AP: Water released to Yeleru reservoir to tide over dry spell: Kakinada Collector
Mohan said that according to schedule, the water was to be released into the Reservoir during the first week of August but had to be advanced taking in to consideration the farmers problems and the dry spell.` Pithapuram ex-MLA SVSN Varma has represented the Minister for Irrigation Nimmala Ramanayudu on the need for early releasing of water to Yeleru reservoir as the agricultural operations are being delayed in tail end areas.
Now the farmers can commence the agricultural operations as there would be no water problem, he added.
Collector advised the farmers to plan their khariff-2025 season operations depending upon the water releasing time.
Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Nehru, Prathipadu MLA Varupula Satya Prabha, Pithapuram Janasena party incharge Marreddy Srinivas attended the water releasing function, he added.

New Delhi July 28 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1 pm, after members of the Opposition parties created a ruckus demanding discussion on Special Intensive Revision (SIR). When the House reconvened at 12 PM, the presiding officer, Krishna Prasad Tenneti, called for the laying of papers on the table. Meanwhile, protesting Opposition members entered the Well of the House, holding placards that read 'No SIR' and shouting slogans such as 'We want discussion on SIR.' Amid the commotion, papers were laid on the table. Speaker Om Birla urged the protesting members to return to their seats, reminding them that the House was scheduled to take up a discussion on Operation Sindoor. However, the sloganeering continued. Objecting to the conduct of the Opposition members, the Speaker said, 'First, you ask for a debate on Operation Sindoor, then you come into the Well of the House. If you truly wish to participate in the discussion, please go back to your seats.' He further asked, 'Do you want to discuss Operation Sindoor or not? Protesting in the Well of the House does not lead to a discussion. The discussion will happen only when you are seated in your chairs.' Despite repeated appeals, the Opposition members continued their protest, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the House till 1 PM. CJI Gavai, SC judges call for Bar-Bench unity, women-led legal future
Srinagar, Jul 27 (UNI) In a powerful show of judicial unity and commitment to inclusive legal reform, Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai and several Supreme Court judges converged in Srinagar for the North Zone Regional Conference organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in collaboration with the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), the conference titled 'In Conversation with the Bar: A Shared Vision for Legal Transformation' aimed to strengthen collaboration between the Bar and Bench in delivering justice to the most vulnerable sections of society, particularly in frontier regions. 'Presiding over the conference, Chief Justice Gavai, who also serves as Patron-in-Chief of NALSA, emphasised the judiciary's constitutional mandate to ensure last-mile access to justice, especially for marginalised and underprivileged communities. 'NALSA, under the leadership of Justice Surya Kant and in future, Justice Vikram Nath, will continue to pave the way for a stronger, more inclusive justice delivery system,' CJI Gavai said. 'Women empowerment remains a cornerstone of this vision,' he added. He concluded his address with a stirring call for national integration, quoting the iconic lyric, 'Chhodo kal ki baatein, kal ki baat purani, aao milkar likhein nayi kahani, hum hain Hindustani.' Delivering the keynote address, Justice Surya Kant, Executive Chairman of NALSA, highlighted the growing presence of women in the legal profession in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. 'The future of the justice delivery system in this region will largely be led by women, whether from the Bar or on the Bench,' he declared, celebrating the emerging generation of women advocates and judges as torchbearers of reform. The conference also featured insights from several other Supreme Court judges, each of whom focused on key structural and regional concerns: Justice N. Kotiswar Singh advocated for a dedicated High Court bench in Ladakh and enhanced infrastructure for women advocates, including exclusive chambers. Justice Rajesh Bindal called for upgrading technological infrastructure across the district courts of J&K and Ladakh. Justice P.S. Narasimha emphasised that 'the Bar and Bench are two wheels of the same chariot,' lauding the adaptability and dedication of the legal community. Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha also addressed the gathering, reinforcing NALSA's vision of inclusive justice rooted in grassroots engagement. Chief Justice Arun Palli of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh welcomed the dignitaries and acknowledged the enthusiasm and intellectual depth of the region's young legal professionals. 'Our young lawyers possess clarity of thought and a strong command over law, while our senior advocates continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism,' he said. The conference marked a significant milestone in NALSA's ongoing efforts to democratise access to justice in remote and underserved areas. Putin depicts Russian navy as pivotal in safeguarding national security, sovereignty
Moscow, July 28 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin underscored the navy's pivotal role in protecting Russia's sovereignty and national security, as he oversaw its maneuvers, codenamed "July Storm," during Russia's Navy Day celebrations on Sunday. "Our primary task is to ensure Russia's security and defend its sovereignty and national interests. The navy plays a crucial role in this mission," Putin said. The large-scale operational maneuvers, which commenced on July 23, are being conducted simultaneously across multiple regions, notably the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, as well as the Caspian and Baltic Seas, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The "July Storm" exercise involves over 150 warships and support vessels, 120 aircraft, 10 coastal missile systems, 950 units of military equipment, and more than 15,000 personnel, the ministry said. Putin said that the exercise draws on lessons learned from the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine. "We will continue to enhance the combat readiness of our surface ships, submarines, coastal units and aviation, equipping them with the latest technologies and weaponry." He also revealed plans to strengthen the navy's capabilities, noting that five Marine Corps brigades will be upgraded to divisions, with two already scheduled for this year. "This transformation will significantly improve the navy's strike power and operational effectiveness," Putin added. Due to security concerns, this year's main naval parade, traditionally held in St. Petersburg, has been canceled. "While Navy Day is a festive occasion, given the current circumstances, it is more appropriate to observe it in a combat-ready environment, with the navy demonstrating its operational prowess," Putin explained. Following the maneuvers, Putin extended his congratulations to the navy personnel at the Admiralty in St. Petersburg, praising their dedication and skill in showcasing the navy's combat readiness. Russia's Navy Day, first celebrated in 1939, has featured the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg since 2017, in accordance with a presidential decree.
