Hong Kong v Man United LIVE: Ruben Amorim's side look to bounce back in friendly
Largely meaningless, money-spinning affairs these may be but Ruben Amorim was not at all happy with a flat performance in Kuala Lumpur as Malaysian Manchester United fans in attendance were given a rare live view of the mediocrity that has been a theme of the side's campaign. While brighter news appears close in the transfer market, with Matheus Cunha close to a move from Wolves, there is little to encourage Amorim of an immediate upturn in fortunes.
Hong Kong are ranked a relatively lowly 153rd in the world but will take confidence from how the ASEAN All Stars managed to frustrate and threaten their visitors as they seek a strong result of their own. Watch every Fifa Club World Cup game free on DAZN.

Arsenal legend makes Viktor Gyokeres goals prediction after 'tough' debut
Viktor Gyokeres had a 'tough day at work' on his Premier League debut for Arsenal, but Freddie Ljungberg is still expecting a good season from his fellow Swede. It was a successful afternoon for the Gunners as they beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, kicking off their campaign with a hard-fought three points. It was not particularly a performance to remember from Mikel Arteta's side, with the Red Devils causing them a lot of trouble and spurning a number of chances. It was also a very underwhelming display from Arsenal's £64m new striker, with Gyokeres not having much impact on the game at all. There was a willingness to run the channels and he showed off his strength, but didn't pose a threat to the Manchester United goal and put in a really awful cross at one stage from a promising position. Metro's new weekly football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday – sign up, it's an open goal. The former Sporting man was hooked after an hour, replaced by Kai Havertz on an afternoon that did not go how he would have hoped. Ljungberg, who won two titles with Arsenal, says it will take time for his countryman to make the step up from the Portuguese top flight to the demands of the Premier League, but is not concerned by the tricky start. The 48-year-old still thinks Gyokeres will score an impressive number of goals this season, as long as he doesn't lose confidence by struggling to get off the mark for some time. 'It was a tough day at work for him,' Ljungberg told ViaPlay. 'He obviously wants to score goals and the fans want to see him score goals. 'I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is the Premier League, not the Portuguese league. But you can see he has it in him, so I'm not worried. 'I think he will be around 20 goals this season if he breaks the zero early.' Arteta defended his striker's debut, saying that his teammates failed to give him the ball in promising positions a number of times. 'I think there are seven, eight situations when the ball is completely open to play through and we are in and attacking the 'keeper,' Arteta said. 'We give the ball away and then it becomes a basketball game.' The manager added on the Swede: 'Well he did a lot of things very good. 'You can tell especially in our high press and rhythm that we demand, that especially in the first half we were giving a bit too much time. It is something that we have to work on him, especially there. 'Then in the final action situation, he did not have that many chances to do that, because in the previous action, we had to play that last ball and the last was standing still with 40 metres to play. 'We did not manage to put the ball through to exploit his quality. But overall, coming away to Man United, winning your first game with Arsenal, is a good start.' More Trending Manchester United legend Roy Keane suggested Gyokeres will need some time to get up to speed in the Premier League, particularly as he joined pre-season with Arsenal late after his arrival from Sporting and because of his muscular phrame. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'When you're a big strong man like that and you do miss pre-season, sometimes for the bigger lads, the big units, he's a big strong boy like an old fashioned striker, you definitely need a bit more time to get up to speed,' Keane said on Sky Sports. 'Sometimes the slighter lads are a bit sharper up there, but for the big lads it just takes a bit longer to get back in the swing of things.' Arsenal are back in action on Saturday evening when they host Leeds United, when Gyokeres will hope to get off the mark in front of his home fans. In fact, there is also potential for smaller teams to sneak into the top four. Atalanta have been Champions League regulars recently but haven't always challenged at the top end of the division, while Bologna secured a top four finish in 2023/24. Serie A Relegation Odds The latest relegation odds for Serie A will appear in this section. Ruben Amorim disagrees with Gary Neville's Manchester United transfer demand
Manchester United saw their opening Premier League of the season against Arsenal decided by a familiar problem, but Ruben Amorim is refusing to take Gary Neville's advice Ruben Amorim has insisted he is happy with his goalkeepers despite Gary Neville claiming that their 'glaring issue' will continue to undermine Manchester United 's efforts this season. United opened their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 defeat by Arsenal on Sunday, with the only goal of the game coming from an error by Altay Bayindir. The United keeper flapped at Declan Rice 's corner, gifting Riccardo Calafiori a simple header to put the Gunners ahead. Bayindir started with Andre Onana not in the squad following a pre-season impacted by injury, while 39-year-old Tom Heaton was on the bench. Neither Onana nor Bayindir has convinced since joining the club and Neville was clear on his take. 'It's going to keep hurting United," he said while on commentary for Sky Sports. "The goalkeeper has got to be stronger. I think he will complain that he was fouled. He's got a player in front of him, there's a lot of pushing and shoving going on. I just think your goalkeeper has to be stronger.' Speaking later on the Gary Neville Podcast, he said: 'It's a glaring issue at United that cannot be ignored and that is that they do need to find a goalkeeper. They have to, I'm absolutely unequivocal on that. "In my 20 years at Man United we had two periods of seven or eight years with [Peter] Schmeichel and [Edwin] Van der Sar and in between we had seven or eight goalkeepers in a six, seven, eight-year period and it's really unsettling when you don't have a dominant No.1 who is 6ft 2in, dominant in the air and owns his six-yard box and comes and punches everything and makes a lot of saves one-on-one and saves you points when your defenders make mistakes. 'I don't know where they are on PSR, they seem to have a bit more money, they don't need to magic up a bit more money in the next week or so, or do something on loan.' But asked if he was happy with his goalkeepers, Amorim was firm. 'We proved today that we can win any game in the Premier League, especially against a great team like Arsenal, and we were the better team,' he said. And pressed on whether they might try to sign one before the window closes in two weeks' time, Amorim simply stated: 'I'm happy with the three goalkeepers.' United have enquired about Aston Villa 's Emi Martinez and Paris Saint-Germain's Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer and Neville believes either would be a big step up. 'The two that you'd look at who were mentioned in the last week are Martinez and Donnarumma,' he said. HAVE YOUR SAY! Do Manchester United need a new goalkeeper? Comment below. 'The reason I say that they would be good goalkeepers for Manchester United is not necessarily because I think they are the best goalkeepers in Europe or that they're amazing, I think they've got big personalities and characters. You've seen Donnarumma in that European final for Italy save those penalties, he looked like a giant. You've seen him play for PSG in huge games under pressure. 'You've seen Martinez play in a World Cup final and win a World Cup. They've played under extreme pressure and have big personalities and characters and almost walk out with an arrogance and dominance of a goalkeeper and I think Man United need that.'
