Telangana POLYCET 2025 results declared; Over 80% qualify
The State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) 2025 results were declared on Saturday morning.
For a total of 98,858 appeared candidates, 81.88% candidates in MPC stream and 84.33% candidates in MBiPC stream cleared the test who will now be eligible to pursue diploma courses in different streams.
In both the streams, girl candidates recorded better performance with 85.26% (boys at 78.97) and 88.54 % (80.69) respectively.
The results were declared by Commissioner Technical Education A.Sridevasena, Secretary B. Srinivas, Joint Secretary Shafiaz Aktar, and other officials.
The top rankers in MPC stream are: Goruganti Sreeja (Suryapet), Thumati Laasya Sree (Khammam), Vundyala Koushik Narayana (Mahbubnagar), Visavaram Deekshika (Sangareddy). The four candidates share the rank 1 with a total score of 120 marks each.
The top rankers in MBiPC stream are: Goruganti Sreeja (Suryapet), Thumati Laasya Sree (Khammam), Shaik Ifra Tasneem (Suryapet), and Vundyala Koushik Narayana (Mahbubnagar).

Government launches ‘Shining Stars Award' to honour SSC, Inter toppers
VIJAYAWADA: In a bid to promote academic excellence, the State government has introduced the 'Shining Stars Award' for the 2024–25 academic year, replacing earlier award schemes. The initiative aims to recognise high-achieving students from both government and private institutions who excel in the SSC and Intermediate public examinations. As per a recent government order, SSC students securing 500 out of 600 marks (83.33%) or more will be honoured at the mandal level. For Intermediate, students scoring 830 and above will be recognised at the district level. The scheme also includes special provisions for Children With Special Needs (CWSN). Each awardee will receive a cash prize of Rs 20,000, a medal, and a certificate. Six SSC students per mandal—across OC, BC, SC, and ST categories—will be selected. In the Intermediate category, 36 students per district will be awarded from various streams, including MPC, BiPC, HEC, CEC/MEC, and Vocational courses, along with CWSN achievers. Secretary of the School Education Department, Kona Sasidhar, said the awards aim to inspire merit and sustained learning without income-based restrictions. 'It's a celebration of talent and determination,' he noted. The awards will be distributed on June 9 at district headquarters in events chaired by respective District In-charge Ministers. The Board of Intermediate Education will fund the programme.

Meritorious students to be presented with ‘Shining Star' awards
The Department of School Education has introduced 'Shining Stars Award' to promote academic excellence. A G.O. released to this effect on Friday (June 6) said meritorious students who secure the highest marks in SSC Public Examinations and students who secure the highest marks in each group — MPC, BiPC, HEC and CEC/MEC — in Intermediate Public Examination would be recognising as 'Shining Stars' and given an award comprising a cash prize of ₹20,000, a merit certificate and a medal. Students from both government and private institutions are eligible. In schools, students who secure 500 and above out of the total 600 marks, i.e. equivalent to 83.33 % and above, among OC, BC, SC, ST and Minority sections would be considered for selection in a particular mandal in the SSC exams. Among Children with Special Needs (CwSN) the eligibility for selection is 70% marks and above. For Intermediate students, those who secure 830 and above marks among OC, BC, SC, ST and Minority sections would be considered for selection from a particular district in the Intermediate Public Examinations of the preceding academic year. Among CwSN, those secure 700 marks and above would be considered for selection. The Director of School Education and the Board of Intermediate Education would respectively prepare the list of students eligible to receive the awards.

VIP Felicitates Rural Girl Toppers, Awards Scholarships for Academic Excellence
Mahabubnagar: In a heartening initiative to promote girl child education, Villages In Partnership (VIP) organised a felicitation ceremony at its office premises in Mahabubnagar today. The event honoured seven girl students from government schools across Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, and Wanaparthy districts who excelled in their Intermediate first-year examinations. These students, all of whom had earlier been recognised as Mandal Toppers for their outstanding performance in Class 10 Telugu Medium government schools, have now repeated their success at the Intermediate level, becoming toppers in their respective streams. As a mark of encouragement, VIP awarded each of these toppers a cash prize of ₹1,116 and a deposit of ₹5,000. The event was presided over by VIP Executive Secretary Sri TKS Sarma, who handed over the certificates, while Executive Director Dr T. Nagender Swamy addressed the gathering online via Zoom, applauding the students and parents for their hard work and dedication. The list of toppers included: M.
