
Saudi Defense Minister Arrives in Iran for Official Visit
Saudi Arabia's Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman arrived in Tehran on Thursday for an official visit, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The visit comes ahead of expected weekend talks between Iran and the United States over Tehran's nuclear programme.
'Upon directives of the Saudi leadership, Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and his accompanying delegation arrived today in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on an official visit,' SPA said in a statement.
Prince Khalid is expected to hold several meetings with Iranian officials to discuss bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest, the agency added.

In a cable of congratulations sent to King Salman, Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed his wishes for further progress and prosperity for Saudi Arabia. In a cable sent to the Crown Prince, Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated on the successful Hajj season of 2025. The Emir praised the ongoing expansion works at the Grand Mosque and the development of modern smart services across the holy sites, which meet pilgrims' needs and facilitate the performance of rituals.
