PBA to hold games in Bahrain this December
League commissioner Willie Marcial and Bahrain Basketball Association president Alaa Mudara confirmed the development on Wednesday.
"We're very happy to host the games in Bahrain. A few national games have been in Bahrain but this time, we'll have PBA teams coming to Bahrain for PBA fans to enjoy watching them, especially the Filipinos who are in the area who cannot come to the Philippines for these games. That will be a very good chance for them to watch the games live," Mudara said.

Juami Tiongson wins his first PBA title and Arra San Agustin is one proud girlfriend
Finally, Juami Tiongson is now a PBA champion. After being a four-time champion in the UAAP with Ateneo de Manila University, it took Tiongson more than a decade to win his first PBA title. Tiongson and the San Miguel Beermen defeated TNT, 107-96, on Friday in Game 6 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals. "Surreal, I'm lost for words," Tiongson said after the game. He was drafted by Blackwater in 2014 where he played until 2016 before he joined a PBA D-League squad in 2017. Eventually, he was picked up by NLEX before he landed with Terrafirma in 2019. In Terrafirma, he eventually became one of the faces of the franchise and was even named Most Improved Player in 2022. Then in 2024, Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig were traded to the San Miguel Beermen for Terrence Romeo and Vic Manuel. "It means more to me. Obviously, with everything I went through in my career. Baka nung nag-start ang career ko, nawala ako sa PBA. I made it back and glory to God, and hopefully, win more championships," he said. But what made it sweeter is that his girlfriend, Sparkle artist Arra San Agustin, was on the sidelines as Tiongson won his first chip. "It's nice that she's here," Tiongson said. San Agustin, meanwhile, said she is just proud of Tiongson's achievement. "I'm really proud and happy because I've been with him for a long time because I've seen hardships, I know how hard he works. When I see Juami, I always tell him na he's the most disciplined, most hardworking person I've ever known and he deserves his first ever championship," San Agustin said. "I'm really happy for him kasi at least, now nag-pay off lahat ng sipag niya, lahat ng ginagawa niya." It was previously reported that the two broke up in October 2022 after being together for around four years. Early this year, San Agustin confirmed they were together again. —JMB, GMA Integrated News

PMNFT U-23 falls to Vietnam in Mandiri Cup semis
The Philippine Men's Under-23 National Football Team came up short in its semifinal campaign after they fell to Vietnam, 2-1, in the ASEAN U-23 Mandiri Cup on Friday at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. Despite Javier Mariano's goal that put the Filipino booters at an early advantage, the Vietnamese refused to back down and eventually booked the first spot to the championship against the winner of the other semifinal pairing between host nation Indonesia and Thailand. Still, the Filipinos made history with their first-ever semifinal appearance in the regional meet where they will now be relegated to the battle for third match. —JKC, GMA Integrated News

Turkey's Aurora Gaming shocks Onic Philippines in MSC showdown
Onic Philippines was dealt a massive upset loss after falling to Aurora Gaming of Turkey, 1-2, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2025 on Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Filipinos bounced back from a Game 1 loss with a dominant performance in Game 2, but ultimately fell to the Turkish squad in the clincher, dropping to the lower bracket of Group B and teetering on the brink of elimination. Aurora, who's being led by Filipino coaches in Aniel "Master The Basics" Jiandani and Dexter "Dexstar" Alaba, secured a spot in the upper bracket semifinals, moving one step closer to a coveted playoff berth. On the cusp of a sweep loss, Onic turned to Duane "Kelra" Pillas in Game 2 as the prized gold laner unleashed a strong showing on his signature hero Granger, dropping eight kills and five assists to drag Aurora to a decider. In Game 3, both teams were decisive until the final lord clash came, where Onic's jungler Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez had a lord steal at the 20:17 mark. But K1NGKONG was taken down after Aurora's roamer Furkan 'APEX47' Akbulut unloaded a well-timed Avatar of the Guardian that also allowed him to pick off Kelra (Beatrix) for a double kill. Onic also saw roamer Borrid "Brusko" Parro going down after falling to the Abyssal Trap of Ahmet "Rosa" Batir (Selena), paving the way for Aurora Gaming eventual victory against the reigning world champions. Onic is now in a must-win situation as it takes on Area 77 of North America where the loser gets booted out while the winner advances to lower bracket semifinals. Aurora, on the other hand, will look to punch its playoff ticket when it takes on RRQ Hoshi of Indonesia in the upper bracket semis. —JKC, GMA Integrated News
