A BIG Brother fan-favourite is set to be ordained as a deacon as he continues on the journey of a huge career change.

Glyn Wise, 37, who previously told how he "prayed my way onto Big Brother", is now in the midst of training to be a priest himself - a mission he started five years ago.
At a service at St Asaph Cathedral, in north Wales, on Saturday June 28 he will be formally recognised and commissioned.
After the ceremony Glyn, who finished runner-up in his Big Brother experience, will be empowered by the church to serve in a ministry of service, liturgy and proclamation of God's word.
The work of a deacon focusses on spreading and serving the Church in poor and marginalised communities.
Glyn's next stage of training will see him based in the Aled Mission Area around Old Colwyn and Betws yn Rhos, according to the diocese of St Asaph.
He has already completed a 770km pilgrimage to the iconic Santiago de Compostela in Spain, believed to be the burial site of the apostle St James, as part of his faith journey.
DIVINE INTERVENTION
Glyn previously spoke out about his work at a church in Camden, London.
And recently, he told how he prayed for a spot on the reality TV series which saw him rocket to fame.
Speaking on This Morning in 2022 about how faith has always been a huge part of his life, Glyn said: 'I grew up in a religious family and I prayed my way onto Big Brother.
"I was asking God can you please just get me into Big Brother.
Pete, Glyn and Victor appear on Big Brother 5 as they reunite 17 years after show
'I was 16 thinking there must be so much more to life, life is so predestined, school then university and I wanted something so different for me.
'Big Brother was what I wanted and it changed everything.'
Previously, he told how he counts Hollywood actor and Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds as one of the congregation at his local church in North Wales.
TOUGH TRAINING
After dropping out of the limelight, Glyn went on to have a normal life, heading to university two years after Big Brother before becoming a teacher.
Glyn then decided to go travelling and ended up working in Shanghai, China, where he 'got rid of the Glyn from Big Brother tag'.
With Christianity growing at a massive scale across Asia, Glyn, always a Christian, embraced his faith and decided to train as a vicar once he got home in 2020.
He previously opened up on what his course entailed and said: 'I'm learning theology, going into depth about the Bible and learning how to cope with people, because you're not only the vicar, you're someone to listen, you're a psychiatrist, you have to help sort people's lives out and spread the good word.
'So there's a concoction of stuff that you need to learn before you become a vicar.'
Despite sporting a very different look now, Glyn says he still gets Big Brother fans coming up to him in church — and he will often weave his past into his sermons.
He says: 'I've got a beard now, I've shaved my head, I'm a man not a boy, but yeah, there's conversations about Big Brother that still come up. People come to church and are like, 'I really loved you when you cooked that egg'.
'And I'm like, 'Can we talk about Jesus Christ now, the Saviour?'.
'But I feel like when you've lived a good life, you've got a lot to talk about when you're up in the pulpit doing a sermon.'

Former Championship manager, 44, now working at Bristol Airport as picture of him in uniform goes viral

A FORMER Championship manager has swapped wingers for wings - by taking a job at Bristol Airport. And fans could barely believe their eyes as he opted for a high-viz instead of a high line. 2 Ex-Swindon and Notts County chief Luke Williams was Swansea boss from January 2024 until his sacking in February 2025. The London-born gaffer, 44, was placed on gardening leave. But despite no doubt receiving a pay-off from the Welsh club when axed four months ago, he was keen to do something worthwhile during his time out of the game. So much so that as he awaits a new stint in a dugout, kind-hearted Williams has undertaken a gig helping disabled and limited-mobility passengers around the Bristol Airport terminal, as reported by The Athletic. He started the job two weeks ago. And it did not take long for a photo of him at his new workplace to go viral. The snap showed humble Williams wearing his yellow reflective vest uniform and lanyard coming out of the lift in Bristol. An X user wrote: "Luke Williams gone from managing the Swans to working in Bristol Airport, someone check VAR." One replied: "He's just doing this because he's bored, he genuinely doesn't care about others' opinions and you have to respect it." Another commented: "Fair play to the guy." Former Premier League manager is told 'f--- you' by his own player before he shushes him in furious Club World Cup row A third joked: "Managing in the top flight." A fourth added: "Cardiff City fan here with nothing but respect for this. Call me woke if you want. (*best believe I'll turn up in full bluebirds kit when I fly out next week)" And a final person typed: "Clearly has a massive work ethic. Good luck to him!" Williams told The Guardian in 2024 that he places a strong emphasis on commitment and dedication, declaring: "In my opinion, motivation in life is everything." He also revealed how he loaded lorries for BHS and drove minibuses to and from nightclubs and airports to fund his early coaching career. In those days, he collected £1.50 for every player who attended his sessions. Williams also applied for an electrician course when he left his coaching role with Swansea under Russell Martin in 2022.

