EXCLUSIVE: Wonderkid will join Liverpool first team in pre-season
He's probably one of the club's most exciting young talents, and the only nominee Liverpool currently have in the top 100 rankings for the Golden Boy award.

It's expected that the Reds' new wonderkid will initially be playing for the club's U21 side as he adjusts to the demands of English football.
However, Anfield Watch understands that for the beginning of the pre-season, Pecsi will be joining the first team and he will be part of Slot's preparations.
This means he could get a chance to make his unofficial debut for the club, if the need arises to use more than two goalkeepers with Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
In pre-season, Liverpool often rotate goalkeepers, so this is a possibility.

Last summer, Slot used three goalkeepers during the preparations with third choice Vitezslav Jaros playing three games during pre-season, including 28 minutes against Sevilla, when Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher were both available.
It's expected Jaros is going to depart on loan with Ajax currently the frontrunners to sign him.
This will open up a space for Pecsi to claim the number three spot and thus potentially make his debut for the Reds' first team.
The club have high hopes for Pecsi and regard him as Slot's third choice keeper.
While, he will be playing mostly U21 football next season, which is a step down for somebody who has over 50 first team appearances under his belt, the expectations is that he will be training alongside Mamardashvili and Alisson, to learn the ropes and this is very much a step up.

As a third choice goalkeeper, he could even get a chance to make his debut for the Reds' first team in a rare circumstance if both Alisson and Mamardashvili are injured.
This occurred last season, too, with Jaros playing against Crystal Palace in the Premier League and Brighton in the League Cup.
In the long-term, Liverpool envision Pecsi to be a first choice goalkeeper. That is why they have invested £1.5m on him, which makes him the second most expensive Hungarian goalkeeper behind Peter Gulacsi.

