
Man arrested for hiding women in bus to enter Makkah illegally
MAKKAH: The Haj Security Forces have arrested a Ghanaian resident for attempting to illegally transport four female expatriates to Makkah in violation of haj regulations and instructions, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The man, who was driving a bus, tried to smuggle the women into the holy city without haj permits by hiding them in the luggage compartment.
Authorities apprehended the driver and the passengers, and all were referred to the competent committee to implement legal penalties. – BERNAMA

(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : The owner of a spa and beauty salon in Bachok, Kelantan, thwarted an attempt to splash acid on her face two days ago, but suffered burns on her back and hands. Syahrul Ikhwan Seri Buana said two individuals wearing purdah, or veils, appeared at the door of his wife Nor Faziera Muda's salon, Utusan Malaysia reported. Suddenly, another person standing behind them came forward and splashed acid towards her, Syahrul, 33, said. He said Faziera, 27, called him immediately, before members of the public took her to a nearby clinic. Faziera was taken to Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian, where she was treated for burns on her back and hands. Berita Harian reported Syahrul as saying that Faziera had received a message from a 'customer' requesting a massage package, and telling her that she would be wearing a purdah. He said Faziera managed to avoid being splashed on the face with the acid as she was still wearing her prayer garments after her evening prayers. Bachok police chief Ismail Jamaluddin said police managed to lift four sets of fingerprints from the scene, and recover a container used to contain the acid. He said an investigation is being carried out under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means.
