 2024, the format of the programme has been scaled down. Now, training is being conducted only in schools by police personnel, raising concerns about accessibility and outreach, especially for those outside the formal education system. SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said, "Around 1,500 girls have been trained under this programme so far this year." While the commitment of the police force to continue the training is evident, the absence of a dedicated academy limits the programme's scale and impact. Players have expressed disappointment over the academy's closure, calling for its revival. Many fear that without a centralised hub for structured training, the consistency and quality of the programme could suffer. As Chandigarh continues to promote safety and empowerment for women, the future of 'Swayam' now hangs in the balance, a once-celebrated initiative now functioning only in fragments.

Sai Kishore enjoys dream English County debut with Surrey

R Sai Kishore (r) picked 11 wickets in two matches. Photo credit: Surrey CHENNAI: R Sai Kishore had a short and sweet stint representing Surrey in English County Championship Division I. Despite having little time to bed in, the Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner gave a good account of himself in the two matches that he featured in. The 28-year-old Sai Kishore began his debut County campaign with a four-wicket match haul in the draw against Yorkshire in Scarborough. The slow bowler then produced a match-influencing show of seven scalps, including a five-wicket burst in the second innings, to propel Surrey to a five-wicket victory over Durham in Chester-le-Street. Brimming with optimism after a productive spell away from home, Sai Kishore believes that he has it in him to deliver on all kinds of surfaces. 'I have a lot of belief in my red-ball game. Winning a match in foreign conditions and doing it with a team which I was not familiar with, gives me a lot of confidence,' Sai Kishore, who has represented India only in T20Is (three matches), told TOI from England on Friday. I now feel that I had not deceived myself,' added Sai Kishore, the Tamil Nadu red-ball captain. His leadership quality and extensive preparation with coach R Ramkumar in Chennai allowed Sai Kishore to swiftly adapt to English County. 'I see myself as a leader wherever I go. Whenever I had interactions with the coach (Gareth Batty) and captain (Rory Burns), I discussed how we could take the game forward. It was not just about me picking wickets. The captain and coach handled me well; they used me well, that is why I was able to deliver my best. Overall, I am very happy,' said Sai Kishore. 'Before going to England, I worked with Ramkumar anna and refined my action. After playing a lot of T20 cricket in the last few months, my action was spoilt a bit, so I had to tweak it. Besides that, Batty's (a former spinner) inputs came in handy.' Captain all praise for spinner Surrey skipper Burns was effusive in his praise of Sai Kishore, saying that the left-arm spinner was an invaluable addition to the squad. 'When you have someone with that quality who can do what he is asked to any time, it is pretty impressive. The ability Sai has, to control one end on a surface like that, is outstanding. He is a fantastic bloke around the group; he has great energy,' Burns said after Surrey comprehensively defeated Durham.
