'With everything going on, the girls really stayed where their feet are, played some really good golf, and got it done,' said Seminole head coach Amy Bond in a press release. 'I'm super excited; we have waited a long time for this, and it was well deserved by our crew against a very good Wake Forest squad.
'We've been talking about one shot, one hole and they showed a lot of grit. That's what you've got to do in golf and especially in match play. You never quite know what you are going to come up against, and they fought through it no matter how much they were down and got the job done when they needed to.'
'We've waited a long time for this and I'm super-proud of them,' said Bond.
FSU freshman Alexandra Gazzoli sealed the victory for the Seminoles on the 18th hole, winning her match on the final stroke to break a four-hole tie against Carolina Chacarra, the 23rd-ranked amateur in the world.
Mirable Ting and Kaylah Williams joined Gazzoli in winning their respective matches to help secure the title for the Seminoles, with Lottie Woad and Sophia Fullbrook falling in their matches.

Klubnik Cracks Top 10 Returning QBs, Eyes Heisman After Championship Season

Klubnik Cracks Top 10 Returning QBs, Eyes Heisman After Championship Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. CLEMSON, S.C. -- After leading the Clemson Tigers back to the pinnacle of the ACC and securing a College Football Playoff berth, quarterback Cade Klubnik is not just a champion, but also one of the nation's elite signal-callers heading into the 2025 season. According to the College Sports Network's advanced QB+ metric, Klubnik ranks as the seventh-best returning quarterback in college football, positioning him as a legitimate contender for the Heisman Trophy. Advertisement Klubnik's 2024 campaign was a resounding success, culminating in a dramatic ACC Championship victory over SMU where he was named the game's MVP for the second time in his career. This performance, a key factor in his impressive 82.2 (B-) QB+ grade, solidified his status as a clutch performer and a leader capable of elevating his team in high-stakes moments. The CSN QB+ metric, which weighs stable performance factors like clean pocket passing and designed rushing success more heavily, highlights the core strengths of Klubnik's game. One of his most impressive attributes is his composure under duress. Only two other returning quarterbacks in the nation posted a better pressured EPA per dropback (0.1) than Klubnik last season, a testament to his calm presence in the pocket when chaos erupts. While his overall grade was slightly dampened by a tough season-opening loss to Georgia (66.8, D grade), Klubnik's body of work speaks for itself. He consistently performed at a high level, logging four games with an 80+ grade. He led all returning quarterbacks with an impressive 36 passing touchdowns in 2024. Within the ACC, his dominance was even more apparent. According to TruMedia, he paced all returning conference quarterbacks in total pass EPA (114.19). A constant big-play threat, Klubnik tied for the ACC lead with seven plays of 50 or more yards and recorded more 20+ yard plays (57) than any other quarterback returning to the conference in 2025. Advertisement His efficiency was also top-tier, boasting a 6.0 touchdown-to-interception ratio, second only to Georgia Tech's Haynes King among returning ACC signal-callers. As Klubnik enters his third season at the helm of Garrett Riley's offense, expectations are soaring. With another year of experience and a proven track record of success, a trip to New York for the Heisman ceremony is a realistic goal. If he can build upon his 2024 performance and continue his upward trajectory, Klubnik has the potential to not only lead Clemson to another ACC title but also contend for a national championship. Since its inception in 1990, the American Century Championship has donated more than $8 million to local and national non-profits including the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a 500-person, nonprofit basic biomedical research organization.

CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported Wednesday that Brad Brownell's Tigers will take on coach Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge. An official date and start time were not announced. The matchup will be a rematch of teams who met twice during the 2023-24 season, including in the West Region final of NCAA Tournament in Los Angeles on March 30, 2024. After defeating New Mexico, No. 3 seed Baylor and No. 2 seed Arizona in the tournament, the Tigers reached the Elite Eight for only the second time in program history, and the first since 1980. Clemson fell to Alabama, 89-82, at Arena (Staples Center), denying the Tigers their first trip to a Final Four. Prior to that, Clemson and Alabama met four months earlier on Nov. 28 in Tuscaloosa, an 85-77 Tigers victory in the 2023 ACC/SEC Challenge. Last year, Clemson smothered No. 4 Kentucky in the ACC/SEC Challenge for a 70-66 win at Littlejohn Coliseum on Dec. 3 behind 11 points and 20 rebounds from Ian Schieffelin. Guard Jaeden Zackery led the Tigers in scoring with 13 points, and fans stormed the court after the victory. Clemson finished 27-7 overall last season and 18-2 in ACC play and was a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers fell to McNeese State, 69-67, in a first-round upset in Providence, Rhode Island. Clemson was ranked No. 23 in the final USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Alabama went 28-9 overall and reached the Elite Eight before falling to Duke in the East Region final in Newark. The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 6 in the final Coaches Poll.
