But Michael Douglas has confessed that - after a three-year break - it would take 'something special' to draw him back to work.
He said: 'I have not worked since 2022 purposefully because I realized I had to stop.
'I had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years, and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set.'
Speaking at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, he added: 'I have no real intentions of going back. I say I'm not retired because if something special came up, I'd go back, but otherwise, no.'
Michael also confessed his decision was partially down to wanting to 'maintain a good marriage'.

Michael recently left TV viewers covering their faces in shock, when he revealed the secret of his marriage to Catherine.
During an interview with US show The View, the esteemed actor talked about the couple's love of golf.
