FRIEDMAN: Tahj Gray
Gray is advanced well beyond his years and is on track to be one of the top defenders in the 2028 class. At nearly 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, the Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's Regional standout has the tools to be a devastating defender. Gray has the speed to stick with running backs and tight ends in coverage while displaying the strength and physical style that will allow him to be a playmaker near the line of scrimmage.

He is slated to play linebacker this fall but he is trending toward being an edge defender at the next level.
Gray's offer sheet already features Oregon, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and many others.
GARCIA: Jayden Wade
The California native is set to be the trigger man at IMG Academy after waiting his turn to be QB1. Before his first official start, the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder has collected offers from the nation's top programs including Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon and scores of others, thanks to what appears to be a can't-miss skill set as a legitimate dual-threat talent.

Wade has a quick motion on a strong arm, has clocked multiple 4.4-second laser 40-yard dash times and carries himself with a combination of California cool and Florida confidence while competing with and against some of the nation's top prospects every day.
If he can flash and begin living up to lofty expectations this fall, Wade has a chance to become a household name in the sport before he ever sets foot on a college football field.
GORNEY: Marcus Fakatou
There are a lot of interesting players already in the 2028 class and I always like to start at quarterback, but in the West, Orange (Calif.) Lutheran defensive end Marcus Fakatou is the name I'll be watching.
Fakatou has already been on the scene for a few years in California and at 6-foot-7 and 258 pounds, the 2028 prospect is a striking figure. He's not fully there yet in terms of technique but he played a significant amount as a freshman in the country's best high school football league and should only develop more in the coming years because his work ethic is off the charts.
There are a lot of similarities between Fakatou and Oregon star defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei at the same stage except Fakatou is a few inches taller. We'll see if the same success is found and it should be because Fakatou has all the tools to be special.
SMITH: Wonderful Monds IV
Monds is a player that the entire country will know by the time he leaves high school. He's got terrific bloodlines with multiple family members having played college football. Monds is already standing at 6-foot-2, 200-plus pounds. He's also productive throwing for 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns, and running for 600 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Florida native is already closing in on 20 scholarship offers from around the country. It'll be fun to see his development over the next few years.
SPIEGELMAN: Calvin Ursin
One 2028 prospect I'm very excited about is athlete Calvin Ursin out of Watson (La.) Live Oak. A two-way standout, we've been able to evaluate Ursin in the camp setting and in live game action. He is a projected wide receiver at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with through-the-roof verified testing as an underclassman.
Ursin's ability to make plays down the field, attack the ball in mid-air, make contested catches, attack different levels of the field and make plays in space is outstanding. He plays offense, defense and special teams for Live Oak but ultimately we project him to be one of the best receivers in the 2028 class.

How NBA World is Reacting to Knicks' Firing Tom Thibodeau
How NBA World is Reacting to Knicks' Firing Tom Thibodeau originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Knicks' NBA Finals aspirations were ultimately cut short Saturday night when they fell to the Indiana Pacers, thus losing the series 4-2. This comes after Knicks fans felt like they were on top of the world after knocking off the defending world champion Boston Celtics. Advertisement There was plenty of blame to go around, especially from the media. Some were assigning much of the blame to Karl-Anthony Towns and his lack of defensive ability, as the Pacers were exploiting him in the pick-and-roll during the series-clinching game. Rebilas-Imagn Images How the NBA world is reacting to Knicks' firing Tom Thibodeau However, some were assigning a majority of the blame to New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau. It appears that the Knicks' front office and ownership were listening, as the team announced on Tuesday afternoon that they were firing Thibodeau. After Shams Charania initially broke the news, he appeared on SportsCenter to discuss the shockwave it has sent throughout the league. Advertisement "My Phone is blowing up right now with executives," Charania said. "Everyone around the league just stunned. Every player on this Knicks roster felt like overperformed. You saw Jalen Brunson become an All-NBA All-Star guard. Karl-Anthony Towns, an All-NBA performer as well. "Josh Hart as well, who tweeted out something positive about Tom Thibodeau. They all had great years under him, but clearly the Knicks did not feel like Tom Thibodeau was going to be the coach to take them over the top." One could argue the two-man game between Brunson and Towns was one of, if not the best in the NBA. For some reason, they went away from that down the stretch and took turns playing isolation basketball. Advertisement Following the Knicks' playoff exit, it raises more questions about what the team has planned for the offseason this summer, particularly with its roster. While Towns was an integral part of the Knicks getting to the Conference Finals, it's not out of the question that the Knicks could look to move him this summer. White Sox give Robert more room to work on his adjustments at the plate
Associated Press CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago White Sox are going to rest Luis Robert Jr. for a couple days to give the slumping slugger more room to work on some changes at the plate. First-year manager Will Venable said he is planning to keep Robert out of the lineup on Tuesday and Wednesday against Detroit. 'He'll be available, but not in the starting lineup, just to give (him) an opportunity to really dial in some of these adjustments without just feeling the pressure of having to go out there and perform,' Venable said. 'So he's in a good spot physically. And just want to give him a couple days here to lock in some of these adjustments.' The 27-year-old Robert is 1 for 20 with 10 strikeouts and three walks in his last seven games. He is batting a career-low .177 with five homers and 20 RBIs in 55 games this season. The last-place White Sox had lost seven of eight going into Tuesday night's game against the Tigers. Michael A. Taylor replaced Robert in center field. Venable said Robert responded positively to the idea of taking a couple days off. 'He is putting in a ton of work and working extremely hard all throughout the day to try and get this thing right,' Venable said. 'He agreed that it would be a good idea just to press pause on the games, just for a couple of days here.' Robert had a major league-high 21 steals going into Tuesday's action, and he also plays strong defense in center. But he hasn't been able to find his swing at the plate. An All-Star in 2023, Robert has been playing through some right knee soreness. But Venable said he doesn't think it has been limiting him in any way. 'There's some soreness, but I think that it's not more than any soreness that all these guys feel during the course of the summer and playing hard out there every day,' he said. The White Sox made a move with their pitching staff on Tuesday, placing right-hander Jonathan Cannon on the 15-day injured list with a lower back strain. Right-hander Caleb Freeman was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. The 24-year-old Cannon was tagged for five runs in three innings in a 13-1 loss to Detroit in the series opener on Monday night. He is 2-7 with a 4.66 ERA in 10 starts and two relief appearances this season. 'Got some imaging done and they're continuing to evaluate it,' Venable said. "Yeah, it's gonna be some time here, but we'll continue to see how he feels before we put a timeline on it.' ___ AP MLB: recommended
