Chouhan launches ‘Viksit Bharat' yatra from Sehore, Cong slams ‘unfulfilled' farm promises

on Sunday launched the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' from Sehore district in his Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency, engaging with villagers and beneficiaries of various central welfare schemes during a foot march through Ladkui, Bhadakui and Chhindgaon.
During his "padyatra", Chouhan interacted with beneficiaries of 'PM Awas Yojana', welfare schemes of the forest department and tribal welfare department. He also interacted with beneficiaries of the 'Ladli Bahna' scheme and 'Lakhpati Didis'.
Speaking on the occasion, he said: "A developed and strong India is our objective and the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve the goal by 2047 has become a 'mantra' for him.
India will become a developed country when we have a network of roads, power supply and irrigation, there are advanced agricultural techniques, every eligible person has a job, nobody remains hungry and there are medical facilities available to all.

Chouhan said in his padyatra, top officials of agriculture department were accompanying him including director general of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). They will talk to farmers in their farms and apprise them of research in the field of agriculture.
Congress state chief Jitu Patwari, while reacting to Chouhan's padyatra, said Chouhan, who was the union agriculture minister now and had been chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for two decades before that, owed an explanation to farmers of the state whom he had promised that the procurement rate of paddy would be raised to Rs 3,100 and wheat Rs 2,700 per quintal, income of farmers would be doubled, input expenditure in farming would be reduced and the state government would pay the interest due on farmers because none of these promises have been met.
He further said the condition of farmers in MP was "miserable", they were throwing away onions as its price has become as low as Rs 1 per Kg.
Patwari said he had been seeking an appointment with Chouhan to discuss the issues of farmers but he didn't give him time.
He said he will seek time 100 times from Chouhan and if he doesn't give him an audience, he will gherao Chouhan in his constituency with lakhs of farmers where he was taking out "padyatra" as of now.

CLAT PG 2025: Delhi High Court asks NLUs to amend key, declare results
The Delhi High Court on Friday granted relief to CLAT-PG candidates over alleged discrepancies in the answer key and directed the consortium of NLUs to declare results soon. A bench of Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela's decision came over the plea of students in relation to a couple of answers in the key. The court, however, rejected the objection with respect to the declared answer to a third question, and asked the consortium of national law universities (NLUs) to accordingly award marks to the candidates. The court passed the order while deciding three pleas seeking rectification of errors in the final answer key of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)-PG 2025. The bench's verdict highlighted the issue of a high fee of Rs 1,000 charged by the consortium per question for raising the objection to the provisional answer key, observing there ought to be a 'fine balance' between the concerns of the candidates and the institutions. While comparing the fee charged for objected questions by other organisations, the fees sought by the consortium 'appeared to be excessive and disproportionate' but the consortium's concern that it was required to keep frivolous individuals and coaching institutes at bay also did not appear to be 'fanciful or imaginative', it added. The bench, however, expected the consortium to take heed of its observations and take appropriate steps to 'avoid such excessive fee in the next examinations'. 'It may be advisable for the consortium to place this issue before the committee headed by Justice G. Raghuram (retd) for his valuable opinion which may be adhered to by it,' the bench said. The court ruled on the correctness of the answers in the answer key after considering each question and the submissions made by the counsel for the petitioners and the consortium. CLAT determines admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law courses in national law universities in the country. CLAT PG 2025 was held on December 1, 2024. Multiple pleas were filed in different high courts alleging several questions in the exam were wrong. On February 6, the Supreme Court transferred all the petitions over the issue to the Delhi High Court for a 'consistent adjudication'. The top court passed the direction on the transfer petitions of the consortium.

Bengaluru, June 6 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday sharply criticised the Karnataka government for its handling of the recent Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) felicitation event, describing the suspension of Police Commissioner B Dayanand as a political ploy to deflect responsibility. Speaking to the media in a joint BJP JDS press conference, Kumaraswamy said the government was distancing itself from the event, claiming it was not the organiser, but the sincerity of this claim was questionable. 'This is an attempt to manipulate public perception and protect political positions. There is no clear evidence that the government authorised or adequately managed the event,' he said. Kumaraswamy expressed serious concern over the confusion caused by dual arrangements for the event — one at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and another on the Karnataka Legislative Assembly steps — which led to chaotic scenes and loss of lives. He emphasised that poor planning and lack of coordination by the government contributed directly to the tragedy. 'The government's vague permissions and conflicting communication created an unsafe environment for the public. This is not a failure of the police but a failure of the government's leadership and management,' he added. He also highlighted the inadequacy of compensation for victims of the accident, pointing out a stark disparity. 'In other states, victims receive good amount of compensation for serious accidents, whereas here only Rs 10 lakh is offered. While money cannot replace life, better humanitarian support is the least the families deserve,' Kumaraswamy said. On the suspension of police officials, he argued that merely suspending a few officers was a superficial response. 'Suspending two or four officers and damaging their reputations won't solve the deeper problems. The government must take full responsibility for the mismanagement,' he asserted. Kumaraswamy urged the government to stop blaming police personnel and focus on delivering justice and support to the victims and their families. 'There is no room for political games in tragedies. The people of Karnataka deserve transparency, accountability, and humane governance,' he concluded.
