LXR Hotels & Resorts debuts in France with the opening of Sax Paris
PARIS, FRANCE and MCLEAN, VA. – Hilton announces the recent opening of Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts. Located in Paris's elegant 7th arrondissement, the 118-room property is housed in a historic neo-Gothic building, boasting panoramic rooftop views. Marking the debut of the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand in France, Sax Paris joins a global collection of luxury hotels in sought-after destinations that invite guests on a journey of discovery and adventure. Sax Paris is owned and developed by Compagnie de Phalsbourg, a French real estate company.
Sax Paris transforms a landmark 1899 building, formerly home to the Ségur telephone exchange, into a refined gathering place where travellers and Parisians come together to connect, converse, and experience the authentic lifestyle of the renowned Rive Gauche (Left Bank). Designed in the spirit of the 7th arrondissement – where art, culture, and sophistication converge – the hotel invites guests to relax and soak up its elegant atmosphere. Sax Paris offers contemporary rooms and suites, two distinctive restaurants, a stylish cocktail bar, and versatile event spaces. Guests can relax in the outdoor pool and garden, and the fitness and spa club provide a luxurious retreat. From this stylish base, guests can easily explore nearby treasures such as the Eiffel Tower, Musée d'Orsay, and Jardin du Luxembourg.
Simon Vincent CBE, president, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said, 'Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts epitomises modern luxury, elevating the guest experience within the beautiful surroundings of this reimagined Parisian landmark. As we surpass the milestone of 1,000 operating hotels across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, this latest addition to our portfolio marks our first luxury hotel in the heart of Paris. The opening also symbolises our continued commitment and growing presence in the French market and exemplifies our dedication to delivering unique and exceptional hotels in the world's most iconic destinations.'
Feisal Jaffer, global head, LXR Hotels & Resorts, said, 'Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts marks a significant moment for our brand as we debut in France. Paris is a city of timeless allure, making it the perfect setting for LXR's expansion into new, culturally rich destinations. As we continue to grow our global portfolio, we remain dedicated to curating independent, one-of-a-kind hotels that offer deeply personal and transformative experiences.'
Philippe Journo, founder and executive chairman of Compagnie de Phalsbourg, said, 'We are delighted with the recent opening of Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts, which has already set itself as one of the trendiest venues in Paris, fully embodying our vision of what luxury lifestyle should stand for in the heart of the city's prestigious 7th arrondissement. The hotel offers a unique view of Paris's iconic monuments that no one should miss when coming to the City of Light!'
Unrivalled hospitality steeped in Left Bank culture
The hotel's design studio, led by Karine Journo, reinterprets Left Bank sophistication through a modern lens, uniting talented artists, decorators, and designers. Guests are welcomed via The Galerie, a vibrant social hub adorned with 200 mirrors and Baccarat chandeliers. Beyond the gallery lies the SAX Garden, a city centre oasis designed by Studio Ravn, inspired by romantic French-style gardens, and featuring a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Sax Paris also showcases creations from renowned contemporary artists, including Arik Levy's crystal sculpture 'Rockstone' at the garden entrance and a restaurant ceiling mural by street artist Sto, referencing the building's historic République Française insignia.
The hotel's 118 rooms and suites feature a contemporary design of neutral colours and natural materials, including marble bathrooms and wood panelling. Many offer connecting options for families, while others open onto private terraces. Three signature suites – The Studio, The Winter Garden Suite, and The Signature Suite – feature in-room cocktail stations. Minibars are stocked with Parisian favourites curated through a partnership with the iconic Le Bon Marché's La Grande Épicerie de Paris.
Sax Paris presents distinctive dining concepts. Restaurant Le SAX is an all-day bar and restaurant for hotel guests and Parisians alike to socialise and dine over brunch, lunch or dinner. Presided over by Executive Chef, David Maroleau, who has previously led Michelin-starred restaurants, Restaurant Le SAX showcases the best of 'all that we love.'
The celebrated Kinugawa brand brings its acclaimed Franco-Japanese dining experience to the top of Sax Paris. Kinugawa Rive Gauche, a two-story rooftop restaurant, blends Parisian elegance with Japanese culinary artistry. The cocktail bar reinterprets Parisian classics with Japanese elements such as yuzu and shiso.
