Dhanashree Verma is all set to step into the world of acting with her debut in the Telugu film 'Akasam Daati Vastaava'. Touted to be a dance-centric project, the film is backed by acclaimed producer Dil Raju, known for delivering South Indian hits like 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam', 'Varisu', and 'HIT: The First Case'.Directed by Sri Sasi Kumar, 'Akasam Daati Vastaava' features a fresh ensemble cast, details of which are expected to be announced soon, according to The Hollywood Reporter India.advertisementEarlier reports suggested that choreographer Yash will play the lead role, while Malayalam actor Karthika Muralidharan is set to appear in a pivotal role. While pursuing a career in the medical field, her passion for dance led her to train under the legendary choreographer Shiamak Davar. She eventually went on to establish her own dance academy, the Dhanashree Verma Company.Dhanashree rose to prominence through her dynamic dance videos on platforms like YouTube and Instagram, where she is known for blending traditional Indian dance forms with modern styles. Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's high-octane action film War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has seen a slowdown in its weekday box office performance. Despite a promising start, the film's momentum is slowing down after its opening weekend. War 2 Collections Dip According to trade website Sacnilk, War 2 earned Rs 7.79 crore net across all languages in India on its sixth day, taking the total to Rs 192.29 crore. The film had grossed Rs 183.50 crore in its first five days, but Tuesday's earnings highlighted a notable dip. On release day, the film recorded massive occupancy and strong collections, but weekdays have brought reduced numbers, signalling a weaker hold compared to expectations. Occupancy in Hindi and Regional Markets In the Hindi version, War 2 saw an overall occupancy of 16.74% nationwide. Morning shows opened at 11.71% occupancy, rising to 21.77% in the afternoon. Among cities, Jaipur topped with 32% occupancy, followed by Bengaluru at 27% and NCR at 23.5%. Mumbai (14.5%), Pune (13%), and Hyderabad (10%) registered moderate numbers, while Ahmedabad (9%) and Surat (6.5%) were lower. Chennai (17.5%) and Kolkata (18.5%) showed steadier turnout. The Telugu version had 15.30% overall occupancy, beginning at 14.15% in morning shows and climbing slightly to 16.44% later. The Tamil version showed similar results, with 16.44% morning occupancy and 17.08% in the afternoon. About War 2 War 2 is part of YRF's expanding Spy Universe, which also includes Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Salman Khan's Tiger franchise. Alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film stars Kiara Advani in a pivotal role. The film ends with a post-credits scene teasing the next instalment—Alpha—featuring Bobby Deol in a cameo to set up the story. Grammy-nominated kirtan artist Krishna Das announces India tour; check details Following the successful presentations of artists Radhika Das and Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, Grammy-nominated global icon Krishna Das is all set to make his much-awaited return to India after a year-long hiatus. Hailed as the 'chant master of American Yoga' by The New York Times and a favoured contemporary spiritual luminary among celebrities like Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma , Krishna Das will bring his soul-stirring devotional chants to three major Indian cities this fall. His India tour has been organised by the Team Innovation Cultural in association with 7E Entertainment and Unified Music Group. It will commence at the Brahmakamal Hall, Yashobhoomi Exhibition & Trade Centre, New Delhi, on October 31, followed by a performance at the Dome SVP Stadium, Mumbai, on November 2. It will conclude at Phoenix Marketcity, Backyard Area, Bengaluru, on November 5. "Fans across India will have the unique opportunity to experience his timeless kirtans, new renditions and an immersive live experience that transcends cultural and spiritual boundaries. The events will seamlessly blend traditional Hindu devotional music with Western harmonic sensibilities, cultivating an atmosphere conducive to deep connection and meditation," the organisers said, as per the press release. It added that the primary Kirtan performances, each spanning approximately 2.5 hours, will predominantly feature the powerful call-and-response chanting of sacred mantras and divine names. These highly immersive events will be centred around collective chanting, with spoken commentary being judiciously limited. Speaking on his return to India for the tour, Krishna Das described it as a "profound experience." "The devotion and receptivity of the audiences here are unparalleled. My hope is that these chants and workshops will offer a space for everyone to connect more deeply with their own hearts, to find that inner peace and joy that is always available. It's about sharing a sacred sound that brings us all home in these current chaotic times," he said. His resonant baritone voice and energising East-meets-West take on traditional Indian devotional chanting has become the soundtrack for the growing worldwide yoga movement throughout the past two decades. After beginning as the frontman for Soft White Underbelly/ Blue Oyster Cult in the late '60s, Krishna Das travelled to India in 1970, where he became a follower of the spiritual teacher Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaj-ji). He went on to work with musical heavyweights such as GRAMMY winners Rick Rubin, Sting and Steely Dan's Walter Becker.
