Mike Vrabel bloodied after breaking up Patriots-Commanders training camp fight
Vrabel, a Super Bowl-winning linebacker with the franchise, swooped into the fray after Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson took a Washington defender 'to the ground violently' in a blitz pickup, according to MassLive.
As the fireworks erupted, New England's first-year head coach 'physically jumped in to try to break it up,' with Patriots rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell getting involved by diving on a defender.

The Boston Herald reported Vrabel, 49, was bleeding from his right cheek.
Second-year Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who said he 'almost got in there,' told reporters how someone on the field likened Vrabel's injury to the 'Trump gunshot wound,' an apparent reference to President Trump's injury from last summer's assassination attempt.
'That's what we're trying to build, I think. And it starts with the head coach. The intensity, bringing it every day, taking no crap when we're out there on the field,' Maye said, as covered by WEEI. 'But also, there comes a time with our guys offensively, getting over there and getting into some tussles and having some penalties and extra after the whistle can get us in trouble. But for a mentality, I like it. I mean, I almost got in there, but I think maybe another day, maybe. So we'll see.'

The incident comes two days before the Patriots host the Commanders in their preseason opener.
The game will mark Vrabel's first on the sideline as head coach of his former team.
He took over in January following a disastrous 4-13 run by fellow Patriots alum Jerod Mayo, who was tapped to succeed longtime coach Bill Belichick a year before.

Vrabel served as coach of the Titans from 2018-'23 and made three trips to the postseason in six years. He was relieved of his duties in January 2024 after a 6-11 season.
Vrabel's no-nonsense attitude has been on full display this offseason.
Back in May, when star receiver Stefon Diggs' boat party escapades made headlines — not to mention the appearance of a curious pink powder — Vrabel said 'any conversation' would be kept in-house and moved things along.
He then went on to scold the Boston Globe's Ben Volin last month for not paying attention in a media session. Volin subsequently flagged himself for a 'total lack of focus.'
The Patriots open the season at home on Sept. 7 against the Raiders.

Jared Verse posts his own injury update on social media after knee scare in practice
It doesn't sound like Verse's injury is anything to worry about The Los Angeles Rams were given another injury scare on Thursday when star pass rusher Jared Verse left practice early after banging knees with Braden Fiske on the field. Sean McVay told reporters after practice that he didn't know the severity of it initially but Verse gave an update himself on social media Thursday afternoon. Verse posted on X/Twitter that he's 'fine' after leaving practice, seemingly in good spirits, too. Considering how important Verse is to the Rams' success, it's great to hear his injury isn't anything serious. That doesn't mean he's completely out of the woods yet or that he won't miss any practice time, but it doesn't sound like he'll be out very long, if at all. The Rams will need Verse healthy if they're going to make a run at a Super Bowl this season and he has Defensive Player of the Year aspirations of his own. If he can stay on the field, the sky's the limit.

Andy Reid gushed over Taylor Swift in radio interview
It is no secret that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is a big fan of pop star Taylor Swift. The 14-time Grammy winner has been dating Reid's tight end, Travis Kelce, for two years, and the play caller has frequently talked about them and their relationship. Reid's relationship with Swift predates Kelce meeting the The Tortured Poets Department singer, and he has previously gushed over her bringing the team homemade pop-tarts, worn friendship bracelets and more. The long-time NFL coach talked once again about Swift, this time on 96.5 The Fan with Bob Fescoe and Dusty Likins. The local Kansas City station dug into the details, even getting coach to spill his favorite Taylor album (it's Red). Swift, who Reid called "arguably the most famous woman in the world since the Queen [Elizabeth II] passed away," earned praise from the coach for her handling of the spotlight. He also got into how impactful Swift being around football has been for girls and women interested in the game, and more. Check out the segment here: The Chiefs will be looking to make their fourth straight Super Bowl this season, with Kelce entering his 13th — and potentially final — year in the league.

Aaron Donald flirts with possible NFL return if Rams somehow land Micah Parsons
If Micah Parsons is coming to town, Rams legend Aaron Donald is ready to make it a party. The future Hall of Fame defensive tackle channeled his inner recruiter Wednesday amid the Cowboys star's ugly contract standoff with the club, suggesting he'd suit up again if the Rams somehow swung for the fences. 'If @_micahparsons11 go to the Rams I might have to call @210ths and get in football shape,' Donald wrote in an Instagram post with several laughing emojis. 'Wit that Dline would be unreal.' Advertisement Aaron Donald would form a powerful combination with Micah Parsons in Los Angeles. Getty Images Parsons clearly liked the idea, writing in a separate post, 'Man!!! Dont [sic] tell me info like that!' while tagging his agent, David Mulugheta. A first-round pick in 2014, Donald played all 10 seasons of his NFL career with the Rams before retiring in March 2024. Advertisement He won his lone Super Bowl in 2022 when Los Angeles topped the Bengals, 23-20. Donald's comments come as the drama between Parsons, 26, and the Cowboys continues to simmer. Micah Parsons is still demanding a trade from the Cowboys. Getty Images The four-time Pro Bowl linebacker publicly requested a trade last Friday from the Cowboys, who originally selected him 12th overall in 2021. Advertisement Owner Jerry Jones addressed Parsons' request at training camp over the weekend. 'I would say to our fans, don't lose any sleep over this,' Jones told reporters. 'We're in good shape. This is negotiation.' Mulugheta waded into the back-and-forth this week by giving an intimate look at the tense negotiations, stating on 105.3 The Fan that he's approached the Cowboys twice in less than two years but was rebuffed. The Rams face the Cowboys in their preseason opener Saturday.
