David Gray 'frustrated' at leaving Parkhead empty handed
Hibs head coach David Gray was frustrated after his side were beaten 3-1 by Celtic at Parkhead in the William Hill Premiership yesterday.
Martin Boyle opened the scoring, but two goals in four minutes at the end of the first half gave the Scottish Champions the lead.
Reo Hatate then scored Celtic's third in the second half to secure the victory.
When speaking to Hibs TV after the game, Gray said: 'I'm clearly frustrated because it's never nice to lose games of football.
'I thought we carried a little bit more threat today, which is important because of how we played last time we were here.
'I thought we started the game positively. The manner of the goals and the timings of the goals were the big sucker blow for the players today.
'To get in-front today was good, I thought the shape was excellent, the effort was there from the players too, but to lose the goals before half-time was a blow. We could've gone in 1-0 up, but we went in 2-1 behind and that shows you the level of opposition again because if you switch off for one second, then you'll be punished.
'Their second goal was a wee bit unfortunate because Boyley slipped just before it. We still have to defend much better in that moment, we know that.
'Second half I got a reaction from the players. We started brightly and had a couple of corners and chances, but that didn't quite fall for us. The third goal was the killer. Once it goes 3-1 it became very difficult.
'We kept pushing and trying to get back into the game, so I can't fault the effort of the players, but when you make mistakes in games, you'll be punished, and we've said that a few times this season.'
Hibs will remain third going into the final two games of the William Hill Premiership season, and Gray admits it's a huge week ahead.
'It's a massive game. I just said to the players then 'this is the biggest week of your lives now because of what's at stake with two games to go'. If we win both games it doesn't matter what anyone else does, and that has to be in the players' minds, the staff, and everyone involved with the Football Club.
'When we get back on the pitch on Monday, we have to have full focus on going to Paisley. They're the only team we haven't beat and we're desperate to put that right.
'From where we were to where we are now, we have a huge opportunity still. The players need to give absolute everything so that we see this through.'

"I know all about Scottish football. I played against Rangers in the Champions League with Grasshoppers. "I have also been to Scotland to visit places like Glasgow and Edinburgh on holiday. "It's a nice country and I have watched a lot of the football there. "Moving to Britain would be a sensible next step and he would also have the chance to play European football at a high level. "You look at Celtic's history and there have been a lot of Swedish players who have done well there. "Henrik Larsson, Johan Mjallby and Mikael Lustig have all done extremely well and maybe Benjamin can be the next one. "The style of Scottish football really suits Swedish footballers and I am sure he would do well at Celtic."

Odsonne Edouard to Celtic transfer return given thumbs up but one major stumbling block cited
French Eddy has been deemed surplus to requirements at FA Cup-winning Crystal Palace Scott Allan insists Celtic shouldn't think twice if an opportunity arises to re-sign Odsonne Edouard. Brendan Rodgers has already brought returning heroes Kieran Tierney and Jota back to Parkhead after stints elsewhere. Edouard, 27, flopped on loan at Leicester City and has no future at Crystal Palace as he enters the final year of his deal. The former PSG striker - who swapped Celtic Park for Selhurst Park in a £14million transfer four years ago - was prolific in Glasgow. Rodgers even labelled the Frenchman as one of the best young players he had worked with after shelling out a then-club record £9m to turn his season-long loan into a permanent deal in 2018. And when asked if he should be on Celtic's radar this summer, Allan told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "I would, yeah. Fantastic player. It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to. "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. "He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen." A potential stumbling block could be Edouard's lucrative salary at the Eagles, something Allan believes could be a deal breaker. Benjamin Nygren takes huge step towards £2million Celtic transfer as Sweden star holds positive talks with Hoops

It's understood the Hoops could land the versatile playmaker for a cut-price fee of around £2million. Nygren, who can play anywhere across the frontline, has several clubs on his trail -and Celts are at the front of the queue. Copenhagen and Anderlecht were keen on him and Nordsjaelland also fielded calls from MLS and Bundesliga clubs. But SunSport understands Nygren would prefer a move to Scotland and talks with the Hoops are progressing well. The latest developments come as reports in Belgium state the player has already REJECTED an approach from Anderlecht. The Belgian giants have now pulled out of the running for Nygren - and believe he has chosen to join Celtic. It not looks like a matter of time before Rodgers lands his second summer signing. 'Benjamin is an intelligent attacker. His left foot is fantastic and he can score goals and assist. 'His final ball is always very good and he can finish when he gets a chance. He has the lot! 'He is not slow but he's maybe not super fast, and that's the only thing you can say that he lacks. 'However, he is quick enough to get away from opponents and has very good vision and passing.'