Love Island fans work out Harry's ‘real plan' after Helena is stunned to learn he kissed bombshell Yasmin three times

LOVE Island viewers believe they have worked out Harry's 'real plan' after he snogged Yasmin three times behind Helena's back. Helena was fuming to learn what had happened during last night's challenge, and wasted no time calling it quits with the footballer. 6 6 6 But now fans of the show reckon that Harry didn't lock lips with Yasmin because he wants to be with the brunette bombshell, but more because he wanted Helena to end their coupling as he has his sights set on Shakira. Speaking on reddit, one show devotee wrote: "Let's be honest, Harry never got over what he thought about Helena's lifestyle. Instead of ending it directly he wanted her to do it because he wanted to save face when he realised she heard what he said. They continued: "Let me be frank, When a boy thinks that about any girl they are never going to take them seriously. That is why he started messing around with Yasmin while still coupled up with Helena." And the theorist added that they believe he is playing the game to eventually work his way back to Shakira. They said: "Now that Shakira's in the picture, he's made it obvious that she's his priority but she was in the situation with Ben. Yasmin's basically been sidelined, and it's clear she was just a backup plan to keep him in the villa. "If Helena's lifestyle was an issue for him, Yasmin's boldness probably is too, he just hasn't vocalised it. He's playing the long game and was using people to buy time to get onto Shakira or the next bombshell." There certainly appeared to be something in this fan's intuition after Harry's behaviour in last night's episode. After his kisses with Yasmin were exposed, Helena ended things and he wasn't seen talking to Yasmin again. He did, however, make a beeline for Shakira, who called time on her time with Ben last night. "I wanted to see how you were feeling because I think initially you were number one for me and I kind of f***ed it," he said. Love Island first look: Are Harry and Shakira back on the cards? "It's not even like the pickle I have got in with Helena. I just don't think I would do the things I do if it was you because I know you wouldn't stand for it, Shakira then replied: "It was you and it still is you but it's your behaviour for me that I can't tolerate. "Obviously it's not with me, which is fair, but if you ever did treat me like that, it would just be a f****** waste of time because I would never stand for it, ever." Harry went on to say: "It would be different if we were coupled up and I was getting to know people, I wouldnt have done it. 6 6 6 "I have got away with so much with Helena already, I can just keep getting away with it, kind of thing." In the same reddit post, other fans agreed he likes Shakira but warned he will have eyes for lots of the Casa Amor beauties. One said: "Please, he'll be cracking on in Casa Amor. He likes Shakira for sure but not enough to stop him being a bit of a man s**g lol." A second agreed, chiming in: "If he's like this now I can't imagine casa." Meanwhile a third weighed in, with more words of warning for Shakira. "He wants Shakira, but he only wants her because she's the one who pied him at the beginning and he wants to prove he can get her," they said. "If she thinks he will treat her differently, she is in for a shock."

Alison reacted to the post, quote tweeting it and writing simply "Wow!" in shock. While the initial message was cruel, Alison quickly found herself on the receiving end of positive messages as many fans rallied around to shower her with complements. One wrote in reaction: "Extremely mean and rude. I love watching you, you bring a sparkle to Bake Off and look after the bakers when they are feeling a tad stressed and upset. If that comes through me taking the mickey out of a big star in an interview — like I did with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford or Hugh Jackman — then brilliant, I say." The TV star went on to explain that she has been told by fans how much she has helped them. She said: "I get letters from people saying that they were on the brink of suicide before they watched one of my interviews." She also opened up about how exercise has been helpful for her own mental health. She revealed: "If I'm not filming, the first thing I do — usually several hours before [my son] Aidan wakes up — is go to the gym, where I'll do some heavy lifting. "I've been doing weights for ten years now and I can deadlift 65kg. It's good for my mental health and to prevent osteoporosis. You've got to keep on top of things."
