Successful in the last two renewals of the Group Three event, the Andrew Balding-trained Coltrane was a 4-6 favourite to complete the hat-trick and appeared perfectly positioned for much of the two-mile contest as he sat in the slipstream of Divine Comedy, who set a sedate pace in front.
Coltrane was nudged into the lead passing the two-furlong marker, but was soon challenged by 11-1 shot Yashin, who was a high-class operator for Jessica Harrington before changing hands for 80,000 guineas in October and looks a shrewd purchase judged on this one-length success under Callum Shepherd.

Bell said: 'He'd been working well and galloped at Chelmsford the other day and we were very happy with him. He went to Ascot in very good form, so we were hopeful of a very good run.
'He's been in very good form since we've had him, so we were hopeful he would be involved definitely.'

We said if we didn't win the Sagaro, we didn't want to run in the Gold Cup anyway and if he did win, we'd get the free nomination, so we put some thought into it and he could well go there.

The U.S. team just took a third consecutive loss, falling 2-1 to Turkey on Saturday in a friendly at East Hartford, Conn. McKennie was asked about Donovan's comments by USA Today Sports on Monday in Italy, where he is in training with Juventus. "Obviously, none of us take for granted playing for the national team," McKennie told USA Today. "None of us want to lose games. All of us want to compete." McKennie added about Donovan's remarks, "No names were named. Coming off a long season, a stressful season, obviously, some players feel a different way about it, and some players feel another way. Greenland rejected for CONCACAF membership
June 9 - CONCACAF unanimously rejected Greenland's application for membership on Monday. The governing body made the decision at its extraordinary congress before this month's Gold Cup. "Furthermore, based on a thorough assessment conducted by the Concacaf administration and Council, and in accordance with the Concacaf Statutes, the Member Associations reviewed the membership application submitted by the Greenlandic Football Association and unanimously rejected it," CONCACAF said in a news release. The decision deals a significant blow to Greenland's attempts to play international soccer for the first time. Greenland is a territory of Denmark with a population near 56,500. For comparison, the Faroe Islands are a Danish territory with a population just below 55,000, but they are a member of FIFA and UEFA, the latter governing European soccer. Last year, Greenland applied for membership in CONCACAF, which governs North and Central America and the Caribbean. Its nearest neighbor is Canada, and U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed interest in taking control of the island. Greenland's soccer team takes part in non-FIFA-sanctioned friendlies. June 9 (Reuters) - Christian Pulisic's dad Mark hit back at Landon Donovan on Monday after the U.S. soccer great appeared to criticize the midfielder for his decision to sit out the upcoming Gold Cup to rest after wrapping up his season with AC Milan. On Sunday, Donovan was a pundit for the UEFA Nations League final, in which Portugal beat Spain on penalties, for Fox Sports and made it clear he was unhappy with Pulisic's decision to ask U.S. head coach Mauricio Pochettino to leave him out of the Gold Cup squad. "This is what it means to represent your country," Donovan said on the broadcast while watching Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo. "This is what it means. "He'd been playing professionally from a young age and had participated in multiple World Cups, so he felt the need to step back and take some time for himself. This break allowed him to rest, travel, and ultimately return to the game with a refreshed mindset." Mark Pulisic posted a screenshot of the ChatGPT reply on Instagram and Christian liked it. Donovan is not alone in being critical of Pulisic's decision with former U.S. great Alexi Lalas levelling similar criticisms, saying the team needs as much playing time together as they can get with the World Cup coming to the U.S., Mexico and Canada next year.
