The attack took place on 22 April, when terrorists targeted tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam. Tragically, 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen lost their lives, and several others were injured.
Since then, the police and security forces have been carrying out raids across different areas of Anantnag. Day and night searches are ongoing with extra vigilance. So far, around 175 suspects have been detained for questioning as part of efforts to break down the networks supporting
terrorist activities

To strengthen security, more Mobile Vehicle Check Points (MVCPs) have been set up throughout the district to watch for suspicious movements and ensure public safety.
In addition, Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs), ambushes, and increased patrolling have been launched, especially in dense forest areas, to find and remove any hidden terrorists and make the district secure.

His alleged crime? Espionage. According to authorities, Singh was allegedly working with Pakistan's notorious spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), apart from filming videos for social media. A resident of Mehli village in Punjab's Rupnagar district, he was nabbed in Mohali by the Special Operations Cell (SSOC) of the Punjab Police. Investigators claim he had been in contact with a known ISI asset, Shakir alias Jatt Randhawa – an Indian-origin alleged operative working for Pakistani intelligence. But the rabbit hole goes deeper. Sources say Singh was also in touch with Danish, aka Ehsan-ur-Rahim – a Pakistani official previously posted at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. Even more startling are Singh's repeated visits to Pakistan – not once, but three times – in 2020, 2021 and 2024. The police say Singh was closely connected to Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was also arrested just weeks ago on similar spying charges and accompanied her on some of these trips. Nanded cops shoot and nab wanted man carrying illegal firearms in 'operation flush out'
Aurangabad: A wanted criminal was shot in the leg and arrested by Nanded Rural Police on Tuesday evening after he allegedly aimed an illegal firearm at officers attempting to apprehend him. The incident took place as part of 'Operation Flush Out'ordered by Nanded superintendent of police Abinash Kumar. Following the incident, Kumar told TOI, "We reiterate that strict action will be taken against anyone found possessing illegal firearms or displaying weapons on social media platforms like Instagram with the intent to create fear or intimidation. We have tasked the cybercrime branch with tracking down such elements so that appropriate legal action is taken against them. " In the latest case, the accused, Prabhakar Hambarde, a resident of Vishnupuri, was wanted in connection with multiple offences, including a recent case registered for attempt to murder at Nanded Rural Police Station. The accused is said to have nine cases against him at different police stations in Nanded. Police said that the accused, who was behind bars for over a year, was recently released. Acting on the information, inspector Omkant Chincholkar and his team, including PSI Dnyaneshwar Matwad and others, began a search for Hambarde. Around 7.30 pm, Hambarde was spotted riding a bike with registration number MH-26-BK-4386 on Pangri Road. SP Kumar said, "When Hambarde saw the approaching team, he started fleeing. During the chase, he reportedly took out a pistol with the intent to open fire at the police. In a swift response, inspector Chincholkar fired a round from his service pistol below Hambarde's waist. The bullet hit Hambarde below the knee, causing him to collapse and drop the weapon. " The illegal country-made pistol was seized from the spot for further legal action. Hambarde was immediately rushed to the govt hospital in Vishnupuri for treatment. A forensic team and panch witnesses were called to the scene to document the evidence, police said. A senior official said that an assistant inspector rank officer has been tasked with overseeing the legal proceedings in the case.

Woman files plaint against hubby for murder attempt & hurting religious feelings
Nashik: A woman registered a case of attempted murder and hurting religious sentiments with regard to her marriage against her husband and in-laws at the Ambad police station in Nashik city on Tuesday. She said the accused allegedly threatened her with dire consequences, attempted to kill her and hurt her religious sentiments and that of her family members. Senior police inspector Rakesh Hande said, "The woman registered the complaint against her husband and four members of his family, claiming she was ill-treated since 2019." Police said the woman was allegedly harassed frequently by her in-laws. The complainant said that after she delivered a baby girl, the accused fought with her and threatened to kill her with a chopper. She was told to bring money from her father. The woman gave Rs2 lakh on three occasions (totalling Rs6 lakh) to her husband. Meanwhile, her husband almost strangled her when she was pregnant for the second time. However, she managed to escape to her parents' house. Now, she has registered a complaint against her husband and in-laws for attempted murder and hurting her religious sentiments during the period.
