Dubai Chambers showcases its integrated services to support business growth to 180 representatives from the private sector

Web Releasea day ago
Dubai Chambers recently organised a dedicated workshop aimed at highlighting its comprehensive suite of services designed to support the growth and competitiveness of the business community both locally and internationally. The online session attracted 180 representatives from across the private sector.
Participants were introduced to the full range of programmes, initiatives, and services offered by the three chambers operating under the Dubai Chambers umbrella – Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai International Chamber, and Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. The workshop outlined efforts to drive the success and expansion of local companies, while creating new growth opportunities across diverse sectors in support of Dubai's broader economic development.
The session explored the benefits of membership with Dubai Chamber of Commerce, which plays a key role in facilitating business operations through essential services including the issuance of certificates of origin, processing of ATA Carnets, attestation of documents, and commercial mediation to resolve business disputes. It also detailed how membership enables companies to actively contribute to the development of business legislation through participation in Business Groups. Representing the interests of all major sectors in Dubai, these groups play a vital role in facilitating dialogue between government entities and the private sector to address policy matters and enhance Dubai's economic competitiveness.
Participants learned more about the chamber's initiatives to support the international expansion of Dubai-based companies. These include organising targeted trade missions to connect local businesses with trusted partners in priority markets, as well as hosting workshops to raise awareness of regulatory frameworks and the latest legal developments relating to different sectors.
The session also highlighted the strategy of Dubai International Chamber, which focuses on attracting foreign companies and investments to Dubai. This includes its efforts to bring multinational corporations to the emirate through a growing network of international representative offices. These offices promote Dubai's competitive advantages, provide access to valuable market intelligence, and help drive foreign direct investment (FDI) flows to the emirate, while also supporting the international expansion of Dubai-based businesses.
In addition, the workshop examined the role of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy in advancing the emirate's digital transformation agenda and supporting the growth of Dubai's startup ecosystem. Key initiatives showcased included Expand North Star, the world's largest event for startups and investors; the Business in Dubai platform, which provides convenient access to corporate and operational services for companies looking to launch or expand in Dubai; and the Create Apps Championship, an initiative designed to position Dubai as a global leader in smart application development by attracting digital talent and encouraging entrepreneurs to pitch and develop innovative mobile app solutions.
As a key enabler of Dubai's economic growth, Dubai Chambers remains firmly committed to empowering businesses and supporting their expansion both within the emirate and across global markets. It continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the digital economy, protecting the interests of the business community, and positioning Dubai as a global hub for trade, innovation, and investment.

Etihad Rail will open up new real estate hubs, says expert

The Etihad Rail network will transform the UAE's economic landscape by boosting connectivity, reducing travel times, and driving genuine demand in emerging markets, says a UAE property expert. Etihad Rail benefits will extend far beyond real estate, creating new corridors for living, trade, and investment across the Emirates, said Firas Al Msaddi, CEO of fäm Properties. 'When we saw Sheikh Mohammed riding the Etihad Rail from Dubai to Fujairah, that wasn't just a symbolic moment - that was the announcement of a new real estate era in the UAE,' said Al Msaddi. 'It represented a once-in-a-generation infrastructure shift that will redefine how value is created, captured, and capitalised across the Emirates," he said. 'We're not just talking about transportation. We're talking about speed, interconnectivity, and productivity, and how all of that compresses space and time. And when you compress space and time, you reduce opportunity cost. That's where the real value is unlocked. 'Etihad Rail isn't just a train, it's a full-scale economic reset for the UAE. It will shift demand patterns, eliminate bottlenecks, and open up new corridors for living, trade, and investment.' Added Msaddi: 'Each emirate has always had something unique to offer. But until now, the opportunity cost of movement, whether for people, goods, or capital, has been too high. 'Etihad Rail changes that. When you cut travel time from 2 hours to 50 minutes between cities, you don't just save time, you reshape where people choose to live, work, and invest. 'What used to be too far is suddenly next door. Fujairah is no longer the end of the UAE, it's the Eastern gateway. Al Ain becomes a realistic base for remote professionals who can now be in the capital or the coast in under an hour. This creates a complete re-pricing of land value, not based on geography, but based on accessibility.' Al Msaddi cites the example of Japan's bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka, which transformed cities like Nagoya in just five years. 'Commercial land values rose over 40%, and housing demand surged more than 60%,' he said. 'It wasn't about the train itself, but the economic flow unlocked by faster travel. 'The UAE is applying that same model, but with one major advantage: it's building the world's most advanced, tech-enabled rail system from the ground up, with no legacy constraints.' Pointing to the impact on logistics, B2B supply chains, and the decentralisation of corporate ecosystems, Al Msaddi says the equation most investors overlook is that faster travel means more meetings and more transactions. 'A salesperson based in Sharjah can now close deals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai without losing six hours to traffic,' he says. 'That boosts output. Multiply that across the commercial class, and you start seeing real GDP impact.' Al Msaddi says Etihad Rail's impact will see land prices rise in tier-2 cities like Fujairah, Al Dhaid, and Ruwais, because better connectivity will drive real demand. 'Transit-oriented hubs will rise near stations like Sharjah's University City and Sakamkam in Fujairah, with walkable, mixed-use clusters,' he says. 'Second-home markets will shift too. For families in Dubai, weekend beach units in Fujairah become practical when they're under an hour away. 'Those who still price real estate based on maps instead of travel-time analytics will lose money. Those who study station locations the way they used to study masterplans will build generational wealth,' he said. Mideast Stocks: Amlak Finance and DEWA Lead Dubai's Recovery; Abu Dhabi edges lower

Dubai index gains on optimism over U.S. interest rate cuts * Amlak Finance and DEWA boost Dubai's market performance * Abu Dhabi index declines due to Dana Gas and E& losses By Mohd Edrees Aug 8 - The Dubai index ended Friday on a positive note, led by investor optimism that U.S. interest rates could decline further this year, while Abu Dhabi headed in the opposite direction to finish lower. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he would nominate Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Stephen Miran to fill a vacant seat at the Fed for a few months, while the White House seeks a permanent addition to the central bank's governing board and continues its search for a new chair. Miran holds similar views to Trump, who has berated Chair Jerome Powell for being "too late" in cutting interest rates, even though growth is holding up and inflation is ticking higher. The Fed's decisions impact monetary policy in the Gulf, where most currencies, including the UAE dirham, are pegged to the U.S. dollar. Dubai's main index rebounded on Friday, recovering from two sessions of losses with the index settling 0.3% higher. Gains were underpinned by a 5.3% surge in Amlak Finance and a 0.6% increase in Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation. State-run utility giant Dubai Electricity And Water Authority rose 0.4% after second-quarter net profit jumped more than 25% to 2.26 billion dirhams ($615.3 million). By contrast Abu Dhabi's benchmark index slipped 0.1%, weighed down by a 1.2% decline in Sharjah-based Dana Gas and a 2% decline in UAE's largest telecom provider Emirates Telecommunication Group (better known as E&). Dana Gas reported a 12% decrease in its second-quarter net profit to AED 112 million ($30.5 million) on the back of reduced oil production volumes. Losses in the index were offset by a 0.8% rise in hypermarket operator Lulu Retail Holdings and a 1.7% gain in data analytical firm Alpha Data ahead of their earnings next week. Oil - a key contributor to Gulf economies - was stable at 0.69% to $66.89 a barrel by 1140 GMT. ABU DHABI down 0.1% to 10,312 DUBAI up 0.3% to 6,149 ($1 = 3.6728 UAE dirham) (Reporting by Mohd Edrees in Bengaluru; Editing by David Holmes)
