Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who proudly carries forward the legacy of the Kapoor clan's love for food, recently opened up about her favorite cuisines, her fitness mantra, and shared sweet anecdotes about her niece, Raha Kapoor. Speaking with Fit Tak, Riddhima candidly discussed everything from her mindful eating habits to the special bond Raha shares with Neetu Kapoor.
'We are born foodies in the Kapoor house. We genuinely enjoy our food," Riddhima smiled, adding that while she doesn't believe in restrictive dieting, she swears by portion control. 'I believe in eating everything — but in moderation. Portion control is the key. I do have binge days once or twice a week," she said. When it comes to cheat meals, Riddhima's heart remains close to home-cooked delights. 'Ghar ka khana is the best. My favorite cuisine is South Indian, and my ultimate comfort meal is curd rice with pickle and papad," she shared.
Addressing Sonam Kapoor's much-discussed comment on infant nutrition and the dangers of giving honey to babies, Riddhima shared her own perspective. 'I have given my child honey. I give her everything — she's a teenager now and, honestly, smarter than me. She even lectures me on what to eat and what to avoid, and I'm impressed," Riddhima laughed, while also stressing, 'It depends on each parent — every mother knows what's best for her child." She did, however, add that she had refrained from giving salt and sweets to her daughter Samara during her infancy.
When asked about her fitness journey, Riddhima revealed yoga has been her steady companion since 2004. 'After Samara was born, I didn't do much initially. But yoga stayed constant for me. I've been doing it for years now. I think I've forgotten what it's like to run on a treadmill!" she joked, mentioning that she sometimes pairs yoga with light weight training but steers clear of traditional gym routines.
Riddhima also shared a heartwarming glimpse into the family bond between her daughter Samara and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's daughter, Raha. 'They both absolutely adore my mother (Neetu Kapoor). Samara calls her 'Nani,' and Raha affectionately calls her 'Deda.' It's so sweet to see," she said.