Exclusive adventures and amenities
The experienced concierge team is ready to tailor each guest's stay. As part of the LXR Hotels & Resorts Pursuit of Adventure programme, guests can explore the essence of the Rive Gauche through intimate and specially curated experiences. Michigan Central to bring new NoMad Hotel to Detroit
Hilton's first luxury lifestyle hotel in the United States, NoMad Detroit is set to open in 2027, part of Ford Motor Company's visionary plan for the former train depot turned tech and culture hub. DETROIT – NoMad Hotels has announced its debut in Michigan, following an agreement with Ford Motor Company to open a nearly 180-guest room hotel in Detroit. The hotel will be housed within The Station at Michigan Central, a 30-acre tech and cultural hub. This is part of an ambitious effort to revitalize Detroit's historic, once-abandoned passenger rail station. NoMad Detroit closely follows the announcement of the brand's Asia debut in Singapore, after Sydell Group and Hilton partnered together last year in a joint venture to grow the NoMad brand. The NoMad brand was founded in 2011 and is led by CEO Andrew Zobler, an industry veteran in the lifestyle hospitality space. NoMad's legacy in creative place making is unmistakable, with its brand becoming a namesake for the New York neighborhood it helped revitalize. 'NoMad has built a reputation for developing hotels that take inspiration from the history, art, design and culture that make a place unique, and NoMad Detroit is poised to be no exception,' said Andrew Zobler, Founder & CEO, Sydell Group. 'A city steeped in history with an incredibly bright future, NoMad Detroit is part of an ambitious project that is transforming The Station at Michigan Central into a center for commerce, innovation, community and culture. As we continue the international expansion of NoMad from the iconic London location, with plans to launch in Detroit and Singapore and more in the works, we look forward to giving travelers a chance to experience our unparalleled luxury in the most vibrant destinations.' Expected to open in 2027, NoMad Detroit will anchor the west side of The Station and the top five floors of the building's tower. Nearly 180 guest rooms, including 30 suites, are slated for the upper floors, marking the first time in the building's history that floors 14-18 will be occupied. Visitors will also enjoy luxury wellness facilities and additional amenities. Originally opened in 1913, The Station was designed by architects Warren & Wetmore and Reed & Stem, the same team behind New York's famed Grand Central. NoMad, a globally recognized hospitality innovator, will reimagine The Station's historic restaurant and carriage house with its signature restaurant and bar concepts. The interior design will celebrate the work of Detroit artists and makers throughout public and guest spaces, continuing NoMad's tradition of working with local collaborators to make its hotels at once global and very rooted locally. 'A year after we opened Michigan Central Station to the world, our vision to create a global innovation hub and a destination symbolizing Detroit's future is well underway,' said Bill Ford, Executive Chair, Ford Motor Company. 'Together with NoMad and Hilton, we are now announcing the next phase of our ambitious vision offering visitors and the community a unique hotel destination and memorable food and beverage experiences in this iconic landmark. The new NoMad Detroit hotel will not just be a place to stay, but an energetic and exciting gathering place for years to come.' Detroit is the only U.S. city to be designated by UNESCO as a City of Design, making it the perfect home for NoMad's Michigan debut, while The Station's storied past leaves deep wells of inspiration for the hotel's design. Initially opened in 1913 and replacing the previous Detroit Union Depot, The Station's more than 110-year history will ground the hotel's design. Restorations of historic architectural details are important, not just to the aesthetic of the hotel, but to make sure that each guest's stay helps them connect to their environment. NoMad's careful renovation of the space will connect the rich history of Michigan Central Station and the City of Detroit with NoMad's global spirit. NoMad Detroit's design will be borne out of a collaboration with local artists and makers to create a compelling concept that engages with the community. 'Michigan Central is proud to welcome the NoMad brand to Detroit, bringing world-class hospitality to one of the country's most iconic buildings,' said Josh Sirefman, CEO, Michigan Central. 'NoMad's track record of thoughtfully integrating into culturally significant places and for creating spaces that celebrate local character made them a natural fit. This partnership is a continuation of our work of turning The Station at Michigan Central into a global destination that serves residents and attracts visitors as well as inspiring entrepreneurs, industry, and creatives.' The announcement of NoMad Detroit comes nearly one year after Michigan Central and Ford celebrated The Station's reopening last June and propels the project forward to its next phase of reactivation as a global destination. As the centerpiece of Michigan Central's 30-acre district, The Station supercharges the growth of Detroit's technology ecosystem by accommodating larger tenants and established companies, attracting technology talent, drawing in diverse businesses and integrating youth training. Since launching in April 2023, Michigan Central has grown into a diverse innovation ecosystem with nearly 240 companies. Michigan Central and Ford opened The Station in June 2024, after a meticulous six-year restoration, as the centerpiece of the 30-acre district. Today, The Station has become home to multinational corporations and small businesses as tenants and has welcomed nearly 300,000 visitors to experience unique cultural programming and historical tours. NoMad Detroit will deliver accessible luxury experiences to Detroiters, Michigan Central's network of startups and industry partners, and visitors while treating guests to unparalleled views across the neighboring Corktown and Southwest neighborhoods, downtown Detroit and Canada. 