Todd Chrisley 'happy to be home' after prison release

Perth Now30-05-2025

Todd Chrisley is "happy to be home" following his release from prison.
The 'Chrisley Knows Best' star and his wife Julie were jailed in 2023 after being found guilty of 12 counts of tax evasion and fraud with Todd, 54, sentenced to 12 years behind bars and Julie, 50, ordered to serve seven - but they were freed on Wednesday (28.05.25) after being granted a pardon by US President Donald Trump and Todd has now shared his happiness about his release.
In clips captured by his daughter Savannah Chrisley - which she posted on her social media pages - the pair are seen heading out on a shopping trip, with Todd pulling a bag over his head in a bid to avoid being photographed.
In one of the videos, Todd revealed his wife Julie did not come shopping because she's "hiding" at home, adding: "She's smarter than I am."
Todd also declared: "I'm so happy to be home. I'm going to start my skincare routine tomorrow."
It came after Savannah shared a picture of her parent's legs showing the couple together again after a long spell of separation while they were in prison.
She captioned the snap: "Reunited and it feels so good!"
Trump called two of the couple's children - Savannah and Grayson Chrisley - earlier this week to tell them about his intention to pardon their parents. In the call, he told them: "It's a terrible thing, but it's a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean.
"We'll try getting it done tomorrow, so give them - I don't know them - but give them my regards and wish them well. Wish them a good life."
Grayson told him: "Mr. President, I just want to say thank you for bringing my parents back."
White House spokesperson Harrison Fields said in a statement: "[President Trump is] always pleased to give well-deserving Americans a second chance, especially those who have been unfairly targeted and overly prosecuted by an unjust justice system.
"President Trump called Savannah and her brother from the Oval Office to personally inform them that he would be pardoning their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, whose sentences were far too harsh."

MSNBC host has meltdown over Homeland Security deportation poster

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace has had a meltdown over a poster created by the Department of Homeland Security. On Wednesday, Homeland Security released a propaganda-style poster to social media encouraging Americans to report 'foreign invaders'. 'Help your country locate and arrest illegal aliens. To report criminal activity, call 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423),' Homeland Security said with the poster accompanying the post. Despite Wallace's objection and criticism of the poster, several conservative social media users praised the poster's messaging. 'Good. These people break the law, burn the American flag, & chant death to America,' wrote one user.

TV favourite Julie Goodwin shares her easy and delicious dinner that's a chicken pie cross a potato bake

Julie Goodwin won the first season of Masterchef in 2009. Today, Julie is making chicken and leek pie. Instead of pie crust Julie tops this pie with potato bake. The recipe was actually inspired by her sons love of both dishes and she combined the two together. Recipe below: Chicken & leek pie with potato bake top SERVES 4 PREP + COOK TIME 1 HOUR Ingredients 6-8 (800g) medium washed potatoes 1 tablespoon olive oil 600g chicken thigh fillets, cut into 3cm cubes 1 leek, white and pale green parts, sliced 5mm thick 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1 brown onion, diced 2 tablespoons plain flour 1¼ cups chicken stock 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper 300ml sour cream ¾ cup grated tasty cheese fresh chives, green beans, for serving Method 1 Preheat oven to 180°C fan-forced. 2 In a medium saucepan over high heat, place the potatoes into salted water and bring to the boil. Boil for around 20 minutes or until a skewer goes easily through them. The time will depend on the size of the potatoes; don't overcook them. Drain and set aside to cool while you cook the pie filling. 3 Meanwhile, heat one teaspoon of the oil in a medium, heavy-based oven-proof frypan or shallow enamel casserole, and brown half of the chicken. Remove to a bowl and repeat with another teaspoon of oil and the remaining chicken. (It only needs to have some golden colour, not be cooked all the way through at this stage.) 4 Heat the remaining oil in the pan and sauté the leek, garlic and onion until fragrant and translucent. Return the chicken to the pan and sprinkle flour over the top. Stir to coat the chicken. 5 Add the stock, half a cup at a time, allowing the sauce to cook and thicken in between each addition. When all the stock is added, bring the sauce to a simmer and add the mustard, salt and pepper. Remove the pan from the heat. 6 Cut the cooked potatoes into 1cm slices and layer evenly over the chicken mixture. Season to taste. 7 In a small bowl, stir the sour cream until smooth, then spread over the potato. Sprinkle with the cheese. 8 Place the pan into the oven and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Sprinkle with chopped chives and accompany with steamed beans, if you like.

Sarah Jessica Parker refuses to take selfies with fans for surprisingly heartwarming reason

Sarah Jessica Parker has started refusing to take selfies with fans when she's out in public. The Sex and the City star was recently asked for a photo at an airport, and she has explained she turned down the request for a very simple reason. Appearing on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show this week, she said: "So here's what I've been trying to do, because I was just at the airport on Friday. "A woman came up to me and she didn't say hello, she just said, 'Can I take your picture?' "And I said, 'We didn't even meet. You didn't even introduce yourself. What's your name?' " After the stranger said her name was Julie, the 60-year-old actress suggested a conversation might be better than a quick selfie. She added: "I guarantee you it's gonna be so much more meaningful." And she even had another chat with Julie once her family was settled with food. Radio host Howard compared the situation to "a schoolteacher teaching everyone how to behave" and said it must be "annoying", but Sarah disagreed. She explained: "Here's the thing: I kind of prefer it to somebody walking up to me with a camera already ready asking as they're clicking. "I always am, like, startled by it. I much prefer to have a conversation — for someone to come up to me and say, 'Maybe this isn't your best time, my name is Veronica and I'm just here and I'm excited to see you.' " Meanwhile, Sarah recently opened up about being regarded as a style icon, although she insisted other people's perceptions have never had much influence on her choices. She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: 'It's flattering, but it's something I don't really think about. 'I do love clothes and fashion, but I don't go out to be anything other than myself. 'There's a time when you're young when you think a lot about people's opinions of you, but I'd be at a disadvantage to spend a lot of time thinking about what other people think of me now, good or bad. 'It doesn't allow you to be who you are authentically, for better or sores.'
