Labor's ‘eat the rich' super tax will harm the young aspirationals

'Eat the rich' may be the guiding principle of Labor's new superannuation tax, but aspirational young Australians will be gobbled up instead.
At first blush, Labor's new super tax reflects the politics of class conflict in the spirit of French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, whose phrase 'eat the rich' warned that the poor may take the heads of the rich who build wealth at their expense.

Western leaders ‘turned their backs' on Iranians seeking regime change

Israeli journalist Emily Schrader has called for the international community to 'support' the Iranian people who are fighting back against the regime and desire a change. US President Donald Trump's ceasefire has opened a window for Australians to leave the Middle East. 'There have been multiple waves of massive protests across the country in recent decades and every single time, Western leaders in the Western world ... have really turned their backs on the Iranian people,' Ms Schrader told Sky News host Steve Price. 'Instead of holding the regime accountable for their crimes ... we have seen instead the West give them sanction relief, cut deals, do all kinds of things that really prop up the regime and give them a lifeline in the end.'

Albanese exhibits ‘anti-US' sentiments after lacklustre support for US strikes on Iran

Shadow Defence Minister Angus Taylor says the Albanese government is exhibiting "anti-US alliance" sentiments, demonstrated by Labor's lacklustre support for US strikes on Iran. 'This was the right thing for the United States to do, Israel was entirely entitled to take action against Iran,' Mr Taylor told Sky News host Sharri Markson. 'It was well within the rights of Israel to do what it did … the United States has played a very deft hand in the approach it's taken on this. 'There seems to be an anti-US alliance sentiment coming from Albanese and others in the government.'
