State will be 1st to reach 100% target of Awas acheme: CM

1 2 3 Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said Maharashtra is set to provide 30 lakh houses to homeless people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas scheme and become the first state in India to achieve 100% of the target. He also said a fresh survey would be carried out to identify homeless people who are yet to benefit. The CM was speaking at a PM Awas Yojana award function in Pune with Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the chief guest. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was also present at the event. Fadnavis said, "The central govt considered the socio-economic survey of 2011 to identify homeless people when the scheme was launched. However, it was full of faults. Only 10 lakh people from the state were named and housing sanctioned to them all. We carried out a fresh survey in 2018 and the number had gone up to 30 lakh." Meanwhile, the state govt has expedited the process to provide necessary permissions for houses sanctioned by the Centre to the 30 lakh people. "Maharashtra will become the first state in the country to achieve 100% target under the PM Awas scheme," he added. During his speech, Chouhan told the state govt to do yet another survey to zero in on more homeless people. "The Centre has sanctioned houses to all homeless people in Maharashtra as per the 2018 survey. However, I urge the state to conduct a fresh one to see if anyone falling under the category has been left out. If the state provides a fresh list, we will sanction it too." Bhopal: Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday launched the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' from Sehore district in his Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency, engaging with villagers and beneficiaries of various central welfare schemes during a foot march through Ladkui, Bhadakui and Chhindgaon. During his "padyatra", Chouhan interacted with beneficiaries of 'PM Awas Yojana', welfare schemes of the forest department and tribal welfare department. Speaking on the occasion, he said: "A developed and strong India is our objective and the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve the goal by 2047 has become a 'mantra' for him. India will become a developed country when we have a network of roads, power supply and irrigation, there are advanced agricultural techniques, every eligible person has a job, nobody remains hungry and there are medical facilities available to all. " "Building a developed nation is not limited to construction of bridges, roads, schools and hospitals but it also includes a dignified life for people and even the poor have sufficient resources." Chouhan said in his padyatra, top officials of agriculture department were accompanying him including director general of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). They will talk to farmers in their farms and apprise them of research in the field of agriculture. Congress state chief Jitu Patwari, while reacting to Chouhan's padyatra, said Chouhan, who was the union agriculture minister now and had been chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for two decades before that, owed an explanation to farmers of the state whom he had promised that the procurement rate of paddy would be raised to Rs 3,100 and wheat Rs 2,700 per quintal, income of farmers would be doubled, input expenditure in farming would be reduced and the state government would pay the interest due on farmers because none of these promises have been met. He further said the condition of farmers in MP was "miserable", they were throwing away onions as its price has become as low as Rs 1 per Kg. Patwari said he had been seeking an appointment with Chouhan to discuss the issues of farmers but he didn't give him time. He said he will seek time 100 times from Chouhan and if he doesn't give him an audience, he will gherao Chouhan in his constituency with lakhs of farmers where he was taking out "padyatra" as of now.

Yogi inaugurates ₹724cr projects in Kasganj, announces Soron's development on lines of Ayodhya

Agra: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday participated in the foundation laying ceremony of 60 development projects worth Rs 724 crore in Kasganj district. The CM announced that Soron, a sacred place on the banks of the Ganga river in Kasganj, would be developed on par with Ayodhya, Mathura, and Vrindavan. Besides this, the projects include a state-of-the-art police line spread over 25.63 hectares in the district. Addressing a gathering on his visit to Kasganj, Yogi said, "The value and significance of a uniform cannot be overstated. You have recently witnessed the valour of Indian soldiers who broke Pakistan's back through Operation Sindoor. Now India has made it clear: If you dare to harm even one of our citizens, you will struggle for your existence. And today, Pakistan is pleading across the world, begging for mercy." "Under the PM's leadership over the last 10 years, significant efforts have been made to modernise and strengthen the army. Continuous initiatives have been taken, and that's why the Indian Army is always prepared to confront any enemy. If the enemy dares to act, the Indian Army has the full capability to enter their territory and eliminate the threat," he added. In his address, the CM also criticised the Samajwadi Party, and said, "Before 2017, an atmosphere of fear prevailed in Uttar Pradesh. Streets emptied at dusk, miscreants roamed freely, and riots erupted frequently. Neither daughters nor traders were safe." The CM distributed a range of benefits to residents, including certificates and tablets under skill and education schemes, house keys under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana and PM Awas Yojana (Urban), Rs 5 lakh cheques under Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana, Gharauni certificates, Ayushman Bharat cards, and laptops under Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana.
