In 2018, NASCAR offered a unique challenge to its Cup Series drivers. The governing body promised the best pit stall, also called the number one pit stall, to any driver willing to follow a vegan diet for one month.
During that season, Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion from Las Vegas, was asked about this unusual offer in Jeff Gluck's famous '12 Questions' interview. Even with such a big racing advantage on the table, Kyle Busch clearly said he would not give up his diet for this deal.
Kyle Busch said 'No' to switching diets during NASCAR's 2018 season
The moment came during Jeff Gluck's sit-down interview in 2018, when he asked Kyle Busch if he would change his diet plans for the number one pit stall.
Busch, who was driving full-time in the Cup Series then, gave a sharp answer. He said, 'If it was for more than one week.'
When Jeff Gluck pushed him further, asking if he would do it even for a single race weekend, Kyle Busch quickly responded,
'No. No, no. I haven't won enough poles in my career that I think that's mattered, where I've ever won a race because I had the No. 1 pit box. So, no, I wouldn't swap.'
At the time of that interview, the Las Vegas-born driver had already built a successful Cup career.

As of today, Kyle Busch has recorded 63 career wins, 253 top-five finishes, and 389 top-10 finishes in 739 Cup Series starts. He also has 33 pole positions. Away from the Cup Series, he has been dominant in the Xfinity Series with 102 career wins, 267 top-10s, and 70 poles.
This shows Busch has never been fully reliant on pit stall placement for wins, and his refusal to go vegan made clear how strongly he values sticking to his normal lifestyle.

Kyle Busch's 2025 views on NASCAR's changing schedule
Kyle Busch's opinions are not only strong about diets but also about NASCAR's direction. In June 2025, before the EchoPark race, Busch spoke with Frontstretch Media about the schedule changes.
He said NASCAR's decision to add different tracks to the Cup Series is good for attracting fresh fans. Busch explained,
'I think the schedule having variation is really cool. I think that's great. It gives you a little more diversity within your fan base in the areas of the country that you can go races.'
He pointed to new ideas like racing in Mexico, returning to Chicagoland Speedway, or even adding San Diego. Busch believes mixing classic tracks with new venues brings in new supporters while keeping long-time fans engaged.
So far in the 2025 season, Kyle Busch has 25 starts with seven top-10 and two top-five finishes. He currently sits 16th in the Cup Series points standings with 537 points but is still searching for his first win of the year to guarantee a spot in the playoffs.

Indian boxers stuck in Patiala as visa delay hampers UK training trip ahead of World Championships

red boxing gloves hanging on the ropes (representational image) Indian boxers' preparations for the World Championships in Liverpool have hit a snag as visa complications have disrupted their planned training trip to Sheffield, UK. While four women boxers and some coaching staff have reached the UK, the 10-member men's team and six women pugilists remain at the national camp in NIS Patiala, awaiting their clearances for the crucial multinational training camp scheduled from August 17 to September 1. The squad was originally scheduled to depart on Sunday to participate in the training camp, which serves as a vital preparation for the World Championships taking place from September 4 to 14. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! The male boxers currently have access to only one coach, as three others, including head coach Dharmendra Yadav, are already in Sheffield. "Yes, the three of us have reached here but all the (male) boxers are still waiting for their visas. We had to start sparring in the multinational camp from Wednesday but we cancelled it as we don't know when the visa will arrive and when the boxers will be able to reach here," Yadav told PTI. The Boxing Federation of India's Interim Committee is working to resolve the situation. Committee member Col Arun Malik provided an update on the situation. "However, as the process is largely automated, interventions so far have not been able to resolve the delays. On our part, all logistical arrangements are ready, and the moment we have clarity, we will ensure that the remaining players travel to England without delay. We remain hopeful that the pending cases will be resolved soon, enabling the entire team to join the camp at the earliest," Malik stated. Poll Do you believe the visa complications will impact the performance of the Indian boxers at the World Championships? Yes, significantly Yes, somewhat No, not at all Unsure Two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen , Minakshi, Pooja Rani , and Nupur Sheoran have successfully reached Sheffield, while prominent athletes like Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain , Commonwealth Games bronze-winner Jaismine Lamboria, and Asian Games medallist Narender Berwal remain in Patiala. Women's head coach D Chandralal, who received his visa but stayed back for the BFI elections, shared his perspective on the situation. "Four (female) boxers have reached and 2 coaches are there in the UK. I have received my visa but I stayed back for the BFI elections. But I have given the plan to the coaches there and they will conduct training according to that. They have some sparring sessions scheduled. In the meantime after the elections I'll stay with the rest of the boxers," Chandralal said. The Sheffield training camp, hosted at the Great Britain Boxing headquarters, will feature teams from Ireland, France, Germany, Uzbekistan, the USA, Poland, and other nations. This World Championships will mark a historic first under the new governing body, World Boxing, featuring competitions across 10 weight classes for both men and women.
