Kevin Durant trade expected soon, NBA Conference Finals contender likely to pursue him
There's no debate that Kevin Durant is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. What is up for debate is what team the Phoenix Suns superstar will be playing for when the 2025-26 NBA season tips off.
The Suns are working hard to trade the 15-time All-Star, and several teams are expected to have interest. Possibly even one of the teams from the NBA's Conference Finals.

Specifically, ESPN's NBA insider Brian Windhorst suggests the New York Knicks could be among the teams that pursue a Durant trade in the next few weeks.
'I do believe Kevin Durant will be traded in the coming weeks. I expect them to look into the Durant trade market pretty soon. There are going to be a handful of teams that have interest in Durant. They key is this, he has one year left on his contract. Is he going to want to sign an extension and is he going to want to be part of the process in a trade and are the Suns going to let him be?'

The 36-year-old Durant will surely want to sign with a contending team. Moreso, he'll want to land in a place that could become his final destination in the NBA, knowing contract discussions will be taking place in the near future.
Thus, a team like the Knicks would make a lot of sense. Not only are they in a massive market that can take advantage of Durant's superstardom, they'll be a playoff contender for multiple years. Yet, the Knicks are far from the only team that makes sense for Durant this summer.
Other teams that have been loosely linked to a Durant trade include the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs. The Timberwolves have their built-in Anthony Edwards connection with Durant after the two won a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, yet, the idea of playing with Victor Wembanyama has to be intriguing too.

Ultimately, as Windhorst mentioned, it could come down to whether Durant has any say on where he'll be traded to next.

Ngannou, who wore officially licensed UFC Venum gear, joined Usman on stage only as a show of support. Ngannou, 38, hasn't competed since last October, when he defeated Renan Ferreira by knockout in his PFL debut. There's no word when he could fight again. Last month, Ngannou was involved in a fatal motorcyle accident in his native Cameroon, which killed a young woman. Ngannou struck the young woman with his motorcycle while she was walking.

Russell Westbrook will not be exercising his $3.5 million player option with the Denver Nuggets for next season and will instead become a free agent, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press on Friday. The decision doesn't necessarily mean that Westbrook won't be back with the Nuggets, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side revealed the decision publicly. NBA reporter Marc Stein first reported Westbrook's decision, which was later confirmed by ESPN and The Denver Post, among others. Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists for the Nuggets this season — his 17th in the NBA — and helped Denver reach the second round of the playoffs, falling in seven games to eventual Western Conference champion Oklahoma City. He underwent surgery after the season to repair multiple ligament tears in his right hand, an issue he played through during the season. At that time, Westbrook posted in his newsletter than he was 'grateful for everyone's support all year and I can't wait to be back out there at 100% soon. The comeback is already in motion.' That would indicate that he is planning to play somewhere next season. Westbrook is a nine-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA selection and won the MVP award after the 2016-17 season.
