
Vedantu launches learning centre in Tirupati
Tirupati: Vedantu, one of India's leading education platforms, has inaugurated its latest Vedantu Learning Centre (VLC) in New Maruthi Nagar, Tirupati on Sunday furthering its mission to make quality education more accessible and affordable for students across the country.
The launch holds special significance for Vedantu's Co-founder and CEO, Vamsi Krishna, who hails from Tirupati. 'Our Learning Centres are designed to unlock potential and serve as launchpads for students' dreams,' said Vamsi Krishna.
The VLC model offers 100% offline classroom learning enhanced by tech-driven tools, expert mentorship, and a personalised academic support system. With tailored features like daily practice problems, regular testing, and the Vedantu Parent App, the centres aim to deliver impactful preparation for JEE, NEET, and State Board exams.
To celebrate the launch, Vedantu hosted a 'Vidya Yatra' event at Kachchapi Auditorium, featuring talks by top educators, insights on syllabus changes, and student felicitation ceremonies.

IIT-BHU increases 111 seats in popular depts for JEE qualified students
Varanasi: The Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, has increased 111 seats in its most popular departments for students qualifying through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). For the 2025-26 academic year, the institute will offer a total of 1,589 seats for the first-year students, the same as last year. However, seats were moved around to better meet the demand. Specifically, 111 seats were reduced in four departments—ceramic engineering, metallurgical engineering, mining engineering, and pharmaceutical engineering & technology—and given to nine high-demand departments like computer science and engineering, electronics engineering, mathematics and computing. Four departments remained unaffected. IIT-BHU director prof Amit Patra said, "We are constantly working to ensure that our academic offerings match the aspirations of our students and the needs of the industry. This reallocation of seats in high-demand departments will provide more opportunities for talented students to pursue their chosen fields and contribute meaningfully to technological advancement and nation-building." As per the count provided by the institute, as compared to the 2024-25 session, the number of seats in 2025-26 reduced from 14 to 41 in ceramic engineering, metallurgical, mining, and pharmaceutical engineering. The maximum reduction in the figure of seats—41—was in mining engineering. The seats increased from three to 22 in chemical engineering, civil, computer science, electrical, electronics, mechanical, architecture, biochemical, bioengineering, materials science and technology, mathematics and computing, engineering physics, and industrial chemistry. The number of total seats (1,589) is unchanged.

NEET PG 2025 On August 3, Exam City Selection Process To Open On June 13
Last Updated: Since the NEET PG 2025 exam will now be held in a single shift, NBE has requested students to re-submit their choice of exam city. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is set to conduct the NEET-PG 2025 exam on August 3 following the approval of the Supreme Court. 'NEET-PG 2025 will be conducted in Single Shift on 03.08.2025 as per the approval of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India," reads the official notice. The exam was earlier set to be conducted on June 15 in two shifts. Since the NEET PG 2025 exam will now be held in a single shift, NBE has requested students to re-submit their choice of exam city. The selection of exam city by the candidates will be on First Come First Serve Basis. The process to choose the cities will open on June 13 and close on June 17. 'To accommodate all the candidates in Single Shift, NEET-PG will now be conducted in more cities. This will be in addition to the cities indicated in the information bulletin. Therefore, all the candidates will have to re-submit their choice of Exam City. The application form for choosing the Exam City will be live from 13.06.2025(03:00 PM) to 17.06.2025(11:55 PM)," the NBE stated. 'During submission of the online application form, candidate will be able to see only those cities where testing seats are available. The allotment of venue in the chosen Exam City will be done by NBEMS," the notice added. The exam will be computer based and will be conducted in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). For this, there is a plan to set up more than 1,000 exam centres in 250 cities across the country. About 60,000 people will be involved in conducting the exam, including site in-charge, system operator, security personnel, lab manager and electrician. On May 30, a bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and Justice N.K. Anjaria while announcing that the exam be held in a single shift, observed, 'Conducting the exam in two shifts results in arbitrariness and fails to ensure a level playing field. The question papers across the two shifts can never be of the same difficulty level. While last year it may have been held in two shifts due to specific circumstances prevailing at the time, the examining body should have made efforts to conduct the examination in a single shift this year." IIT Delhi launches new BTech in design for academic year 2025-26
New Delhi: As part of its ongoing curriculum transformation, IIT Delhi is set to launch a new four-year undergraduate programme, 'BTech in Design', from the academic year 2025–26. This announcement follows the recent launch of the BS in Chemistry programme, which is open to candidates who qualify through JEE (Advanced) 2025. Admission to the BTech in Design will also be determined by JEE (Advanced) rankings. Additionally, applicants must qualify in the UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) aptitude test. "This programme is uniquely designed for empathetic, creative individuals who aim to comprehend socio-technical systems and develop solutions to their complex challenges," an official said. Students pursuing BTech in Design will learn about prevalent technologies, systematic design thinking processes, research methods for analysing socio-technical systems, communication and presentation skills, and teamwork. "This transdisciplinary curriculum merges the strengths of technology and design. The programme curriculum will pave the way for easy collaboration and partnerships between the design department and other departments, centres, or schools. The BTech in Design will place particular emphasis on product design. "The goal is to equip students with the confidence to leverage design as a tool for addressing real-world industrial and societal challenges by the end of the programme," the official said. According to officials, the recently launched BS in Chemistry aims to leverage the strengths of the IIT Delhi ecosystem of research and entrepreneurship. This undergraduate programme aims to develop next-generation chemical scientists and technology leaders for core chemistry-based industries, academia, and entrepreneurial ventures. The course curriculum is designed to lay a core foundation with a wide basket of electives in chemical sciences, which would be ideally suited for those interested in exploring opportunities in both basic sciences and engineering, or a combination of the two.
