Alleged killer dad Luciano Frattolin spotted in woods
A New York woman thinks she saw accused killer dad Luciano Frattolin 'running up a hill' close to where his 9-year-old daughter was found drowned. Rebecca Kulickowski, a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga in upstate New York, told News10 that she submitted two police reports after seeing a man she now believes was Frattolin running away from his car on Saturday evening, when Melina Frattolin is thought to have been killed. Kulickowski was driving through Ticonderoga toward Schroon Lake when she saw a Toyota Prius stopped in the road. 6 Police arrested Luciano Frattolin after he claimed his daughter had been abducted. Instagram/Luciano Frattolin 'It only caught my eye because as I was driving past the car, I seen a skinny tall guy,' she told News10. 'And he was running up a hill that he was parked next to and there was a wooded area on the bottom of it,' she said. 'I just didn't feel right, there was something about him, I don't know, our eyes locked when I drove by, he looked at me,' she said. Kulickowski did not see a child with the man at the time — but immediately contacted police when she got an Amber Alert about little Melina on Sunday. 'We got an alert and I was like, 'God no.' I can't even tell you what I felt in that moment, it was horrible,' she said. 6 Frattolin is being held at the Essex County Jail in upstate New York Essex County Sheriff's Office The alert was triggered by the girl's dad claiming she'd been kidnapped, which officials later said appeared to be a hoax. The alert was called off when Melina's body was discovered pinned under a log in Eagle Lake, between Ticonderoga and Schroon Lake, close to where Kulickowski saw the suspicious man. 6 The suspect lied that his daughter had been abducted, police said. Wnyt13 6 Frattolin was arrested and charged with his daughter's murder. Anti-Elon Musk protesters are coming for Tesla's new diner
Tesla just opened a retro diner in Los Angeles, so it was only a matter of time before anti-Elon Musk protesters caught wind. The long-awaited retrofuturistic diner, complete with giant outdoor screens for drive-in movies, dozens of Supercharger stalls, and an Optimus robot serving popcorn, opened to huge lines in West Hollywood on July 21st. Protesters are planning on demonstrating outside the newly opened diner on July 26th, according to the Action Network website, which has served as a repository for the so-called Tesla Takedown movement. '[Elon Musk] wants to celebrate his reign of terror in OUR CITY, Occupied Los Angeles, with a cheesy Tesla-branded diner exclusively for his legion of conmen stock-pumpers and MLM influencer tryhards?' the website reads. 'WE SAY HELL NO.' '[Elon Musk] wants to celebrate his reign of terror in OUR CITY, Occupied Los Angeles, with a cheesy Tesla-branded diner exclusively for his legion of conmen stock-pumpers and MLM influencer tryhards?' Since early February of this year, Tesla has been the target of protesters opposed to Musk's involvement with the Trump administration. As Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) sought to eliminate humanitarian aid programs and fire tens of thousands of government workers, demonstrators have expressed their rage by picketing outside Tesla showrooms and demanding Tesla owners sell their vehicles. Others have taken things further, defacing Tesla vehicles with anti-Musk slogans, smashing windows, and even setting some Tesla property on fire. Musk's allies in the Trump administration are threatening to prosecute anyone caught defacing Tesla vehicles by classifying the acts as 'domestic terrorism.' Musk officially stepped back from DOGE in May, although he claims that he will remain involved with the group in some capacity. The following month, Musk and President Donald Trump had a public falling out, with the two engaged in a war of words. Trump has threatened to deport Musk, while Musk has accused the president of being on Jeffrey Epstein's alleged client list. Despite all the drama, anti-Musk protesters are trying to keep up the energy. Joel Lava, who has been helping lead the Tesla Takedown protests in Los Angeles, said he expects a large crowd outside the diner this Saturday. 'It's in West Hollywood,' Lava told The Verge. 'I think it's safe to say that Elon Musk is not a popular figure in West Hollywood. So I don't think it's going to be hard to protest it.' 'I think it's safe to say that Elon Musk is not a popular figure in West Hollywood.' While the weekly crowds may have diminished slightly from their peak in the spring, and while Musk may have distanced himself from the Trump administration, the Tesla Takedown movement hasn't given up. Lava said that dozens of people still show up every week to protest outside of Tesla locations in LA, buoyed by news of Tesla's worsening earnings statement and falling sales. He also cited recent reports of food that was supposed to ship out with USAID being left to rot in warehouses thanks to DOGE's funding cuts. And the news that Musk may start his own political party has further motivated the activists to keep up their presence, Lava said. 