West Ham vs Chelsea: Prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds today
Chelsea will be aiming to secure their first victory of the new Premier League campaign when they face West Ham on Friday. Enzo Maresca's side will be looking to bounce back after a frustrating goalless draw in their season-opener at home to Crystal Palace. Despite handing debuts to Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Estevao, the Blues looked uninspired in attack and were unable to break down a disciplined Palace defence. The West London club enter the season with lofty ambitions, with some tipping them as outside contenders for the Premier League title. A clash with West Ham, therefore, provides an ideal chance to collect their first three points. In contrast, there is growing concern in East London after the Hammers slumped to a 3-0 defeat away to newly promoted Sunderland. Graham Potter's side looked disjointed and lacked fight, leading to early suggestions they could be dragged into a relegation battle. Potter, a former Chelsea manager, has already faced criticism for his approach at West Ham and will be desperate to take something from the game against his old club. Date, kick-off time and venue West Ham vs Chelsea is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Friday, August 22, 2025. The game will take place at the London Stadium. How to watch West Ham vs Chelsea TV channel: The game will be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK, broadcast on their Main Event and Premier League channels. Live stream: UK viewers can watch the game online via the Sky Go website or app. The match is also available on NOW with a Sky Sports subscription. Highlights: Available on the Sky Sports app in a mobile-friendly vertical format, and Chelsea's own app and website will have highlights ready to go after the game at 10pm. Live blog: You can also follow all the action with Standard Sport's live blog! West Ham vs Chelsea team news After missing Chelsea's opening fixture with an injury, Tosin Adarabioyo remains a doubt for Friday despite the issue being described as 'very minor.' Romeo Lavia also remains a doubt, will Levi Colwill has been sidelined for most of the season with an ACL injury. Nicolas Jackson is available again after suspension but, along with Christian Nkunku is unlikely to be included due to ongoing transfer speculation over their futures. Chelsea are still in the market for new additions and are reportedly confident of securing the services of Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho. Elsewhere, the Hammers could be without Edson Alvarez, who is reportedly on his way out and close to joining Fenerbahce. Crysencio Summerville is nearing a return from a long-term hamstring problem, but this game may come prematurely. Despite conceding three goals on his debut, expect Mads Hermansen to keep Alphonse Areola out and continue between the sticks. West Ham vs Chelsea prediction Chelsea couldn't have asked for a better fixture to secure their first win of the season. Maresca will want to show fans they're a serious outfit and that the discourse regarding their progress is true. With the attacking talent at their disposal, I expect Chelsea to be on the front foot and create chances and score goals. Graham Potter's side looks bereft of ideas at the moment. They seemingly have come into the season without being fully prepared and were punished against Sunderland. Expect more of the same from this game, as many are tipping The Hammers to go down this season. Chelsea to win, 3-1 Head to head (h2h) history and results Chelsea came out on top last time these two sides met, winning 2-1 in a Premier League meeting in February 2025, courtesy of a Pedro Neto goal and Aaron Wan-Bissaka's own goal. Liverpool transfer target revealed role in Caoimhin Kelleher exit amid Man Utd battle
Brentford defender Nathan Collins has emerged as an apparent transfer target for a number of top Premier League clubs, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham all reportedly keen on the 24-year-old center-back. The Ireland international, 24, was named the new Brentford captain earlier this month following Christian Norgaard's move to Arsenal, and he is a defender who is rated highly by some of the division's biggest clubs. Liverpool is open to signing a new defender before the closure of the transfer window, although there are contrasting reports around the situation, with The Athletic saying the Reds only have eyes for Marc Guehi, and will not pursue an alternative if they fail to land the Palace captain. READ MORE: Every word of Newcastle's lengthy Alexander Isak statement as Liverpool sent clear message READ MORE: Newcastle issues ruthless Alexander Isak response after statement totally blindsides club If Liverpool does move for Collins, though, that would see him complete a transfer that would be the reverse of the move one of his international teammates made earlier in the summer. Caoimhin Kelleher swapped Liverpool for Brentford due to a desire to play every week after spending several years as Alisson's understudy at Anfield. Collins joked about the role he played in convincing the Bees to sign Kelleher, as he said he spoke highly of the 26-year-old whenever he was asked about the goalkeeper by anyone at Brentford. 'He shows his qualities as a keeper here [with Ireland]," Collins said during the most recent round of international fixtures. "But it will be even better when we can train together every day and build our relationship a bit more, on and off the field. 'It will help Brentford and Ireland. I'm buzzing for him, it's a great move for him and he deserves to be a No. 1 at a club.' Asked if he played a role in Brentford signing Kelleher from Liverpool, Collins said: 'A few people asked me what he was like and obviously I spoke highly of him, I'm not going to lie. 'But no, listen, he done it all himself - he's shown what he can do on the highest level of football for Liverpool. He deserves to be a No. 1 at a good club.' Regarding Liverpool's center-back pursuit, the club signed the highly rated 18-year-old Giovanni Leoni from Parma last week, taking the number of center-backs in Arne Slot's squad back up to four — the same amount as last season. Jarell Quansah's move to Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of July left Liverpool needing a replacement for the England international, and the acquisition of Leoni saw them fulfil that requirement. The Athletic reported that Liverpool is open to making Guehi the fifth center-back in Slot's squad but will only do so if the terms of the deal make financial sense. Collins, meanwhile, is contracted to Brentford until 2029, so he would no doubt command a significant fee were he to leave the Gtech Community Stadium before the transfer window closes.

Liverpool Defender Is Open To Joining Real Madrid This Summer: Should Alonso Launch A Move?
In a recent report, AS mentioned that Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is open to joining Real Madrid this summer. It has been revealed that the French centre-back has got less than a year left to run in his contract at Anfield, which could give Los Blancos a chance to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window. Konate's Impressive Form In The Premier League Konate had a solid campaign at the Merseyside club recently as he produced a series of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The France international made 42 appearances for the Reds last season, scoring two goals and grabbing two assists in all competitions. The 26-year-old was a rock at the back for Liverpool after he made 40 tackles, 29 blocks and 17 interceptions in the Premier League. He even distributed the ball well from the back, based on his pass completion rate of 90.2% in the English top tier (stats via His current contract at the Merseyside club will run out next summer. Hence, Real Madrid could potentially sign him on the cheap in this transfer period. LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – AUGUST 04: Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool during the pre-season friendly match between Liverpool v Athletic Club Bilbao at Anfield on August 04, 2025 in Liverpool, England. (Photo by) Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Launch A Move For Konate This Summer? Konate is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and can even play his way out from the back. The French centre-back can use his strong 1.94m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, he is prone to injuries, which makes him a risky option for Real Madrid to consider this summer. Konate would no doubt enhance the quality of Los Blancos head coach Xabi Alonso's defence. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club this season. At 26, Konate is about to enter his prime and is currently on an expiring contract. Thus, he would be an excellent option for Real Madrid to pursue this summer. All in all, Alonso would be wise to launch a move for the France international but only if he can sign him on a cut-price deal.
