As a result of the collision, the engine's brake lining jammed, rendering the locomotive inoperable. Fortunately, none of the coaches were affected, and no injuries were reported among the passengers.
Upon inspection, the loco pilots found the iron rod wedged beneath the engine.
Officials from the Salem Railway Division, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the local Magudanchavadi police rushed to the site. The obstruction was removed, and a relief engine was dispatched from Erode.

17 children rescued from human traffickers at Muzaffarpur station, 6 held
Patna: In a crackdown on human trafficking , the Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued 17 children from Muzaffarpur railway station under 'operation aahat' in close coordination with an NGO and also arrested six people. The operation was conducted by the RPF Muzaffarpur post, falling under Sonepur division of the East Central Railway (ECR), during departure of the Muzaffarpur-Yashwantpur Express (15228) on Monday. According to Muzaffarpur RPF inspector Manish Kumar, the rescued children were being trafficked to cities like Ahmedabad and Bengaluru where they were likely to be engaged in garment factories and retail shops. However, timely intervention by the RPF prevented the plan, he said. The six arrested people were identified as Jabir Ansari (27), Mohd Irshad (22) both from Sitamarhi; Abdul Qayum (26) from Araria; Bachchalal (22) from West Champaran; Kush Kumar (19) from Madhepura and Shravan Yadav, 23, from Supaul. Preliminary investigations revealed that all the six accused were actively involved in an attempt to exploit the minors, the RPF inspector said. The arrested people were booked under multiple legal provisions, he said. Following their arrest, the accused were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) at the Muzaffarpur station for further investigation and legal action. One held for throwing stone at Vande Bharat Express
Patna: Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Muzaffarpur arrested a person in connection with a stone-pelting incident at the Gorakhpur-Patliputra Junction Vande Bharat Express (26502). The incident occurred while the train was moving from Muzaffarpur station around 11.05am on Monday, damaging the window panes of coach C2. No one was injured in the incident, said Muzaffarpur RPF inspector, Manish Kumar. The arrested person was identified as Suresh Sahni (40), a resident of Kurhani in Muzaffarpur district. The stone-throwing caused partial damage to the coach but did not affect the operation of the train, Kumar said, adding that the RPF escort on the train, led by Abhisek Kumar, informed the Muzaffarpur RPF post about the incident that took place hardly 200 metres away from Muzaffarpur station. Immediately, an RPF team led by SI Sushmita Kumari, rushed to the spot and took Sahni into custody, he said. A case was registered against Sahni under Sections 153 and 147 of the Railway Protection Force Act, which pertain to malicious acts intended to endanger the safety of railway passengers and property. Following the arrest, he was handed over to the Muzaffarpur GRP for further legal proceedings. He was produced in the court on Tuesday, the RPF inspector said.