'This project is one of many new locations for Hilton's luxury brands, following announcements in Turks & Caicos, Egypt, Singapore and India,' said Kara Randall, Vice President, luxury and mixed-used development, Hilton. 'With our existing NoMad footprint in London and NoMad Singapore in the pipeline in Asia, we chose to announce our next NoMad project with Ford, who, like Hilton, represents iconic American companies at this quintessential crossroads for U.S. travel in the historic renovation of Michigan Central Station. This project champions Detroit, rejuvenates a historic landmark and marks Hilton's luxury debut in Michigan, part of Hilton's aim to serve every stay occasion in every location.' Detroit anchors one of the largest regional economies in the United States, with significant contributions from the automotive industry, healthcare, finance, and technology sectors. The city attracts more than 16 million visitors per year and, as a UNESCO 'City of Design,' Detroit continues to be a vibrant and culturally rich destination. This signing is a significant addition to Hilton's luxury portfolio worldwide, which now boasts more than 500 properties, thanks to significant growth for Hilton's luxury brands as well as an exclusive partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Recent luxury openings include Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, Waldorf Astoria Osaka, Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and Signia by Hilton Amman. Hilton has nearly 100 luxury hotels under development worldwide. NoMad hotels participate in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest-loyalty program for Hilton's 24 distinct hotel brands. Hilton Honors members who book directly through preferred Hilton channels have access to instant benefits, including a flexible payment slider that allows members to choose nearly any combination of Points and money to book a stay, exclusive member discounts, and the Hilton Honors mobile app.

Tenth edition of Global Exhibitions Day celebrated worldwide
Global Exhibitions Day theme 'Exhibitions Unleash Potential' reached audiences in over 100 countries and regions. Next year's GED will take place on Wednesday, 3 June 2026 . PARIS – The tenth edition of Global Exhibitions Day (GED) was celebrated worldwide on 4 June 2025 under the theme 'Exhibitions Unleash Potential'. This year's theme showcased how exhibitions empower individuals, elevate organisations, and drive economic and social growth through direct in-person interactions and connections. GED 2025's four key messages highlighted the transformative power of exhibitions across multiple dimensions. Exhibitions drive progress in industries by fostering collaboration and innovation; empower individuals by supporting the growth of both emerging and established talent; advance communities by fuelling economic development and societal progress; and strengthen companies by amplifying brand presence, building networks, and boosting revenue through face-to-face engagement. In the lead-up to and during GED 2025, according to UFI's initial numbers*, global activations had an online reach of over 800k across social media. The #GED2025 hashtag was widely used across the community to showcase the role and relevance of exhibitions in driving progress for people and the planet. The Snöball social card campaign mobilised over 150 individual advocates who generated and shared personalised GED visuals across their networks, further amplifying the visibility and impact of the day. The tenth Global Exhibitions Day coincided with the UFI European Events Week in Thessaloniki, Greece, with over 350 attendees. At the welcome reception, the special celebration included a ceremonial cake-cutting and a joyous birthday song session, marking the milestone with a sense of community and festivity. Leading global organisers Clarion Events, Comexposium, Emerald, Informa, and RX, weighed in on the importance of exhibitions in empowering people through in-person connection and fueling multi-sector trade and growth. Industry associations from around the world came together to share the importance of GED and to encourage others in their respective communities to participate. Hugh Jones, UFI President and CEO of RX, said: 'Global Exhibitions Day is a powerful demonstration of the exhibition industry's unity and impact. Around the world, our community came together to showcase how exhibitions connect people, ignite innovation, and drive growth across industries, communities, and economies. The day reaffirmed that face-to-face events remain essential platforms for building a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future.'
