As we head into the final half of 2025, we still expect several headlining smartphones to debut. The Pixel 10 series and the iPhone 17 line remain the main cards, but it appears that Samsung's preparing to steal the limelight.
Yes, we already expected the next Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models to launch shortly, but Samsung has now thrown a spanner in the works. It's announced that an Ultra-branded foldable will debut this summer, perhaps as soon as July. While no name has been offered yet, we can only assume that its Z Fold will receive the moniker based on the press material.
Now, the Ultra moniker is reserved for Samsung's premier device line, offering consumers the best of the best. Take the Galaxy S25 Ultra, for instance. It has the largest battery in the company's range, the best camera system, and the S Pen. So, given a Fold Ultra, can we expect this device to pack a similar trim level? Notably, Samsung teases a device in the same vein as the S25 Edge, concentrating on portability and thinness. But is a focus on design rather than features really enough to warrant the Ultra name? I'm not so sure.
Here are some other questions: You're in charge at Samsung: Which features or specs would your ideal Galaxy Z Fold Ultra model include?
Do you think there's room for an Ultra model in Samsung's foldable lineup, or will something have to give?
Samsung's drive towards thinness is continuing. Are you a fan or detractor of this journey?
Would you buy a Galaxy Z Fold Ultra over a Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Stocks Will Rally Despite Extended Dollar Declines, MLIV Pulse Survey Finds

US equities will put the worst of this year's trade-war turmoil behind them and rally to fresh highs in 2025, according to a survey of Bloomberg subscribers who attended a panel discussion on macro trends. The S&P 500 will climb to 6,500 — a better than 9% increase from Thursday's close — by year-end, according to 44% of the 27 responses in a Markets Live Pulse survey. The index was seen reaching that level by the first half of next year by 26% of participants, with 11% saying it would happen in the second half and the remainder estimating 2027 or later.

New Pixel Watch setting could automatically lock your left-behind phone (APK teardown)

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority TL;DR Watch Unlock on the Pixel Watch allows your smartwatch's presence to keep your phone unlocked. Right now, that doesn't work in the opposite direction, and walking away from your phone won't automatically lock it. Google appears to be working on a 'lock on disconnect' option that would finally offer that ability. While there's no guaranteed way to prevent phone theft, making sure you keep your handset locked is probably the single easiest and most effective step you can take. Android already offers plenty of ways to help make sure your phone is locked when it needs to be, like how Theft Detection Lock can use device sensors to recognize when it's been snatched out of your hands, and accordingly lock things down. Today we're looking into another development in this direction, as we spot evidence for a new auto-lock feature. Authority Insights story on Android Authority. An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release. Pixel Watch users can already take advantage of Watch Unlock to use the presence of their wearable to keep their phone unlocked — so long as your Watch itself is unlocked, when it's nearby and connected to your phone over Bluetooth, you won't need to enter your PIN or use biometrics on the phone. Watch Unlock works great for what it is — you even get a notification on your wrist and can manually re-lock the phone — but so far it's only really functioned in this one direction. That is, while the presence of your Pixel Watch can be used to unlock your phone, we haven't had the option where its absence locks your phone. That's a shame, because something like that could be handy if you've got an especially long screen timeout setting, and are worried about accidentally wandering off and leaving your phone somewhere while it's unlocked. Code Copy Text Phone will lock when it disconnects from your watch, like when it's far away Lock phone when left behind Looking at version 3.5.0.758720535 of the Google Pixel Watch app, we spot some new text strings that appear to quite clearly describe just that kind of auto-lock ability. This 'lock on disconnect' feature would look for the presence of your connected Pixel Watch, and activate your screen lock when that connection is lost. While we're not seeing this in the app just yet, Telegram user nailsad_eleos was able to coax out an early appearance in the settings menu: @nailsad_eleos / Telegram As you can see, it's not at all functional at the moment, but this is at least where we should expect this control to show up once Google's ready to share it. Admittedly, this feature might be a bit of an edge case in terms of the security need it addresses, but we can imagine that lots of Pixel Watch owners might still appreciate the peace of mind from this kind of extra protection. We'll let you know if and when we're able to get it working. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . You can stay anonymous or get credit for the info, it's your choice.

Walmart Deals of the Day: Save $70 on Beats' Sleek On-Ear Solo 4 Headphones

Summer is just around the corner, and Walmart is celebrating the warm weather with a fresh batch of savings. You'll find thousands of offers available online, and there are some true bargains to be had if you're willing to sift through all of the deals. Fortunately, CNET has done most of the heavy lifting for you, and we've collected some of best daily offers below. For today, June 6, that includes a top-rated pair of over-ear Beats headphones that you can grab for $70 off, a single-serve Keurig brewer that whips up refreshing iced coffees on sale for less than $60 and a previous-gen Samsung smartwatch available for just $99. If you find over-ear headphones to be a little bulky, the Beats Solo 4s are an excellent alternative. They're one of our favorite pairs of on-ear headphones for 2025, with our reviewer commending them for their sound quality, battery life and voice-calling performance. They lack active noise cancellation, but do support spatial audio if you're an Apple user. Plus, they boast an impressive 50 hours of listening time per charge. They're also very lightweight at just 217 grams, and the plush ear cushions help reduce outside noise. Now that the warm summer weather is here, a refreshing iced coffee is the perfect way to start your day. And with this single-serve Keurig brewer, you can make it at home in minutes. It has a special "brew over ice setting" that starts hot to help extract flavor and then cools down so it won't melt the ice and water down your drink. It has multiple different cup size settings, and this deal also comes with a 12-ounce tumbler so you can take your coffee on the go. This 2021 Samsung smartwatch is now three generations old, but it's a great option for those on a tight budget who don't want to spend $300 or more on the latest model. It's equipped with a 40mm display and 16GB of onboard storage, and still has all the basic features you need. These include tons of fitness tracking functions like preset workout modes, sleep tracking and even a built-in ECG, as well as some convenient smart features like on-wrist notifications and support for tons of Android apps. Both the black and pink gold variants are on sale.
