Derwydd Mansion in Carmarthenshire for sale for £1.8 million
The 14-bedroom Derwydd Mansion, located in Llandybie, Ammanford, is being offered for sale by estate agents Morgan Carpenter.
The estate includes eight bathrooms, 10 reception rooms, and a separate garden cottage, all set within approximately eight acres of land.
The mansion is believed to have been a haven for Henry Tudor on his way to challenge Richard III for the crown.
Derwydd Mansion is one of Carmarthenshire's oldest private mansion houses, first appearing in history books in 1485.
It was once owned by Tudor Knight Sir Rhys ap Thomas, who reportedly provided Henry Tudor with 5,000 Welsh soldiers who marched with him to victory at the Battle of Bosworth.
This historical connection is commemorated in a sculpture of a shield in the mansion's King's Room.
The property is a Grade II* listed building, with several itemised internal and external features that are individually listed.

They have used the property as a successful wedding venue, a set for a Hollywood film production, and a holiday complex.
This history suggests that the mansion has potential for a variety of uses, subject to obtaining the appropriate consents.
The estate agents suggest that the property could be a versatile multigenerational family home or a commercial enterprise.

Pembroke Dock variety show in aid of Homeless Pembrokeshire
Peter Kraus of Pembroke Dock is hoping that at least £1,000 will be raised for the event to help the registered charity, which offers crisis support, advice and emergency rough sleeping packs to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 'It's horrifying to think how many people in Pembrokeshire are homeless, with some living in cars and tents,' said Peter, who has asked for donations to Homeless Pembrokeshire to mark his birthday.. 'I just wanted to do something to help.' The show - billed as 'a night of wonderful entertainment' will take place at The Cricketers, Imble Lane, Pembroke Dock on Friday June 13, with doors open at 7pm. Kirsten Orsborn is an acclaimed Welsh singer and Forces Sweetheart for the Royal Marines. Brynmawr food festival is taking place next weekend
The Brynmawr Town Centre Food Festival is returning next weekend on Saturday, June 14. The event is running from 10am to 5pm and promises to have something for everyone. Visitors can indulge in a wide range of offerings from food and drink vendors, serving delicious eats and refreshing beverages. With both sweet and savoury options and tonnes of stalls what's not to love? At the event popular Welsh businesses and local businesses will be on show. Visitors can also take advantage of a free park and ride service at Brynmawr Foundation School, ensuring easy access to the town centre. Live music performances will also be ongoing throughout the day creating a lively atmosphere. Attendees can look forward to performances by The Kiltics, Laura Jasmin, and The Valli Boys. Community radio presenters BGFM who will be hosting the event which will include interactive radio style games for the community to partake in.
