Dundee's Brian Cox among big names in Kirkcaldy festival programme launching this weekend
Succession star Brian Cox features alongside a host of local talent in a packed programme of Kirkcaldy events launching this weekend.
Lang Toun Fest is Kirkcaldy's first arts and culture festival.
And other big names taking part include Fife-born author Val McDermid, who is interviewing former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Hacienda DJ Graeme Park will also return to his roots for a special benefit gig in aid of Sarcoma UK.
However, a host of community talent is also included in the five-week extravaganza.
Lang Toun Fest kicks off on Friday May 30 with the Lang Toun Jazz Proms opening concert.
It officially closes with Fife Pride on July 5.
More than 125 events are already organised, with more being added.
They include live music, literature, performance, yoga, comedy, food demonstrations, talks, walking tours and exhibitions.
Thousands of printed programmes are now available at venues across Kirkcaldy.
The idea for a community-based festival came from discussions among the Kirkcaldy Partners group, comprising individuals and groups from across the town.
They share a passion to showcase all that's positive and creative about the Lang Toun.
And they took the chance to build on existing initiatives such as the Adam Smith Festival of Ideas, Fife Pride and the Kirkcaldy Walking Festival.
Plans are now under way to make the Lang Toun Fest an annual event.

Tom Felton is reprising his role as Draco Malfoy for the Harry Potter And The Cursed Child play. The Surrey-born actor, who starred in all the film adaptations of JK Rowling's fantasy novel until the last movie in 2011, will make a comeback as Harry Potter's school bully on Broadway at the Lyric Theatre in New York later this year. He will begin his run in Harry Potter And The Cursed Child on November 11 for a limited 19 weeks, the production said on Thursday. The play, written by Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne, began in 2016 in London and has had a Broadway run since 2018. It was co-devised by Rowling, and is set 19 years after the events of the seventh and final book, with Ministry of Magic employee Harry and his wife Ginny Weasley waving off their youngest son Albus Severus to school. The two-part play, which stretches over five hours, sees Albus struggle at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with the weight of his family legacy and go to extreme and dangerous lengths to right the wrongs of the past. Since the ending of the film franchise, Felton has been in 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and had recurring roles in the TV series Murder In The First, The Flash and Origin. He has also used his voice in the Harry Potter video games, based on the movie, and featured in the special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who played Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The seven Harry Potter books are set to be brought to the small screen by HBO, with production beginning at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in summer 2025. The young stars have been cast with Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron, while the new Draco has not yet been confirmed. Earlier this year, British actor Paapa Essiedu and US star John Lithgow were confirmed as the cruel Professor Severus Snape and Hogwarts headmaster Professor Albus Dumbledore, respectively. Orlando Bloom wants to ‘get the band back together' for Pirates Of The Caribbean
The 48-year-old, who plays Will Turner in the Disney film franchise, told ITV's This Morning there is a chance the cast could reunite for a new instalment. Asked if more Pirates Of The Caribbean features are possible, he said: 'Well, I don't know, I can't say anything at the moment because I really don't know, but there's definitely availability. 'I think they're trying to work out what it would all look like, I personally think it'd be great to get the band back together, that would be great, but there are always different ideas, and so we'll see where it lands.' Bloom also spoke about his latest film Deep Cover, which will be released on June 12, saying he took inspiration from Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher when constructing his character.
