Foreign man arrested for knife attack on ex-girlfriend in Subang Jaya
The 21-year-old suspect was detained following a police report lodged at around 6.30 pm.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed the arrest, stating that the victim, a 20-year-old foreign student, sustained slash wounds on the left side of her neck.
She was promptly taken to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and is reported to be in stable condition.
Initial investigations revealed that both the suspect and victim were students at the same university.
Authorities are probing the motive behind the attack under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which covers voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons.
The suspect is expected to be remanded tomorrow.

The victim went on to make four transfers totalling RM22,856 to three different bank accounts, purportedly for the tax and further card purchases. However, he became suspicious when more questionable payment requests were made, and eventually realised he had been scammed after he was no longer able to access the Facebook page. Muhammad Rizal said the case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating, and urged the public to remain vigilant when engaging in financial transactions online, especially with unfamiliar parties. Court of Appeal upholds forfeiture of ex-Terengganu assemblyman's wife's car
PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal has upheld the forfeiture of a Proton X70 worth RM115,000 belonging to Aida Tengah, wife of former Terengganu assemblyman Datuk Tengku Hassan Tengku Omar. A three-judge panel unanimously dismissed her appeal, ruling that the prosecution had proven the car was linked to corruption offences. The panel, comprising Justices Datuk Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim, Datuk Azman Abdullah, and Datuk Ahmad Fairuz Zainal Abidin, agreed with earlier court decisions that the forfeiture was justified under Section 41(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009. Justice Ahmad Fairuz stated that the case was an 'in-rem' proceeding, meaning the lawsuit targeted the asset rather than the individual. The court found that the car was purchased using funds misappropriated by Abdul Ahad Khan, a board member of Hygenia Sdn Bhd, who was entrusted with RM3.8 million in investment funds. The RM115,000 used to buy the vehicle was part of the misused money. Additionally, the court ruled that Aida's husband, as a public servant, had received the car as a gift without proper justification under Section 165 of the Penal Code. Police confirm arrest of e-HATI founder, husband
SHAH ALAM: Police today confirmed the arrest of a husband and wife, founders of a company allegedly involved in organising a marriage programme at a convention centre here, which was said to involve immoral activities and the dissemination of questionable beliefs. Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed the arrest. 'The founder of eHati and her husband have been arrested. Further details will be provided once several procedures are completed,' he said briefly in a statement today. Earlier, the media reported that lawyer Datuk M. Reza Hassan, representing the couple, also confirmed the arrest and said his clients were detained by Shah Alam police after giving their statements at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters (IPD). Yesterday, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan reportedly said that all participants who attended the allegedly immoral marriage programme would be called in to have their statements recorded to assist in the investigation.
