Newborn Baby Is Actually 30 Years Old Thanks To Medical Miracle

Screen Geek05-08-2025
A surprising science and medical miracle has occurred with the birth of a newborn baby that is actually 30 years old. The baby, named Thaddeus Daniel Pierce, was born from an embryo frozen as far back as 1994. Now, more than three decades later, he has been thawed and successfully birthed in 2025.
As shared via Dexerto, the baby was first donated with a batch of embryos by Linda Archerd in 1994. The outlet describes her as having 'had a rough time finding someone willing to bring those children into the world. She had trouble conceiving at the time with her partner and resorted to IVF (In vitro fertilization), a method of creating an embryo in a lab rather than in your body.'
Archerd donated a total of four embryos that were frozen. One of them was brought to term and born. It was the other three that spent decades frozen before the latest one, young Thaddeus Daniel Pierce, was finally born himself on July 26, 2025, as pointed out via the below social media post.

While she wanted to have another child, she had to instead find another couple as life got in the way, and she finally did after spending $1,000 a year to keep her embryos in cold storage. It wasn't until she discovered embryo adoption that she finally found a way to connect with a potential surrogate family – one that finally worked out after she was turned down by most agencies due to the age of the embryos.
The couple that was ultimately chosen for the opportunity were Tim and Lindsey Pierce, who struggled for seven years to try and have a child. They ultimately decided to try Archerd's embryos. Out of the remaining three, only one survived the process after being thawed, and that embryo became the healthy baby boy now named Thaddeus.
It's an impressive feat that combines the science of 1994 with the technology we now have available in 2025, allowing a 30-year-old embryo to find life as a newborn baby. Meanwhile, the Pierce couple have admitted they didn't want to break any records with their pregnancy, they simply wanted to be able to finally have a child – and they did.

The new Timothée Chalamet movie trailer is about a sport no one respects

After appearing as music icon Bob Dylan last year, the next project from Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet is technically about sports. The 29-year-old actor impressed fans last year by proving his knowledge as a sports fan while appearing on ESPN's College GameDay. He correctly predicted upsets and genuinely seemed like a lot of fun joking around on set. During the exciting postseason run for the New York Knicks, he was also a fixture at Madison Square Garden, even sharing a fun moment with Karl-Anthony Towns. Hopefully, he got a second to pick Towns' brain about what it's like to be a wildly disrespected athlete, because that is exactly what Chalamet will portray in his next film. More: Timothée Chalamet was offered Stephen A. Smith mentorship for an ESPN career The first trailer for the upcoming A24 project Marty Supreme released on Wednesday and it looks wild. Here is what you need to know: "Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness." That dream, it seems, is to become a ping pong star so big that he will appear on the cover of Wheaties boxes. This is the first project from Josh Safdie (Good Time and Uncut Gems) in his solo directorial debut. Chalamet will lead in the first billing but Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary (from Shark Tank), and Tyler, The Creator (as Tyler Okonma) will co-star. Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband's obituary reveals he was in a relationship with her former assistant

Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, was in a relationship with her former assistant before his death, his obituary reveals. According to the obituary, Blackstock – who died of melanoma earlier this month — was dating Brittney Marie Jones, who worked as a production assistant for the singer from 2016 to 2018, according to her LinkedIn profile. 'Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana,' the statement reads. After 20 years in the music industry, Blackstock 'found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live' and moved to Butte, Montana. The talent manager shared two children — River, 11, and Remington, nine — with Clarkson, and two children —Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18 — with his ex-wife, Melissa Ashworth. 'To say he was devoted seems cliché,' the obituary reads. 'It feels like an overused word, but it is the correct word. He was a devoted father. His four children were and will always be his greatest love and his greatest legacy.' A representative for Blackstock confirmed his death in a statement to People last week. 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,' their statement read. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.' Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis confirmed on Monday that Blackstock's cause of death was melanoma, a form of skin cancer, and the manner of his death was natural causes. Days before her ex-husband passed, Clarkson had postponed the remainder of her Las Vegas residency dates for August. 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,' the singer wrote in an Instagram post at the time. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.' Blackstock, stepson of country star Reba McEntire, was married to Clarkson from 2013 to 2022. When finalizing her divorce, Clarkson agreed to give a one-time payment of $1.3 million to her ex-husband, along with $45,601 a month for child support. The 'Stronger' singer has spoken candidly about ending the relationship in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. During an appearance on the We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle podcast in 2023, she explained why she convinced herself to stay with Blackstock for as long as she did. 'I was like, 'I can do this. I can handle so much,'' she said. 'My ego is, 'I can control my actions, I can control my reactions, I can do this and I can reach this person and I can get through.' It becomes a little bit of your ego that gets in the way.'

Ewan McGregor Confirms George Lucas Slowed Down Obi-Wan's Duel With Darth Maul, "Was Worried That People Wouldn't Believe it" — GeekTyrant

Star Wars fans have debated for years whether Star Wars:The Phantom Menace 's epic lightsaber battle between Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ray Park's Darth Maul was really slowed down in post-production because the actors were just too fast. Now, McGregor himself has set the record straight, and it turns out the legend is true. Speaking at Fan Expo Boston, McGregor revealed that George Lucas actually over-cranked the camera during filming to make the fight slightly slower on screen. 'When me and Ray did that fight… George over-cranked. We used to shoot on film, and you can adjust the speed that the film's going through the camera. If you want it to be slow motion, you make the camera run really fast so when you play it back, it's in slow motion.' McGregor recalled Lucas telling the crew, 'They're going too fast. Slightly over-crank the camera.' He continued: 'So they over-cranked the camera to make it slightly slower because me and Ray were so fast doing this fight. He was worried that people wouldn't believe it.' McGregor played Obi-Wan across all three prequel films and returned to the role in 2022's Obi-Wan Kenobi series, where he reunited with Hayden Christensen for a lightsaber duel in a Clone Wars-era flashback. As for Lucas, his on-set tweaks were just one part of his ambitious approach to Star Wars . At one point, he developed Star Wars: Underworld , a live-action series that Rick McCallum says would have 'blown up the Star Wars universe' — but its budget was simply too big for the time. "The problem was that each episode was bigger than the films, so the lowest I could get it down to with the tech that existed then was $40 million an episode," McCallum revealed on the Young Indy Chronicles podcast. It's a fun bit of Star Wars trivia to know that one of the saga's most famous fights was literally too fast in real life for audiences to believe. I would've loved to see them shoot that scene!