'Yes, our numbers have dwindled, but they have stayed strong,' he said. 'We've already built a community, [and] people will show up.' Lava said the tactics will be similar to those used in protests outside of Tesla dealerships and charging stations: raising awareness about Musk's efforts to decimate humanitarian aid and destroy the federal government. 'I think our simple message is Tesla funds fascism,' Lava said. 'You're going into this cafe, and you're giving a $300 billion man your own money to help destroy the fabric of our country. That's why we don't want you buying Tesla. And that's why you shouldn't go into this cafe.' Posts from this author will be added to your daily email digest and your homepage feed. Illegal migrant accused of shooting off-duty CBP officer in NYC was only vetted over Zoom before being set free under Biden admin: sources
The illegal immigrant accused of shooting an off-duty border officer in a Manhattan park was only vetted using Zoom before being released into the US under the Biden administration, The Post has learned. Dominican Republic national Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, 21, waltzed across the US-Mexico border into Arizona in April 2023 — during the raging migrant crisis that saw federal agents take drastic measures in an attempt to free up resources. That month alone, the US saw a wave of more than 183,000 migrants come across the southern border. 3 Mugshot of Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez. Obtained by NY Post 'The whole system was overwhelmed by what the Biden administration was allowing,' Charles Marino, former senior law enforcement advisor to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, told The Post. 'The end game was to facilitate the processing of as many illegals into the country as possible,' Marino said. Overwhelmed Border Patrol agents recruited support from their colleagues up north at the US-Canada crossing, who interviewed illegal border crossers over Zoom to speed up their release, federal law enforcement sources said. One Homeland Security source fumed that the virtual questioning 'was a nightmare' and that it simply 'can't' ensure proper vetting. Mora Nunez was nonetheless released into the US due to a lack of detention space at the border — with a notice to later appear in front of an immigration judge, sources said. 3 A video still of the two suspects in the shooting investigation. DHS He was instructed to report to his local Immigration and Customs Enforcement office, too, but doesn't appear to have done so, according to the sources. Border agents also didn't take a DNA sample from Mora Nunez — standard practice to find out if someone has a criminal history in the US — due to a shortage of swabs at the time, sources said. Mora Nunez's name was run through law enforcement databases by the agents, however, and no criminal history turned up at the time. An immigration judge ordered that the Dominican national be deported in 2023, after he failed to show up to court. Still, Mora Nunez stayed in the US, racking up a slew of arrests in New York City and at least one in Massachusetts — but was let go each time, authorities said. Questioning over Zoom is no longer employed now that the influx of migrants has eased under President Trump. 3 A handgun found at the shooting crime scene. Kyle Mazza/NurPhoto/Shutterstock He is now accused of shooting the off-duty 42-year-old officer in the face as he sat with a female companion in Fort Washington Park Saturday night. An alleged accomplice, Christhian Aybar-Berroa, 22, also an illegal migrant from the Dominican Republic, helped with the botched robbery, officials said. Both are expected to face federal charges. The CBP agent, who has not been publicly identified, fired back with his own gun during the confrontation, hitting Mora Nunez three times, authorities said. The victim was saved by NYPD cops who were responding to a nearby mugging in the area, where the same suspects are believed to have stolen a woman's cellphone just five minutes before the shootout, said Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny. The federal agent underwent surgery Sunday and was in stable condition, sources said. In the aftermath of the shooting, President Trump unleashed on the problematic catch and release system that allowed Mora Nunez to stay in the country. 'Last night, in New York City, an incredible CBP Officer was shot in the face by an Illegal Alien Monster freed into the Country under Joe Biden,' Trump wrote in a Truth Social Post Sunday. 'He was apprehended at the Border in April 2023 but, instead of being deported, was RELEASED,' Trump continued. 'The CBP Officer bravely fought off his attacker, despite his wounds, demonstrating enormous Skill and Courage.'
